Aye what's up guys. I'm not dead! I high-key forgot about this story and had to go back and read my old chapters to remember. I'm working on another fanfic about the The Owl House and uh yeah. My brain took control on that one. It's WAY more mature than anything I have written including a smut scene and a fight scene. So yeah. Go check that out if you want. No beta we die like men.
The group continue their journey towards the ever mysterious "Hide out" as Yang called it, walking down busy streets with vendors on every corner.
Blake grew increasingly nervous the closer they got to the hide out. What if the pack doesn't behave? What if Neo doesn't like Weiss? What if Weiss gets hurt? What if Weiss doesn't like her packmates? The more Blake thought, the more her insecurities grew.
Sun noticed his sister's tension and tried his best to act even more goofy in an attempt to cheer her up. The two sisters continued to chat cheerfully with Weiss, their laughter echoing of the buildings.
"Oh my god Weiss, you should have seen Ruby's first time fishing. She reeled it in and the fish started to freak out. Ruby got so scared she threw it back in the water!" Yang wheezed.
Ruby growled. "Shut up Yang! Don't forget about the time you almost burned the whole house down when you tried to cook!"
Weiss laughed and wiped a tear from her eye. "I would have loved to see that."
The trio's voices became a distance noise in Blake's troubled mind. Weiss' laughter died down considerably we she found the black-haired faunus leading the group did not say much the beginning of the walk. The heiress watched the twitching of Blake's faunus ears and tail, as if she was nervous about something.
Is she nervous about me meeting her packmates? She thought. Wanting to put the faunus at ease she jogged next to Blake, her white hair bobbing back and forth. "Hey Blake, is everything ok?"
Blake snapped out of her thoughts and locked her amber eyes with Weiss' sapphire blue. "Um yeah! Everything is just fine." She said nervously.
Weiss huffed. Did Blake honestly think she was gonna fall for that? "Is it because i'm meeting your packmates? You know i have no problem with the faunus."
Blake sighed. A building came into view. It was a story building with grey bricks and black trimmed windows a single red door stood out against the dull colors.
Yang, Ruby and Sun let out whoops and hollers as they raced towards the house. Blake chuckled at their antics. Weiss could hear loud rock music blaring from inside.
Blake stood on the steps and held the door open for the tiny heiress. "After you."
"Thank you." Weiss said tipping her head. The building was...loud. Faunus of different races were laughing and looked to be having fun. A pool table in the room to her left. What looked like a living room to full of soft looking couches n cushions to her right. A small girl with triple colored hair walked up to her. Weiss was a bit unerved seeing the pink and brown eyes staring into her own sapphire blue.
"Um, hello. My name is Weiss." She leaned down and offered the girl her hand. "What's yours?"
The tri-colored girl stared at the hand before taking out a notepad and pencil from her back pocket. The girl wrote something and turned the notepad around for Weiss to see.
"My name is Neo. I'm mute."
Blake entered through the door and greeted Neo with a big smile.
Weiss watched the small girl ignore her hand and bolt past her to hug the tall faunus around the waist.
Weiss awkwardly stuck her hand in her pocket and watched the two.
Blake let out a grunt before wrapping her arms around the smaller girl. "Did you miss me?"
Neo pulled back and nodded vigrously. She flipped to another page in her notebook and turned it around for Blake to see.
It was a beautiful drawing of a woman wearing a white dress being guarded by a huge black panther.
Blake's grin grew even more. "Wow Neo. You did great on that. Why don't you go and hang it up in my room?"
Neo beamed and ran off in the direction of what Weiss assumed was Blake's room.
"Who is she?" Weiss questioned. Neo looked like a child due to her short stature. But maybe she was a girlfriend? Then Blake wouldn't have spoken to her as if she was child. Weiss' thoughts began to spiral before Blake answered.
"I kind of adopted her? I found her one day digging in the dumpster and I took her in. She can't speak because some guy attacked her while she was living on the streets, he crushed her throat so badly she can't speak."
Blake lead Weiss towards the living room and motioned for her to sit on the soft couch before sitting herself. Her long arms hanging over the back and her legs sprawled infront of her. "She draws me things as a sort of payment i guess, She's really good."
Weiss widen in shock as Blake told her story. "Oh my god..i had no idea."
Neo came from a hallway to the right of the pool table. The tri-colored girl went and threw herself onto the couch between the two girls and snuggled into Blake's side.
Weiss once again felt unnerved when the pink and brown eyes stared at her. Neo grabbed her notepad and turned to look at Blake. There seemed to be a silent conversation going on between the two.
Blake sighed and stated. "Neo wants to draw you." She nervously added. "Is that alright?"
Weiss' eyes widen in suprise. A small blush grazed her cheeks. "Of course." She locked eyes with Neo. "I would love for you to draw me."
Neo smiled wide before focusing on her notepad. Her different colored eyes flicking towards heiress before going back to the paper.
