Chapter 35 I'll Come Back to You

Sora's POV

I opened my eyes...and smiled at what I saw.

Kairi was sleeping with her arms protectively over Kokoro and Hikari, who were sleeping on her chest.

I moved closer to and kissed her.

Her eyes fluttered opened, and she smiled at me.

"Hey", she greeted softly.

"Hey", I greeted. "How did you sleep?"

"Nowadays, any sleep is a good one", Kairi replied before looking lovingly at Kokoro and Hikari. "You know, with these two keeping us up all the time."

It's was true. Despite the fact that Kokoro and Hikari were only about a week old and half old, they had already caused me and Kairi to lose a good amount of sleep.

With that, I grabbed Kokoro from Kairi's chest and she slowly sat up with Hikari in her arms.

Just as we had finished doing this, there was a gentle knock at the door.

"Hello", Goofy whispered softly so he wouldn't wake Kokoro and Hikari. "Garsh. I hope I didn't interrupt ya guys' nap."

"Don't worry Goofy", I reassured said person. "Kairi and I were already awake."

"Well that's good", Goody said in relief. "'Cause your friends are here to see you. They say that it's very urgent."

Ten Minutes Later

Our friends had come into the room and had just finished explaining what was going on.

"The rest of the Sinful Energy is at that castle we were at five months ago", I asked in shock.

"That's right", Xigbar replied. "The Master of Masters too. And the only the seven formerly branded ones can get to him."

"How do we know that you're not just leading us into a trap", Kairi asked angrily.

"In case you forgot, I'm the one who brought Sora to you and your kids", Xigbar reminded Kairi. "I may be a bad guy, but I'm also a father."

With that, Kairi and I looked at Xigbar in shock before looking at each other...and nodding.

"Okay then", I started. "Then what's the plan?"

"Go to the castle and see what the Master of Master's wants", Ephemer replied.

"What", Kairi asked in shock. "But it may still be a trap."

"We're aware of that", Marluxia revealed. "But we don't have any other options."

"Lauriam's right", Brain agreed. "Either we go to the Master of Masters, or he comes to us."

With that, I looked at Brain in shock.

Then, I looked at Kairi before looking down at Kokoro and Hikari.

"Please let me talk about it with Kairi", I pleaded.

Brain nodded before leaving with everyone.

"Kairi", I started. "I..."

"You should go."

"What", I asked in shock. "But..."

"Brain's right Sora", Kairi stated. "Either you go to the Master of Masters, or he's going to come to us."

After Kairi said this...she began to cry.

"I don't want you to go", she started. "But, I think it's the only way."

After Kairi said this, I wrapped my arms around her.

"I'll come back to you."

"I know you will."
