Chapter 36 Together

Marluxia's POV

The Next Day

We were all in the castle's main hallway.

"So", Sora started. "We each go down a hallway?"

"Yep", Xigbar replied.

"Where do they all lead to", Ephemer asked.

"No idea", Xigbar replied. "That's for you guys to find out."

"If that's the case", Brain started. "I have only one thing to say. Be careful everybody. This is most likely a trap, so keep your guard up."

With that, everybody nodded.

Then, they all walked into their separate halls, which were closed off as soon as they walked in.

Just as Strelitzia was about to walk into her's, I grabbed onto her hand and started pulling her away.

"Big brother", she started in confusion. "What are you doing?"

"Getting you away from Ventus", I replied.

This made Strelitzia angry.

She glared at me before pulling her hand away from mine.

"Now is not the time for that big brother", she pointed out angrily. "If we don't do this, who knows what the Master of Masters is going to do to us!"

Hearing this made me look at Strelitzia in shock.

"We'll deal with this later", she stated.

Then...she turned around and ran into the hall.

"Wait Strelitzia", I pleaded.

But it was too late, as her hall had already been closed off.

I growled in anger before walking into my hall.

As I was walking through it...a memory started playing on the mirrored walls.

I looked at it, and saw...Ventus.

He was curled up into a ball inside a house.

I walked in and glared at him in anger.

I walked up to him...and summoned my Keyblade.

I held it over him, but he just continued to sit still.

"Aren't you going to do anything", I asked angrily.

"No", Ventus replied bluntly.

With that, I was going to bring my Keyblade down on him...but instead...I began to cry.

This caused Ventus to look at me in shock.

"What's the point", I asked myself. "It's not going to bring her back."

With that, I dropped onto my knees and began crying on the floor.

A moment later, Ventus hugged me.

"I'm sorry", he apologized as he began to cry. "I'm so sorry. This is all my fault."

After Ventus said this, I wiped my tears away before looking at him.

"No", I stated. "It's not your fault. It's Darkness'."

"I'm scared Lauriam", Ventus revealed. "What if Darkness makes me do another terrible thing?"

"I don't know", I replied honestly. "But I do know one thing."

After I said, I stood up before holding out my hand.

"We'll find a way to defeat Darkness together Ven."

With that...the memory faded from the mirror.

Then, I turned around...and saw Ventus and Strelitzia.

I walked up to the former...and put my hands on his shoulders.

"Together", I started. "Together we will make sure that Darkness doesn't hurt anybody ever again."

After I said this, Ven nodded.

"Together."
