Chapter 7. This is the last chapter of what I had written in advance. I just finished chapter 8 today and will upload it someday. I just hope that this story is fine at it's current state. Salsa
"Where is Atlas?" Tomoe asked while handing out cards.
The peerage looked around but couldn't see him. "Maybe he went outside?" Momo halfly asked while looking out into the rainy night.
Everyone sat in the cleaned up dining room waiting for the game to start. "I don't care, let's start. I mean, you got me low enough to play UNO with you, I don't need that thief to steal my cards or to laugh at me if I lose."
"Raynare, that's sounds..." Sona stopped in her tracks only to nod in agreement. "That sounds like Atlas."
"See?" Raynare shook her head. Everyone just heard a rock being smashed and turned to the direction of the sound while the former fallen angel sighted. "I just wish he would be normal."
"I'll go and see what he is doing." Tsubasa exclaimed while standing up and leaving the rest of her teammates.
Outside Tsubasa only made out Atlas figure with a shovel, smashing the tombstones of his parents. "What are you doing?" She asked the drenched boy.
"Honoring my parents." He spoke out quietly before hitting the stone again. "Any problems with that?"
"No! No, no, no. Everything is fine." She replied instantly only to walk closer to him. "Aren't you going to get a cold?"
"I don't care. I like it." Atlas answered while starting to dig into the ground.
"What do you mean?" She asked again.
"The rain. I like it. The water pearls reflect my magic back into my eyes. I can't steal when it rains and my instincts turn themselves off. I can be normal when it rains. The moment I activate my ability I am blind and don't see a single thing. Also, it's a good feeling." He explained while digging further down.
"I understand, I think." She joked and much to her surprise she heard him laugh. "Do you need company?"
"Aren't you getting a cold?" Atlas asked in return.
Tsubasa just laughed and looked at the tall boy. "Are you concerned about my health?"
"Maybe. I mean, I already healed you once. And I saw you naked covered in blood and cuts. For many men that's a disgusting sight, but I liked it." He admitted with a smile.
While Tsubasa was a bit scared, she still blushed. "So, Tsubaki doesn't want a relationship with you?" She said, quickly changing the topic.
"Yeah. Something about reputation in school. Thing's I don't care about. Then she said that this was exactly the thing she talked about." Atlas explained while looking at Tsubasa.
"Well, I wouldn't turn you down like that." She brought out with all her strength while her crush just shrugged his shoulders.
"You should talk with Tsubaki about it. I am currently only interested in opening my father's grave and destroying his skull. I don't have any emotional bonds currently and don't think I will develop any near future." Tsubasa just looked shocked at him.
"You, you mean that you just want sex?" She asked while he shook his head.
"Anything that had to do with physical relationships. From the sacred hand holding to kissing, hugs, sharing a bed and sex." He explained before shoving the shovel deep into the ground. "I just don't think that I can feel love for anyone at the moment." He looked saddened but after Tsubasa thought a bit, she understood.
"Then go out with me!" She yelled with all her strength and reddened face.
"Huh? Why would you want to go out with me when I just told you that I might never love Tsubaki or anyone else." He asked just for the girl to lose a tear.
"Just because you don't love anyone, that doesn't mean that no one loves you." Tsubasa answered with a shaky voice. "I've liked you since you joined the school. You've always been different. Arrogant and selfish? Yes. A sarcastic shit bag who only wants the best for himself? Hell yes! But also the guy who stole a vending machine during the break. You are insane, mentally unstable, bloodthirsty, a total pervert and you have the worst jokes on earth. But all that are traits that I like. I may not be the only one who likes them, but I am the only one who likes you enough to admit it." She finally finished while Atlas just stood there stunned.
"Normally, I would turn you down. Just like the other girls I don't even know the name of. God am I sick of them. But I would have never thought that someone actually likes me. I mean, Tsubaki does but only did after she saw that we aren't that different." He said while looking her deeply in the eyes. "That's a yes. From now on, we are in that relationship you want. There are some disclaimers that I need to tell you later about, but for now, enjoy it." Atlas said while Tsubasa looked frozen at him.
"We...are...a...couple?" She only felt him pushing her back inside the house while he stayed outside.
Tsubasa looked to the left only to see the others standing next to the window, acting like they never listened. "Soooo, you and Atlas? The real couple now?" Tsubaki asked, a bit jealous.
"I don't care about my reputation as much as you do." Tsubasa smirked and walked past the queen right into the next bathroom.
"Ouuuh, that must have hurt." Raynare exclaimed while the others nodded silently.
"Just wait until you are asleep bitch." Tsubaki hissed at the woman before walking upstairs.
"Shit, she sleeps with us." Raynare realized before walking back to their room.
"Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that she sleeps with them?" Genshirou asked while the others nodded in agreement.
