Chapter 4

Lucy POV

Laxus and I stopped short of the guild doors

"Well... here's to the first day of the rest of our lives" Laxus said, giving me a kiss on the cheek and then opening the double doors as he, Wendy, and I walked into the guild. When it was announced to the guild that Laxus and I were dating, we were greeted with cheers and whoops from both of our teams and the entire guild. Laxus and I both agreed to go on jobs with our significant others teams. As we were talking with our teams our Guilld master Makarov came out of his office and bellowed

"LAXUS! LUCY! MY OFFICE NOW! YOU BRATS!" Laxus giggled as we went up the steps into the office and shut the doors.

Laxus pulled a chair out for me and I sat down and then he sat down into the chair next to mine. He faced his grandfather with a bored look on his face and then nodded for Gramps to explain what was going on.

"So you two are dating?" he asked. We looked at each other and nodded. "So does that mean I get grandbabies?" he asked teasingly, a smile in his eyes and on his face. Laxus leaned over and swatted at him. "Congrats brats! Laxus don't fuck this up" I smiled and laughed. Makarov shot me a sweet smile and then his tiny self came around the massive dark brown oak desk to hug me and fist bump Laxus. He grabbed my hands and looked up at me and nodded "Lucy, I'm so happy you've managed to tame my dear grandson. Because of you he's back in the guild and he's a changed man. You've made this old fart happy for sure." Makarov smiled. My eyes threatened to spill over with happy tears as Laxus gaped at me, his stormy gray eyes grew wide.

"No please dont cry Lucy!" he exclaimed. I nodded and bent down to hug Makarov. After he dismissed is, Laxus and I went back into the brightly colored guild to celebrate with our friends. Unfortunately we didn't realize that soon we'd be hit with bad news. As we sat down at the table Cana came running up in tears.

"Lucy where's Master?! I need help!" she was sobbing hysterically.

"Oh Mavis, Cana whats wrong how can we help?" Laxus asked. Cana looked up at Laxus' 6ft 6 muscular frame.

"It's Gildarts! I tried to call him on the lacrima to let him know about you and Lucy and I got no answer, I used the card he gave me and no answer so then I ran a reading on him and I think he's in danger!" She broke down further as Laxus went to go hold her. "I just want to make sure my dad is ok, I can't get any magical read on him at all"

Tears started welling up in my chest. Gildarts had been like a father to me because Cana was my best friend. Many a night Cana and i would go over and play cards with him and hang out and I'd cook us all dinner. Anxiety started wrecking around inside of me. Laxus looked at me starting to tear up and pulled me into the hug too as me and Cana just stood there sobbing

I held Cana and the three of us just stood there. I could tell Laxus was angry and hurt and sad. Finally I pulled away with a determined look on my face.

"Guys, Gildarts wouldn't want us to just stand here and cry! We have to go and find him. That's the Fairy Tail way! Get in touch with our fellow guilds in Fiore including Sabertooth, Blue Pegasus and Mermaid Heel. Especially Sabertooth they have dragon slayers that may be able to pick up his scent!" I exclaimed.

Laxus nodded in agreement. "We aint a bunch of pussies, we are Fairy Tail we fight for our nakama!" he growled to the whole guild. The entire guild agreed and we started planning on how to save Gildarts.

I called Sabertooth on the communication lacrima and was met with a very startling piece of news.

"Hi Lucy!" Sting from Sabertooth who was also the master said over the lacrima

"Hello Stingy!" I replied. "We've been having issues tracking down one of our Guildmates and my best friend's blood father, Gildarts Clive. Cana did

a reading on him to try to find out where he is and she can't even sense his magical power. She is incredibly distraught and I myself am upset as well." Sting's eyes over the video seemed concerned and worried. He was with his flying Exceed cat Lector.

"Well Lucy, we haven't heard from him and I understand he was supposed to be in our area for a job request, is that correct?" he asked. I nodded.

"Aye, He was doing an S class quest that involved bandits we haven't heard from him in days and Cana was giving him a recent piece of news in my life and he didnt answer. We think he was either captured and knocked out because she doesn't sense his magic at all. Or something worse could've happened." Sting put his hands on his chin and sat in thought for about a minute and a half or so before speaking.

"Luce.. we will send Minerva to try and see if she can sense him. We'll let you know what we can find. " I nodded

"Thank you, Sting-Sama," I replied, slightly bowing. Hearing that Cana calmed down a bit. She turned to me her lip slightly wobbling.

She bowed to Sting and then I hung up the lacrima. She smiled as Laxus looked down and gave her a reassuring look.

"Cana, we've got this, this is Sabertooth and Fairy Tail two of the strongest guilds in Fiore. We will get your father and our nakama back," I said, looking at Laxus who's stormy gray eyes met mine with a reassuring look. Makarov agreed.

"We wait for Sabertooth's call, I'm sure he's fine. It's Gildarts we are talking about here, He isnt like Macao."

"HEY!" Macao yelled from his stool.

The guild laughed. Cana, Laxus and I excused ourselves and left for the day. I had told Cana she could stay with me and Laxus agreed to stay as well to make sure me and Cana were going to be ok.
