"That never happened." Damon said to her getting up and dusting nonexistent dirt from his pants. "We should go. It's dark I'll walk you home."

She nodded and together they packed everything into the basket and silently made the journey back to the B&B.

Caroline let out a whistle opening the door as Tyler ran towards her stopping at the mat knowing he wasn't allowed indoors. She took both plates one full, one half empty and dumped them into his food bowl watching as he started to devour the contents. She sighed and patted his head before going inside.

'At least someone enjoyed my dinner.'

She shook her head and went inside to wash the dishes. She finished washing the pans earlier when she was waiting.

They had reached her door and she sighed, "Look I'm not really sorry it happened, but I understand, and it won't happen again. We're friends we we're just lost in the moment that's it." Elena said as she moved to open the door.

Damon just handed her the basket. "I should head home. Goodnight Elena."

Elena sighed as she closed the door.

'Goodnight.'

Damon opened the door to the bedroom and looked surprised when he noticed that Bonnie wasn't in her crib. He could hear the shower running in the next room and was glad that he would have a few moments to get his thought together before he saw either of his girls.

Damon walked to the closet almost tripping on a pair of heels. He picked them up and placed them in the closet before grabbing an old pair of flannel pajama pants and a shirt.

'It didn't mean anything. I'll tell her it didn't mean anything I was with Elena we- No she would ask why I was with Elena? Which would lead to me having had spent time with her instead of Mason. And while the time he spent with Elena was entirely platonic on his part he doubted Caroline would see it that way. Especially after he told her about the kiss.'

He heard the shower turn off and rubbed his temples. 'It didn't mean anything. It was a kiss, but he didn't kiss Elena, she kissed him, and he did not kiss back.'

Caroline opened the door, blinked at him sitting in the bed and made her way to the closet to hang the yellow dress she had worn earlier that evening.

"Did you go somewhere?"

"No."

Damon paused, did she sound mad? Did she somehow find out about the kiss? No. No one was around and there was no way Elena would tell Caroline.

"Oh. Your shoes were out. I put them in the closet."

"Thanks."

Damon nodded before looking around, "Where's BonBon?"

"Stefan's."

"Why?"

She shrugged her shoulders and went to get her empty glass of wine to take downstairs to the sink. Damon noticed the glass and his eyebrows rose.

"You had wine."

"Obviously."

Damon raised his arms in defense, "Did I do something wrong?" besides the obvious… well not obvious to you…

"No." She said and left the room heading to the kitchen. Damon frowned following her. 'It's not either of our birthdays, our wedding anniversary was in June, it was late July.'

He arrived in the kitchen to see her drying the glass and placing it in the cabinet then grabbing another glass and filling it with water from the pitcher they kept in the fridge.

"Caroline. What's wrong?"

"Where were you?"

Damon gulped, "Uh Mason's?"

"Why am I not surprised." She scoffed and made to go upstairs with the glass, but he blocked her.

"Caroline?"

"I made dinner."

Damon nodded she was usually the one to make dinner unless Stefan or he offered. "Sorry I missed it. Is there any left?"

"No."

He sighed placing his hands on her arms, "Okay. What did you make?"

"Doesn't matter."

"Caroline-"

"It was for us."

"Okay."

"No. Not us as in us four. I mean us! As in you and me, but you would rather go off and get drunk with Mason then be home with me."

Damon took a step back his face wincing at the anger in her tone. "That's not true."

"Then why weren't you here. You were supposed to come back from work straight here."

"How was I supposed to know you made us dinner! You didn't say anything."

"It was supposed to be a surprise!" She moved around him and headed back to bed not caring if she was taking things out of proportion. She had had the whole night planned out. Dinner, wine, just the two of them and now the night was ruined.

She turned off the light and climbed into bed facing away from the door as Damon walked in.

Damon groaned as he got into bed and tried to get her to look at him, but she just turned to the other direction.

"Blondie, I am so sorry I missed dinner. Forgive me, please." He said moving behind her placing his head on her shoulder and wrapping an arm around her waist.

"Care?"

Caroline sighed and slowly turned to face him. "I had the whole night planned for just us. It was stupid, I should have told you it's my fault. Just forget it."

"Maybe we can have dinner another night?"

Caroline smiled, "Really?"

"Yeah and I'll cook this time whatever you want."

Caroline smile widened and she leaned in to hug him. "You know when I said I had the entire night planned?"

Damon looked at her curiously tilting his head to the side, "Yeah, I'm real sorry-" "No I mean the entire night. Not just dinner."

Damon's eyes widened 'oh' "Really?"

"Mmhmm even had Stefan take Bonnie for the night."

Damon smirked, "And what exactly we're you planning for us to be doing all night?"

Caroline smirked back and kissed him happy when he pulled her on top of him. "That for one."

Damon woke up with a smile as Caroline was burrowed into his side and kissed her head.

He then kissed her forehead waking her up. She smiled and stretched slightly before placing a kiss to his lips. Maybe dinner hadn't gone as planned, but he more than made up for it.

"We should shower." She said softly moving to kiss his neck her hand moving to grab him under the covers and give him a small squeeze.

He let out a moan, "Shower sounds fantastic right now."

Letting out a laugh she let go of him and got out of bed stark naked rushing to the shower.

Hi everyone!

So only three more chapters to go! My next update shall hopefully go up on the 30th HOWEVER instead of time jumping back to present time it will just be the next day from this chapter. Why? Because there's really not that many scenes left for the film and I still have to catch you up to present time. This chapter marks a week of Delena so next chapter will be the whole second week of Delena.
