Musa walked into the dorm to find Tecna curled up under their covers, TV still playing some sort of fantasy show with the volume on low.
The musician frowned. Normally her partner was busy with school, splitting their attention between at least three screens. Whenever they had any down time, it was spent playing video games and texting. From the look of the room, they hadn't done any of that.
She tiptoed over to the bed, gently sitting herself down on the edge of the mattress. Sensing the shift, Tecna's eyes fluttered open, blinking blearily before turning their head to the disturbance. Musa smiled. "Hey."
Tecna smiled back, before yawning and stretching, blankets and pillows moving around their form. The musician waited until they were done and sitting up, looking at her. "You alright?"
"Yeah, I just got kinda dizzy," they replied, remnants of their nap still lingering in their voice. "Couldn't focus on anything, so I figured I'd lay down for a bit."
Musa nodded in understanding. Her gaze was drawn by the vast amounts of pillows and blankets piled on the bed, then to her partner buried underneath.
Following her gaze, Tecna shrugged. They moved some away, throwing them on the floor, then patted the space next to them in an invitation.
She was tired, and the prospect of cuddling with her partner was too tempting to resist. Throwing off her shoes and socks, she climbed into bed next to them, spooning under the covers. Their feet brushed up hers, and she huffed.
"Why are you wearing socks in bed?"
"Why aren't you?"
"'Cause that's weird."
"Let me live my life!"
Musa grinned, eyes drooping shut. Her arm snaked around their waist, pulling them closer. With a contented sigh, she nuzzled her face into their shoulder. "Go to sleep."
They were not about to argue.
Am I projecting? Yes, and you can't stop me.
