Event: Reuben's birth
Petra's p.o.v
"Your uterus is still contracting. Your stomach feels tender. The afterbirth will occur at any moment"
the doctor informs me as he rubs my stomach. The placenta is supposed to come right out, but
that doesn't happen. "This is the end. I will be reunited with Rafael at last" I joke around with
Jane. Jane holds my hand very tightly. "Petra, you are not going to die" she assures me.
The doctor is able to pull the placenta out of me. I cope with the reality that Reuben will never
know his father.
