Chapter 21 Romantic Advice

One Hour Later

It seems what I said got through to Kenai.

We were currently on our way to Hokani Falls.

While we were doing so, we ran into the pair of moose we met last time I was here.

If I remember correctly, their names were Rutt and Tuke.

"Hey look", Tuke greeted. "It's big bear, and pink rose."

"Beauty aye", Rutt said.

"Okay", I started in annoyance. "When exactly did you come up with that nickname for me?"

"Boy are we glad to see you", Tuke revealed completely ignoring my question.

"Yeah yeah", Rutt agreed. "'Cos we finally found a couple of real moosettes. Right there down by the stream."

With that, Rutt and Tuke looked at and started taking to two moosettes, who just seemed annoyed.

"They don't look that very interested", I pointed out.

"Yeah", Rutt agreed. "They won't give us the time of day aye."

"So", Tuke started. "What we was thinking is you could help us with, you know, an opening line, like: hey, I see you like to eat twigs."

"Or how about a sonnet", Rutt suggested. "Like: shall I compare thee to a summer's dew?"

"I don't think that that's how it goes", I pointed out. "Also, how do you guys know that sonnet? Let alone what a sonnet is?"

"Gee", Tuke said once again ignoring my question. "Forget the brainy stuff. They're not owls."

"I think that you've probably just offended people who like Shakespeare", I pointed out.

"I like: hey ladies, nice dewlaps. Are those things rea..."

"Excuse me", Nita said in annoyance as her and Koda finally walked up to us.

"Oh gees", Tuke said in fear.

"Hunter", Rutt yelled out. "Hunter!"

"Run", Tuke yelled. "Bye! Every moose for themselves!"

With that, Rutt and Tuke ended up bumping into each other and hiding behind Kenai.

"Act like we're not here", Tuke commanded.

"It's okay", Koda reassured as he walked up to us. "This is Nita. She's with me, Kenai and Lauriam."

"She is", Tuke asked in shock.

"Oh", Rutt said. "Well, pleases to meet ya aye. How's it goin? I'm Rutt, and this is my bro..."

"Kenai", Nita started. "What's the holdup? We have to setup camp on that far peak before sundown. Oh, nice to meet you."

"Scary, isn't she", Kenai asked.

"Let's go", Nita commanded. "We're running out of daylight."

"Nita, calm down", Kenai commanded. "We got plenty of time."

"A smart traveler always allows for unexpected delays", Nita stated.

"She has a point", I pointed out, especially when I remembered that helping them was a delay.

"Well", Kenai started. "This won't be a delay if you let me have a minute to give these guys a little romantic advice."

This caused Nita to burst out laughing.

"Romantic advice", she asked. "From you?"

With that, Nita and Koda turned around and tried to leave, but it seems like what the former said just made Kenai want to help Rutt and Tuke more.