"Maybe Raynare is a lesbian and only sleeps next to Atlas to get closer to woman." Reya exclaimed while the others shook their heads.
"No, maybe, i don't know. It's not my business and that's it. I am glad I don't care for once." Sona said before walking off to the room she shared with Reya and Momo.
Sona's and Atlas eyes were twitching. The whole peerage was standing in the garden where two coffins were laying open. "I only dug out my father's grave. I didn't even open it." Atlas explained while looking at footprints on the ground that looked like dead grass.
"Pack your stuff, we are leaving." Sona ordered while looking at Atlas, who followed the footprints to the small forest behind the house. "Found anything?"
"Either something that died took them, or they are kind of still alive. Both is bad, but my parents being alive is the version that is easier to handle." Atlas said while going back inside. "You shouldn't stay outside alone Sona."
"Yeah, I'm coming." She said and walked into the house.
The young Paimon stood in the basement while the others waited upstairs. "Fuck you dad." He exclaimed while placing a simple empty card on the ground. His eyes lit up as did a few runes on the card.
He stood up and walked upstairs again. "Well, let's go then." Genshirou exclaimed while the others walked out as fast as possible.
"Noone forgot something?" Atlas asked while looking at the others.
"My sword!" Tomoe yelled while running back only to be lifted up by her classmate and bent over his shoulder.
"Forget that thing, it's gone by now." He spoke while carrying her into the bus.
Everyone just looked back to the house where multiple dark figures were looking at them through the blinds. One of them holding Tomoe's sword. "What are they?" Momo asked carefully.
"I don't know." Tsubaki answered while the bus drove off.
"Well, at least we know that the power to steal sacred gears is in this house." Atlas exclaimed happily while everyone looked horrified at him. "What? I see this as an absolute win."
"So, Rias lost? Despite Yubelluna and Ravel drinking a drop of holy water? Unbelievable. They had ten days to train and managed to fail so hard?" Ruruko asked while Tsubaki just nodded.
"Riser defeated Asia, Issei, Akeno and Rias on his own. Must have been a great sight. We are invited to the engagement party. And when I say "we" I mean me and Tsubaki. I wouldn't want Atlas and Raynare at this party anyways." Sona just exclaimed in a blue dress ready to teleport to the Phenex Mansion.
As soon as Sona was gone everyone turned to Atlas only to see him glitching in his transparent state. "Not good." Reya said as soon as he vanished.
Atlas kept a serious look on his face while picking up the card in his basement. The light went on from the movement sensor only for Atlas to smile as he faced a sword. "Now let's get you out of here." He pulled out sword after sword and dropped them on the ground only to vanish. Then he threw the gold bars and jewels all on the ground who followed the swords and disappeared.
He finally uncovered a small chest and opened it. He grabbed the first book inside it and opened it while walking upstairs with the chest tied to his back. He heard whispers and cries as well as footsteps and scratches.
"Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen." He prayed out loudly without flinching and was met with mind breaking cries while repeating the Lord's Prayer.
He walked around the house picking up stuff with his nose slowly starting to bleed and his eyes turning red. His hand started to shake more with every word he prayed out.
He stumbled across a broken sword and picked it up before throwing it into a bag filled with objects that he needed.
He finally returned to the living room and opened the box again. "Mom, Dad. You created a monster." He saw as the dark figures fell down from the stairs before running at him while he casually opened another book that had not a single word written in his language.
"Praise the lord, all ye nations, laud Him, all ye peoples." Atlas yelled out in hebrew. He took a deep breath while the dark figures stopped and looked at him. Blood pouring out of his nose, mouth and ears while crimson tears rolled down his cheek as he continued to read. "For His mercy is great towards us and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Hallelujah."
Before anything happened, a shockwave of light shot out of him and set the entire house ablaze while he just grabbed everything and stole it.
"It's fine. We can always get a new sword." Tomoe said while looking at the bleeding boy. The others were already trying to find the cause of the blood but only managed to stop it. "At least you are still alive."
"I will get you a new sword, a better one." He promised with a smile before closing his eyes and laying down on his bed.
"What are these books?" Reya asked as he picked up one of the books in the chest. "This one is a bible, but the others? It hurts reading them and I can't understand it. And one book is completely sealed." She explained while putting everything except one book into the chest.
"That's hebrew." Tsubasa answered as she opened the book. "Must be a translation of the bible."
Everyone just looked at the bleeding boy and then too Raynare. "Why did he save these books?" She asked while taking the chest.
"I don't know, but he went through great pain to get them and we should keep them safe until he wakes up." Momo explained. "Just as a precaution."
Everyone just looked into the bag again to find one last picture. A picture of a girl not older than 15 years. "Who is she?"
Everyone just stared at the girl with golden hair and golden eyes. A warm smile, a charming body and a halo hovering above her head.
