A/N: Here we return to the Potter Effect-verse. This is a continuation/extension of Chapters 54, 60, 62, 67, 72, 73, 77 and 85- making Potter Effect essentially the most frequent entry in Vault M2J, though I suppose it was already that by the time I got to Chapter 67.

Responding to what a guest reviewed in the previous chapter... I have little doubt that most people would prefer HP/ME X-Overs with fem!Shep over man!Shep- mostly to see a Harry/Shep pairing. Magic Effect will NOT feature a Harry/Shep pairing whether Shep is male or female, so his/her gender matter's little to Harry's plot points. As I don't write slash, there will definitely be some sort of Harry/female pairing, though exactly who it will be is still undecided. So, why not branch out and experiment with other Shep types?

And now, on to the story.

Let me know if this is Good, Bad or Ugly...

Potter Effect: Chick Flicks

Shepard was sitting on the couch when he walked in, clad in only a plain black t-shirt, pants and socks. Her boots were kicked off underneath the coffee table and her N7 hoodie was strewn across the back of the couch. She was idly working on a datapad- likely the mission reports for the Normandy she'd been putting off.

"You look awfully tired for someone who was going to spend the day in," Harry commented. His own jacket was thrown over his shoulder, his green t-shirt sticking to him as it was drenched with sweat.

"And you're looking awfully upbeat for someone who appears to have run a marathon," Shepard pointed out placing here datapad on the table.

"I'm still not off my adrenaline high of having trounced Vega, Zero and Grunt in the Arena," Harry replied with a grin. "Managed to beat your solo score too, so how was your day?"

"Fine, except Tali insisted we watch her favorite movie… Twice- immediately followed by a lengthy discussion about the movie in general," Shepard commented with a sigh. "I love her like the little sister I've always wanted… But sometimes she is so… Girly."

"She is a girl, you know. Personally, I think it's good for you," Harry replied in amusement. "Besides, I'm sure it wasn't THAT bad… What's her favorite movie?"

"Fleet and Flotilla."

Harry couldn't help but wince. "Ah."

"You sound like a vorcha when you do that," Shepard responded with a sigh.

"Sorry, I guess I should have warned you about her taste in movies beforehand," Harry replied with a smirk, trying to contain his snickers at the thought of Shepard sitting through a 'chick flick'.

"Laugh it up, Sparkle Fingers," Shepard responded, petulantly crossing her arms.

"Well, if nothing else, it explains so much," Harry said in a thoughtful tone, as he moved towards the kitchen, slinging his jacket over the stool and immediately going towards the refrigerator.

"What do you mean?" Shepard inquired.

Harry looked at Shepard with a great deal of skepticism. "You're kidding right?"

"What?"

"You really don't see it?" Harry pressed as he took out a bottle of water from the refrigerator and took a quick drink out of it.

Shepard let out a sigh of frustration. "See what?"

"Think long and hard about what you did today," Harry ordered sternly.

"We watched Tali's favorite movie of all time," Shepard replied obliviously, "Twice."

"And just what movie was that again?" Harry asked expectantly.

"'Fleet and Flotilla', why?" Shepard replied, wondering where the Master of Death, who was still giving her that damned look, was going with this vein of conversation before her face lit up in realization. "No way! Seriously!? You think Tali has a thing for Garrus?"

"Actually, I've suspected for a while that they have 'a thing' for each other, though I think Garrus might still be a bit oblivious," Harry commented. "You really had no idea? I thought all women were supposed to have a sort of sixth sense about this sort of thing."

"Well, I've never been good at all that 'girly' stuff," Shepard defended. "I'm a farm girl who grew up on the frontier with three older brothers."

"I suppose it doesn't help that hardly any of the female friends you have really fit the definition of 'girl', except maybe Kasumi," Harry agreed somewhat reluctantly.

"So, how do you know about Tali's preference in vids?" Shepard inquired curiously.

"Tali was interested in learning about Earth pop culture from about two hundred years ago and was especially interested in twentieth/twenty first century vids, so I had Kasumi acquire some for us. After you and I got back from investigating the MSV Estevanico, the three of us had a movie night," Harry told her and then turned a bit sheepish as he ran his hand through his hair.

"Amongst others, the vids Kasumi picked out were 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', 'Gone With the Wind', 'Sleepless in Seattle', and 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days'- notice a pattern there?" He didn't stop for Juliet's reply as it was a rhetorical question. He did, however, take notice of her self-satisfied smirk. "However, Tali's favorite vid of the evening, by far, was 'Titanic'. I don't think I ever thanked you for putting me on the boarding party for Jarrahe Station."

"Didn't you come back from that mission seriously injured?" Shepard asked.

"And got out of another movie night," Harry added with a slight grimace. "Which I believe consisted of watching, you guessed it, 'Fleet and Flotilla' among other intergalactic romance vids."

"You are such a male, spending a night in the infirmary just to get out of watching a chick flick or two," Shepard replied with an exasperated sigh.

"Try six," Harry responded dryly. "Tali and Kasumi are just as bad as my old friend Hermione was. We had to always be careful in limiting how many times Hermione got to pick what we watched during our own movie nights. If Ron, Ginny or I weren't with her..."

"I take it Miranda wasn't the chick flick type?" Shepard asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Thank Merlin for small mercies," Harry commented. "Of course 'Randa wasn't much for vids in general. She put so much into her work that until she met me, I don't think she even knew how to relax."

"If nothing else, you are good for 'stress relief'," Shepard stated, smirking at the Wizard's blush.

Harry cleared his throat. "While that did happen, that was hardly the only thing we did on our downtime. While you and Samara were out hunting her daughter, I was trying desperately to have a romantic evening with my then girlfriend."

"On Omega?" Shepard asked incredulously.

"There was a bet…" Harry justified, but simply shrugged off her curious expression. "It was a thing."

"One of these days we're gonna have to have a chat about this gambling habit of yours," Shepard pointed out.

"What can I say, I love a challenge," Harry defended himself. "I honestly didn't think I'd lose. The night was actually going well until Jack and Grunt managed to track us down."

"I never did get the whole story about what happened," Shepard prompted. "And how you became the first and only male dancer in the history of Afterlife."

"No power in this galaxy…" Harry firmly denying her. "I'd sooner spend the day with Tali watching chick clicks then tell that story."

"Spoilsport." Shepard pouted.