Blake smiled warmly watching the two. She sat there simply watching. Then a huge purple blur snatched her from the couch, into a crushing hug. Neo fell backwards as the person she was leaning on was snatched from the couch.
"Oh Blake! I missed you so much! Adam was mean to me again!" the voice said, holding an accent.
Blake flailed around trying to get a sense of where she was. She pulled her face from a soft purple shirt and sucked in a breath.
Weiss' eyes widened at the hulking figure that stood behind the couch. The light purple T-shirt stretched tight, shiny black belt with a white skull shaped buckle and ash grey jeans. She stared in awe at the horns jutting out of the man's forehead and a slim crooked purple tail poked out from the man's jeans.
Blake pushed against the man's chest squirming trying to get out of the bone crushing hug. "Ed let me go!"
The man hurriedly let go of Blake, she flailed a bit before righting herself and landing on her feet.
Weiss watched with a twinkle in her eye. Cats really do land in their feet. She thought giggling.
Neo glared at the man from her spot on the floor. She flipped to a clean sheet of paper before ripping it out of the notepad and crumpling it into a ball. She pulled her arm back and let the paper sail straight into the man's forehead.
The paper bounced off leaving the man stock still blinking several times before wailing and bringing his large hands to cup his forehead.
"Ow! Neo!" He continued to wail as if he had been deeply injured.
Blake set a pointed look at Neo, who threw her hands up in response.
"Hey, Hey Ed." She moved to the man and gently pried his hands away from his face. "You're okay big guy."
Weiss felt a tug on her heart strings when the hands were pulled away. Ed sniffled and looked down at Blake with glossy eyes. The heiress watched Blake smile sweetly.
ugh, she's good with kids, caring, adorable. I'm screwed. She thought.
Blake turned to Neo. "Neo, that wasn't nice."
Weiss watched in amusement as Neo puffed out her cheeks and crossed her arms.
Blake's left cat ear twitched.
"Neo, you and Edwardo go in the game room and make up. Now." She said firmly.
Neo puffed out her cheeks in annoyance before grabbing Ed's hand and walking off. Blake sighed and sat down on the couch. "Sorry about them. Living in a space with a bunch of other people can get annoying for a few."
Weiss waved her off and relaxed into the couch. "It's fine, I actually like it here it's so lively."
"Yeah it sure is. I love it though. We got a training course in the back. A lot of faunus get jittery when things are quiet so we built one in the back to keep them from fighting each other."
"Do they always fight?"
Blake's ear twitched. "Nah it's not like that. It's just fights tend to happen if you're living in a space with a bunch of other people. We just wanted to make sure they had an outlet."
Weiss hummed and took a good look around the room. Various video game consoles were plugged into to large tvs. Random street signs filled the walls and the smell of assorted foods cooking lingered in the air.
"How did you come across a building like this?" Weiss asked.
"Oh uh, We sort or built it." Blake explained, motioning towards the room.
Weiss stared in at disbelief. "You build this?"
Blake wavered her off. "Of course! Not a lot of people want to sell to a group of faunus so we build this instead. Me, Yang and Ruby."
Sun strolled into the room drinking from a can of soda. He stopped and looked offended. "HEY! I helped build this too."
"Sun, you 'helped' by living up in the rafters."
"I was making sure no one was going to find our space!"
Blake rolled her eyes and threw a pillow at Sun chasing him out of the room. "In any case Me, Yang, Ruby and SUN-"
"THANK YOU!"
"Built this safe space. We take in any faunus that had it rough or doesn't have a place to stay."
Weiss giggled at Blake's and Sun's interactions. Even if they weren't related by blood, they definitely acted like siblings. "That's very noble of you Blake."
Blake blushed. Her heart pounded against her chest. "Uh it's no problem! I like to help people." She cringed at the sound of her own voice, high-pitched and nervous. "Speaking of help, how about we head out to the training area so we can get started?"
Weiss nodded and the two got up and made their way through rowdy faunus and random things laying in the floor. The faunus swallowed the lump in her throat and tried to get her bearings. She jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She whirled around to see Yang chewing on a burger.
"Dude, I saw that. It was painful." She said simply and took a bite of her burger.
Weiss didn't notice Blake stopped and kept walking towards the training area. Blake sighed and her tail twitched in aggravation. "I know Yang shut up."
Yang laughed and moved to put her arm around the faunus' shoulder. "Relax Kitten, You're going to train Weiss right? Let me be your wingman."
Blake sighed. She knew Yang meant well but that blonde always found a way to cause mischief. Blake mulled the thought over and relented. "Fine you can help."
Yang beamed and started walking towards the training area. They made it outside to see Weiss standing near the sliding door and staring outside in awe. Yang shoved Blake towards the heiress and took a bit of her burger. She turned and proudly puffed out her chest.
"Weiss welcome to our training area. This is where you can learn a huge array of skills if you decide to stick with our motley crew just a tad longer." She took another bite of her burger. "Now let's get started!"
