A/N: The title of this future fic was inspired by the T.V. Show "Agents of SHIELD" and is affectionately called Harry Potter, Agent of the Blades. This is a direct sequel to my future fic "Harry Potter and the Gates of Oblivion" and a prequel to another future fic of mine, "Harry Potter and the Dragons of Skyrim".
Yes, I know there is 200+ years between Oblivion and Skyrim, but Harry will be heavily involved in the events of both games as well as the events inbetween. "Agent of the Blades" will cover the rise of Tidus Mede, The Great War, The Fall of the Blades and will see appearances from various characters from both Oblivion and Skyrim including but not limited to Baurus, Jauffre, Elenwen, Esbern, Arngier, Parthurnax, and Delphine. It will also showcase Harry's rise from Agent to Grandmaster and how he tries to deal with the Thalmor Crisis. Unlike "Gates of Oblivion" or "Dragons of Skyrim", "Agent of the Blade"s will not follow a linear story path, jumping around in the timeline.
Let me know what you guys think…
Chapter One- Aftermath
"I'm telling you Jauffre, we need to do something and we need to do it soon," said Harry Potter, the newest and one of the youngest of the Blades. "If we continue to sit around and do nothing, the Thalmor will become a serious threat to the Empire. Given the devastation seen throughout the provinces, it would take very little for a small radical supremacist group like the Thalmor to become a legitimate force to be reckoned with."
"What would you have us do? Our forces are being stretched thin to begin with, even without getting involved in provincial politics," Jauffre argued. "The Blades, at the Emperor's request, did so once before and it destabilized the entire region. Queen Barenziah is barely able to maintain what little order there is to be had in Morrowind after the combined stresses of the fulfillment of the Nerevarine Prophecy and the Oblivion Crisis. If Sirius Black would have stayed to help clean up the mess he created, then perhaps we wouldn't be in this mess."
"Who?" asked Harry focusing every bit of his attention on Jauffre who looked taken aback by Harry's sudden change in demeanor.
"Sirius Black," replied Jauffre cautiously.
"Sirius…" Harry whispered.
"Is something wrong?" Jauffre.
"Sirius... He's... If he's who I think he is, he's from where I came from," Harry told Jauffre, who was one of the very few people aware that Harry was not originally from Mundus. However, with the sacrifice of Martin Septim and the end of the Oblivion Crisis, Harry had no way of returning to his home of origin. "He's my godfather..."
"I see..." Jauffre replied somewhat helplessly. "All anyone knows of his most recent whereabouts is that he left from Morrowind on an expedition to Akavir and hasn't been seen since. After everything you've done..."
"It's all right, Jauffre," Harry interrupted with a shake of his head. "I'll just have to hope he knows what he's doing. In the meantime, we have other things to worry about."
"Like the imminent collapse of our Empire," Jauffre replied. "The Elder Council is maintaining order for now, but it's only a matter of time before one of many factions throughout the Empire brings up the matter of succession."
"Not to mention what our role in the coming days might be," added Meldil a Bosmer Agent of the Blades. "Our presence in the Summerset Isles is tenuous at best and non-existent in Black Marsh- our forces were wiped out in both provinces early on and the local militias were vastly more successful in defending the populace than we or the Imperial Legion was."
"On the other hand, reaction to our presence in Morrowind is mixed at best," stated Dralin Menas, a Dunmer Agent of the Blades. "With all that's happened in Morrowind in the last several years, a lot of which was either directly or indirectly caused by the Empire, the withdrawal of Imperial support during the Oblivion Crisis was seen as a major act of betrayal. However, with Black being a prominent member of both the Blades and House Redoran- not to mention both factions' combined efforts in holding back the Oblivion Crisis, there is a great deal of goodwill towards our Order."
Harry sighed rubbing his lightning bolt scar. "Well that's something..."
