Doctor John doesn't belong to me
Love Comes
Cha Yo-Han forced himself to ask the question again. "Doctor Kang, I heard a noise. What is going on?"
Silence. Again.
Si-young wasn't answering. Something had to be very wrong. He asked again, and again he didn't get an answer. "Si-young, say something," he begged to no avail.
Suddenly he was conscious of where he was and mostly of the fact that his residents, and especially Mi-rae, Si-young's sister were looking at him in concern.
"Call Dr. Lee," he told Mi-rae and he forced himself to walk calmly to the exit. It wouldn't do for his residents to think that he was overly concerned with Si-young's condition, and yet it was all he do not to force himself into the sealed-off room.
When he got to the exit he ran, forcing back tears. He wasn't going to be too late to save Si-young. He couldn't be too late to save her, it would surely kill him faster than the ticking bomb in his body would. He knew without a doubt, and he was almost sure that he'd always known from the time he'd met her in prison, he loved Si-young.
He loved Si-young.
He had never thought that he would ever find somebody to love, let alone somebody who would love him. They had never said the words and Cha Yo-Han didn't think he could even ever bring himself to say them aloud to her but he knew in his heart of hearts that he would love her until he died.
He remembered how surprised – and glad he'd been when he'd found her knocking at his door earlier that day. He had been quite unprepared for her anger at his having called in sick. She'd been worried and afraid, he could tell even without her telling him and instead of being grateful that she cared about him – she'd spent the night getting to know all she could about his condition, and he was pretty sure she was also going to try her best to find a way to help him.
He didn't deserve her, and he didn't want to keep her from living her life to the fullest; because what kind of a life could she have with him.
No.
He needed to push away from him. And he had, although he didn't think Si-young would stop caring about him. That wasn't her nature. Not at all.
But now, as he watched the security footage from her hitting her head and losing consciousness, he knew he would do everything in his power save her and failing that he would be there with her until the very end.
It was selfish he knew but then again since when wasn't love selfish.
Yes, he would go into that room and make sure that his S-young was fine.
