For their first anniversary, Hiccup wants to tell his wife how much she means to him through song.

A Song for Milady

Astrid was knackered. She was usually used to the demands of her desk work as a secretary but being 5 months pregnant wasn't helping her case. However tonight, she and her husband Harold "Hiccup" Haddock were celebrating their first anniversary as a married couple and they decided to celebrate it at Loki's Point, a restobar owned by their friends Tuff and Ruff Thorston. The blonde woman smiled at the thought, looking forward to a chill night out with her husband – more so that the receptionist at the front desk noticed.

"You seem pumped about something Miss Astrid." Astrid turned around to see a petite brunette woman smiling at her.

"It's Hiccup and I's first anniversary, Bonnie." She smiled back at the receptionist, Bonnie.

"Where's he gonna take you?"

"Just this bar owned by our friends. I'll tell you more about it on Monday." Astrid answered, as she walked towards the exit.

"Alright," Bonnie waved, "Enjoy your night!"

Exiting the building, Astrid made her way to the parking lot, where she saw a certain auburn-haired man leaning on the hood of his black Honda City, talking to someone on the phone. He's wearing a lime green polo shirt with 'Grab' embroidered on the left chest, brown jeans and a pair of red Nike AF1's. He hasn't noticed his wife was already there beside the car so Astrid decided to play with him a bit.

"We're on our way dude. And don't tell Ruff about our lil surprise okay?" Hiccup spoke to the person on the other line. Judging by his language, Astrid thought her husband was talking to Tuffnut.

"Alright Tuff, we'll see you later. Bye." Once the auburn haired man replaced his phone in his pocket, he was greeted by a pair of hands covering his eyes.

"Guess who?" she said playfully. Hiccup chuckled; he loved how Astrid's hormones would play tricks on her - one day, she'd blow a head gasket off of something petty, the next, she's acting like a teenager.

"I'm guessing it's my badical wife excited for our anniversary." Hiccup grabbed her wrists, before turning around to face his blonde 5 month pregnant wife. Astrid stood up on her tiptoes and placed her lips on his. Normally, she's the same height as Hiccup when wearing heels; however, she had to resort to peep-toe flats since her heels couldn't support her increased baby weight. They made out for a while, until they finally had to pull out for air.

"What was that for?" Hiccup smirked.

"Just for being the best daddy to our little one." Hiccup's hands snaked from her waist towards her pregnant belly.

"Trust me, you're gonna be as tough as your mom when you come around." he added. Astrid just laughed at his antics; she was able to release all the stressful things in her job and let loose.

"Alright daddy, let's go! I'm sure she's as hungry as me."

The drive to Loki's Point was a stressful one, being in the rush hour. Hiccup ranted at the traffic jam in front of their faces, from the motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic to taxis and buses cutting through the lanes towards the bus stops on the other side. Despite being a Grab driver, there's only a limit as to how much traffic he can tolerate in one day. His wife knew this, which is why whenever he picks her up from work, she would always kiss first then talk second. It's not because he needed to feel loved, but Astrid also needed it to cope with the stresses at work – and now, being 5 months pregnant has certainly made her more cranky than usual.

"Take it easy, babe." She held Hiccup's right hand, which was resting on the shifter.

"Funny how I should be the one telling you to take it easy." Hiccup replied sarcastically. Despite his eyes focused on the road, he can still make his wife giggle, which makes his mood better already.

"Well, you need it right now since you're driving."

The couple talked about their respective days, with Hiccup earning a milestone in passengers collected for the day, and Astrid told him her strange cravings that she shared with her colleagues, until they reached their destination an hour later. Since it's a Friday, Loki's Point is jampacked with people of all ages and professions. From college students to office managers, everyone just wanted to have a good time following the weekend.

"Damn, that's a lot of weekend warriors." Astrid remarked at the sight of a sea of cars parked at the restobar's parking lot.

"You can say that again honey. At least after this shit's done, we can just chill at home and watch Netflix all day." Hiccup added. He got out of the car, then went to the passenger side door and helped Astrid up. The couple walked up the entrance of the restobar and was greeted by a certain male Thorston twin.

"Hey guys!" Tuffnut smiled, before pulling the two in a hug. "So glad you can make it! Happy anniversary too!"

"Thanks Tuff." Astrid pulled away from the embrace. She looked around the dining area and towards the stage, where someone's performing a guitar riff.

"So, shall we eat?" Hiccup interrupted, breaking his wife's trance out of watching the performer. She nodded.

