Tailtean Plains, Imperial Year 91

A stormy day brings down rain upon two opposing armies. As a few fight between them, a flash of light appears. A soldier looks up to see what seems to be a star in the distance. However, that star suddenly grows bigger as something strikes the earth with an explosion forming a ring of fire around it. Following this, a muscular figure lands in a kneel. It was a man with a greying hair and matching beard who then reaches for the weapon nearby. The armored force stares for a moment before charging at the man.

His answer to this is a glow from the sword in his hand. Similar lights begin to shine as well. Soon, the man stands before a light green haired woman. The two just stare the other down before ome ot the man's army jumps at her, sword ready to slice into her. However, one of the woman's troops stops his attack. "Lady Serios!" calls out another soldier. The sword weilder cuts through the soldiers as if they were butter under a hot knife.

Now in more of an opening suited to a duel, the man looks at Lady Serios to which she keeps her stoic expression. As the sun breaks through the clouds, the sword breaks into a chain-like form. The elderly looking warrior swipes near the ground creating a shockwave that sends more of Serios' army away. Serios readies her own sword, now with a killing intent in her eyes, as she begins to move forward.

She soon breaks into a run and after a moment, the two swords clash. Many strikes are connected between blades. Serios narrowly avoids the tip piercing her after the opposing weapon was made whip-like again. The man swings it which it then wraps around her sword. However, she took this as a chance to get his sword out of his hand by pullingas hard as she can then discarding her own. This was the best opening to reach her now disarmed enemy. A swift palm strike and kick to his face got him on his back, to which she then drew a dagger she had on her and held it to his neck. "Tell me Nemesis," she ordered through her rage, "Do you recall the Red Canyon?!" This name seemed to be familiar to Nemesis as his eyes grew a bit wide. Before he could even say the first word, Serios held her dagger high with "YOU'LL DIE FOR THAT!" The dagger repeatedly went into his chest as she repeated "Die!" over and over again. As she slowly calmed down, she added more to her words. "You took everything from me. Everything I loved..." she panted out before looking up to her troops. The army began to raise their weapons with a victory shout in her triumph! This filled her heart with joy, but her mind was elsewhere. She went over to the sword Nemesis had been using and set the guard to her face closing her eyes. "He's gone now...Mother..." was softly said to it.

A sleeping girl on a stone throne awoke with a yawn and rubbed an eye. Her hair would easily spill onto the ground if it wasn't tied up. She looked over to someone that seemed to be in the same space she is residing, which can simply be called a void or an abyss. "How curious," she said with surprise on her face, "How could you have gotten here?" She then propped her head up on a hand and waved the figure over. "It's quite rude to interrupt a moment of repose, but I wish to have a look at you. Come closer." A woman walks up to the girl. "Haven't seen the likes of you before. Who might you be?"

"I'm a mortal." stated the woman.

"I see. You must have a name as well. Go on."

The woman looked down for a second, as if she has to remember it.

"Bylene." said what sounded like a whisper to her.

"Bylene."

The girl nodded slightly in thought. "I'm still not accustomed to human names." She looked back at Bylene. "By which moon and day were you born into this world?"

"Er...you're on your own here. Although mine would be the 26th day of the 12th month."

Bylene questioned the voice she's hearing to herself before looking to the girl again. "24th of Wyvern Moon."

The girl seemed a little bewildered. "Wonders never cease. It seems we share the same day of birth. Very strange." She then yawns again. "This all feels...familiar. Perhaps I require another nap. It is almost time to begin..."

"Hey, wake up!" called out a man's voice.

Bylene found herself in a hut with someone standing nearby. "Were you having that dream again?" asked the man. He had blonde hair with a small braid in the back and a beard lining his chin connecting to sideburns. She stood up and stepped over to him thinking if to mention the war or the girl. "I was seeing a war." Bylene replied with a small yawn.

"A vast battle between two armies right? Hasn't been one like that in three centuries." He shrugged. "In any case, push it out your mind. Idle minds on a battlefield is a combination for disaster. Risking your life is part of being a mercenary. Being unaware is liable to get you killed."

Bylene nodded. "I understand."

The man nodded. "Good. We need to get moving, our next job is in the Kingdom." He sighs. "Remember, it's a long ways from here so we need to start at dawn."

"Of course."

He looked over by the door and shook his head some. "Is everyone already waiting outside? Good grief."

A mercenary busts in with panic. "Jeralt! Sorry to barge in sir, but your presence is needed!" he explained.

"Slow down, what happened?"

"There isn't much time. Please come with me!"

"Fine, come on Bylene."

"Right."

After a run, Jeralt stops before a trio. One was a blonde haired young man with a blue cape of sorts, another was another young man with a yellow one and a tan skin tone, and the last was a white haired lady with a red cape. Bylene stopped next to him looking at them. "Pardon the intrusion, we would not have done so if the situation weren't dire." explained the blonde youth. "What do you bunch of kids want at this hour?" Jeralt asked in an exhausted tone.

The blonde one puts a hand over his heart. "We're persued by a group of bandits. I hope you could be of assistance and lend your support."

"Bandits huh?"

The lady nods. "It's true. We were attacked at our camp." she states bluntly.

The tan youth brushes some of his hair to the side. "We got separated from our compainions, so we're ournumbered. Pretty sure they want our lives, not to mention gold." he added despite his slight smile.

Jeralt puts a hand to his chin. "You're all awfully calm about this." He looks over the three. "Those uniforms..."

A mercenary runs up before giving a salute to Jeralt. "Sir, the bandits are almost here and there's a lot of them!" he states.

"Must have followed you here. We can't abandon the village now." Jeralt then turns to Bylene. "We have work to do, let's move."

"I don't know what's going on, but let's... Agh my head..."

Bylene looked around vaguely then nodding to Jeralt before they all follow the mercenary.
