Injustice Epilogue: Hogwarts

Two young men stood at the ruins of what was once a great legacy, now reduced to rock and timber and whatever residual magic that had not yet faded.

"It's hard to believe it's gone..." said the red haired man.

The blonde man placed a hand in comfort on the red head's shoulder. "Seems like a lifetime ago we were just students studying for our NEWTs, snogging girls in corridors and living a fairly carefree life."

The red haired man snorted in amusement. "Speak for yourself, I was the best friend of Harry Potter. I didn't have time to snog girls because I was too busy getting ready to fight a war against your master."

The two men chuckled as they shared a rare moment of levity. The red head turned to the blonde. "You know, if anyone told me we'd end up as friends..."

The blonde snorted at this. "I'm sure generations of my ancestors are rolling in their graves because I'm friends with a Weasley."

"I does seem like a lifetime ago..." Weasley's smile became less genuine and more bittersweet. "Sometimes I look back at everything and it seems so..."

"Ridiculous? Petty?" the blonde offered.

"Yeah..." Weasley agreed. "It's hard to believe it's all over..."

"You know, it's ironic that for all that Dumbledore, the Dark Lord and others tried to accomplish, it was an alien of all things that united not only the 'dark' and 'light' families, but the Wizarding and Muggle Worlds," the blonde man stated.

Weasley snorted somberly, his face becoming quite sad. "Superman was hardly just an alien, Malfoy. He was a monster that threatened to take everything from us... A monster that took practically everything from us."

There was a hint of raw anger in his voice as he said this. After all, fewer had lost more than Ronald Weasley- his family and friends slaughtered or forced into doing a mad man's bidding, the places he considered home, both Hogwarts and the Burrow, decimated... Harry and Hermione... He shut his eyes tightly as he fought to stave off the images of memories he long strove to repress.

Out of the corner of his eyes, Draco Malfoy caught a glimpse of a woman with long silvery blonde hair- Fleur Weasley, widow of William Weasley, Ron's eldest brother, and one of three still living Weasleys, the other being her and Bill's daughter, Ron's niece, Nadiya, whom she was holding in her arms. "Not everything, I think."

Ron looked to where Draco was looking, spotting his sister-in-law and niece. Though it was quickly replaced by a neutral expression, Draco spotted the guilty longing on Ron's face when he saw her. "No, I suppose not."

"Now there's something I never thought I'd see," said a voice from above them. The two wizard's turned towards the voice instantly recognizing the speaker as he hovered above them. As he landed, the trio was joined by Fleur and her daughter. "If nothing else convinced me that I was in an alternate universe, the two of you speaking civilly to one another definitely did it."

"'Ello, 'Arry," Fleur greeted him with a smile.

"Fleur," he replied.

"What brings you here, Potter?" Draco asked.

The Green Lantern merely looked at the ruins of Hogwarts with a sad expression on his face. "I heard about what happened here after my other self stood up to Kal and failed. I had to see it... I can't imagine what this is like for you guys."

"It might be your nightmare, but it's been our reality for the last five years," Draco replied.

Harry brought his ring to bear. "Not any longer." The ring took on a silver glow, though his attire did not change. "In Brightest Day and Blackest Night; Let Justice fuel my burning light; Through the Spectrum of my holy might; Let the wicked beware The Lantern's Light!"

As he chanted, his ring began to glow brighter and brighter as his surroundings grew a slight bit dimmer. Suddenly, the ruins of Hogwarts began to glow all colors of the spectrum and began to fit themselves back into place. Ron, Draco and Fleur simply looked amazed at what Harry was accomplishing- unfortunately, it was also taking a toll on him as sweat began to drip down his face, his body straining at the effort of restoring the alternate version of his alma mater. He gripped his right arm with his left hand and put more and more of his concentration into it. It was only when the last few pieces were put into place did Harry allow himself to finally collapse.

"Harry!" Ron exclaimed as he caught the alternate version of his friend.

Harry smiled weakly at him. "Who says Rome couldn't have been built in a day."

"Zat was incredible," Fleur gasped.

Harry shrugged. "Yes and no."

"What do you mean?" asked Draco.

"Rebuilding a castle isn't all that difficult, comparatively speaking," Harry explained. "I didn't rebuild Hogwarts, I restored it- enchantments and all."

"Why?" Draco asked. "This isn't your Hogwarts, you didn't have to do that."

"Because no matter what version I'm looking at, it's home," Harry explained. "You guys have lost a lot- most of which can never be recovered... But I could give you guys this."

Fleur spared a warm glance at Ron, who'd been silent up to this point after seeing the school completely restored. "'Arry, zank 'oo, 'oo 'ave no idea 'ow much zis means to us."

"Thanks, Harry," Ron said at last, Harry could see that his friend's alternate was struggling with what exactly he was supposed to feel. He took a hesitant step towards the school, before turning back to Fleur. "Will you come with me?"

"Gladly, my love," Fleur replied with a warm smile, balancing Nadiya swaddled in her left arm while threading her right through Ron's left arm and walked with him arm in arm into the castle.

"My universe's Ron would be jumping over the moon," Harry told Draco.

"A couple of years ago and this one would have been too," Draco replied. "This one swore an oath to his brother to keep them safe while leaving him to die. They're almost all they have left, so naturally, they've spent a lot of time together. The only reason they're not together is his guilt over Bill's death and the fact that he's fallen in love with his dead brother's wife- the one who gave up his life to save them both."

"Everything is supposed to get better with the Regime gone," Harry said bitterly. "Kal has a lot to answer for."

"With Hogwarts restored, I think things will," Draco replied.

"The other me has a lot to clean up to do with the Regime gone," Harry told him. "Look after them, please. And don't let Ron be an idiot for too long. We don't choose who we love and being happy isn't a sin." Harry then began to fly off, however, before he got too far, he turned back to Draco. "And do something about the house system. That did more to keep our society divided than anything any Dark Lord ever did. Make Hogwarts great again."

"I will," Draco replied with determination as the two went their separate ways.
