Chapter 17 Love is Stronger than Death
Strelitzia's POV
The Next Day
I sat with Stitch huddled between stuffed animals as we both wore army helmets. Elrena on the other hand just laid on the bed.
Lilo walked to the front of the room in her own army helmet and saluted us as we saluted back.
"At ease", Lilo commanded.
Then, she pulled down a wall map with certain areas circled in red.
"When Elvis was in the army, he got things done", she revealed. "Here's a map that shows every place Elvis went to in Kauai. Our mission, go to these places, where the king will give us our idea for our hula. To the hovercraft!"
One Hour Later
"Thanks to a certain sister of mine, we'll have to walk."
And so, we spent the day going to all the places on the map.
At every place we went, Stitch would act up and start acting wild.
We were now by a bench on a cliff.
"This is the exact bench where Elvis sat in Blue Hawaii", Lilo revealed.
Then...we all sat on the bench.
"Okay Elvis", Lilo started. "We are ready to receive an idea for our hula!"
One Hour Later
We were still waiting for our idea.
"Kid", Elrena started. "I don't think Elvis is going to give you a hula idea."
"There's plenty of other places on the map that we can go to", Lilo revealed.
Then...it began to rain.
We'd better hurry", Lilo said.
Then...the map got washed away!
We chased after it...but it ended up being run over in the road.
"We're sunk", Lilo stated as she tossed the map aside.
She started walking away, but Stitch just got onto the ground and started crying.
Lilo came back and pulled him away.
Together we found shelter under a gas station roof.
"I know it's hard to keep the faith sometimes", Lilo started as she dried Stitch off. "But if you don't give up on Elvis, Elvis won't give up on you."
After Lilo said this, two men started playing a song.
"That song", Lilo started. "It's about the Hawaiian goddess Hi'iaka."
"Hey", one of the men started. "That's right Lilo."
"That's a great story", Lilo revealed. "Friendship, jealously, death by molten lava! Do you know what this means?"
After Lilo asked this...she and Stitch yelled out...
"Thank you Elvis", they yelled in union before spinning around together. "We got our hula!"
"Care to explain what the story is about", Elrena asked.
"This is how the story goes", Lilo started. "Once, there was a beautiful goddess named Hi'iaka, and a handsome mortal named Lohi'au. They were as close as two people could be. But one day, Pele, the volcano goddess, grew jealous of their friendship. So she took Lohi'au and threw him into a volcano filled with molten lava! Hi'iaka discovered his body in a cavern by a sea cliff, and she stayed with him, praying to the gods to bring Lohi'au's spirit back, and it worked! Her love brought him back to life, which proving that love is more powerful than death."