After a well needed meal, Hiccup and Astrid were full. They passed on the hard drinks, since Astrid can't drink, and Hiccup stuck with beer. A while later, Tuff excused Hiccup in an undisclosed location, leaving Astrid to the company of Tuff's twin, Ruffnut.

"Where and what are those two plotting?"

"Search me girl. But even Tuff wouldn't say anything to me." Ruff shrugged. Suddenly, the lights went dim and the stage lights lit up. The two women noticed a silhouette of a man with a guitar; when the spotlight went on, it revealed one certain auburn haired man.

"Hiccup?!" Astrid gasped, bewildered at the sight of her husband sitting on stage with a guitar. Ruff was also shocked as well.

"Alright, so this song I would like to dedicate to my divine beauty of a wife, over there." Hiccup chuckled, gesturing towards where his wife is sitting. "It's crazy how her name means exactly like that." The crowd laughed, while Astrid playfully rolled her eyes.

"Anyway, it's our first anniversary tonight and I'd like you to know that in 4 months' time, we'd welcome our baby girl." he continued. The crowd applauded, some looking at the pregnant blonde.

"So sit back, enjoy the show," Hiccup announced, then stared at Astrid's blue eyes with love. "And this one's for you, milady." Returning to his guitar, he plucked the intro of the song they were gonna perform.

From the moment I met you
I just knew you'd be mine
You touched my hand
And I knew that this was gonna be our time

I don't ever want to lose this feeling
I don't want to spend a moment apart

As Hiccup sung the verse, Astrid couldn't help but take a trip down memory lane to the first time they met – 10 years ago. It was a cold, rainy afternoon and Astrid was waiting for a van back home from school. Checking her wallet, she noticed that she didn't have enough money to pay for her fare. One boy noticed her dilemma and without hesitation, he gave Astrid some money that's exactly her fare. The two introduced themselves and since Hiccup was also waiting the same van as Astrid, they got engaged into their first convo about school life and such; they became friends.

Cause you bring out the best in me,
like no-one else can do
That's why I'm by your side
And that's why I love you

The rest of the crowd started to hum along the song as Tuff, who was a backup singer, raised his arms in encouragement.

Every day that I'm here with you
I know that it feels right (So right, so right)
And I've just got to be near you every day and every night (Every night)

And you know that we belong together (Ooh)
It just had to be you and me (Ooh)

The next memory that Astrid remembered was the day she and Hiccup went on a road trip. They were supposed to go to an amusement park and hang out as best friends, however, it didn't go as planned; from Hiccup getting lost in the town to Astrid nearly getting a broken ankle in the park. That day was also the day Hiccup confessed his feelings for his blonde best friend and shared their first kiss, symbolizing their new romantic relationship.

'Cause you bring out the best in me,
like no-one else can do
That's why I'm by your side,
And that's why I love you

During the interlude, Astrid reminisced the day she and Hiccup celebrated 42 months of dating, where he took her on a movie date and to their romantic spot. That was when Hiccup proposed to her, an event that to this day she could never get over it. She looked at the two rings on her ring finger - one is their wedding ring, the other is her engagement ring.

And you know that we belong together,
It just had to be you and me

Cause you bring out the best in me,
like no-one else can do
That's why I'm by your side

Astrid's blue eyes began to water at the hidden message of the song. It made her heart swell that her husband is so damn proud of her that he had the audacity to sing to her in front of a crowd. Ruffnut rubbed the blonde's back in an attempt to comfort her.

"He's right you know," she commented, "You really brought out the best in Hiccup."

"I know Ruff, and I love him for it." Astrid agreed, wiping the tears off her eyes.

'Cause you bring out the best in me
like no-one else can do
That's why I'm by your side
and that's why I love you

'Cause you bring out the best in me,
like no-one else can do
That's why I'm by your side
and that's why I love you

When the song ended, Astrid could feel the torrent of tears streaming through her cheeks as the crowd erupted with cheers for her and Hiccup. She made her way through the chanting audience towards the stage. When she came face to face with Hiccup, Astrid landed a punch on his shoulder, earning a round of laughter from Tuff and the audience.

"That's for serenading me in front of a crowd!" she mock hissed.

"I like having an audience, but I'd only be focusing on you honey." He took the guitar off his shoulder, then wrapped an arm around her waist.

Ignoring the chants of the crowd saying 'kiss him!', Astrid gazed at her husband's emerald eyes. "In that case, this is for-" She was cut of by Hiccup's lips on hers. Her arms wrapped around his neck as the crowd cheered for them. They stayed in this position for a while, until Hiccup pulled away, still gazing at Astrid's sapphire orbs.

"That's for everything else. Happy anniversary Astrid." Hiccup finished.

"Happy anniversary Hiccup."
