Cory Coleman walked up to the sheldenorf institute museum at exactly 13:30 in the afternoon with her classmates.
Mrs primrose's class was there on a feildtrip, and Cory had been chosen to lead her group into the museum.

"ok everyone," announced Cory at the top of the stairs, "i understand that i have been chosen to lead a quite rowdy bunch, but fear not," her group, 4 boys and 2 girls, weren't really listening. "for i will make sure that you are in tip-top shape for the whole trip." Cory lowered her eyebrows, "and if not," she leaned onto the group, "there WILL be consequences. Do i make myself clear?"

"yeah sure, whatever." groaned miles, tapping at his phone. everyone else nodded and Continued listening. Cory glared at him.
"your the last person i want goofing off," she stamped her foot over his toe, squishing it painfully, "do i make myself clear?"

"yeah yeah whatever." groaned miles, going back to his phone. Cory snatched it from his hand. "hey!" shouted miles,"give that back!" Cory slipped it into her back pack. "we are here for an educational experience. mobile games are NOT that."
she continued walking into the museum, and the rest of the group followed her.

"Welcome!" cheered Sheldon as they entered the door, "to the sheldenorf institute museum. i will be your guide today, through the wondrous world of science!" he looked at his clipboard. "ill take it from here," said Cory, putting a hand on his shoulder, "I've been here a million times." Sheldon looked at his clipboard again. "but we have a new exhibit!" he said. "hmm," replied Cory, "well in that case you'd better lead the way." she gestured to the rest of the museum. Sheldon nodded, and then turned to face the group.
"come children! I'm sure you'll be delighted!" he scurried along the hallway, and everyone followed him, Cory at the front. "i wouldn't get you'r hopes up," said Cory, "this is a rather tough bunch." however, Sheldon ignored her.

they came upon a glass window near the ground, slanting diagonally, with a velvet curtain over it. "this, children," said Sheldon, "is the new exhibit." it was now that the group began to pay attention, even miles. Sheldon pulled back the curtain to reveal an octoling around Cory's age, in horrible condition. her tentacles had been separated into so many thin strands, they were unrecognizable. her limbs were loosely stitched together, barley holding the long slits running all across them. only her face remained untouched by a knife and needle and thread. but the girl didn't seem to notice. she was completely unaware. the girl walked up to another window, and looked surprised, almost as if she could see the museum. Cory slapped her hand over her mouth. "what have you DONE to her?" she asked. "do not worry," replied Sheldon, "her brain has been chipped. she cannot see us, nor her injuries. each day she is operated on, but she feels no pain. it will be over soon. she will be human." Sheldon smiled sinisterly, but only for a split second.
no, Cory thought. He's gone barmy. they cant possibly to this to a poor innocent girl. "haha, cool!" giggled miles. he was having the time of his life. he nudged Cory. "you were right, the museum IS cool!" Cory glared at him. miles scooted back.

suddenly, the girl screamed. it was almost as if she had NOTICED the people operating on her arm. a wave of hope washed over Cory. maybe she DID notice. maybe there was still a chance! Cory pressed her hand against the glass, and leaned in so her face was close.

"i will get you out of here," she whispered, "i promise, you WILL be free."
