Girl with shoulder-length dark black hair with some shorter strands hanging above her eyes kept flipping through the pages of the book with those feamine fingers befitting of a girl, her cerulean eyes trail words from words and went straight to the next chapter.
Naruto observed her face while Yui started to read the next chapter.
Her eyes glanced towards him.
"…..It's kinda hard to concentrate if you stare like that, you know!?"
"Sorry, I'll look away"
Naruto hurriedly looked away towards the book he was holding in his hands as he realized he shouldn't distract her from reading.
But he still kept glancing at her face intently from time to time, and she gave a really conflicted-looking frown.
It's been almost a weeks since he made friends with her and in that time reading in library during lunch and free period has become their routine of sort, he's still having hard time getting along with his classmates, it's not like he is in bad water with them like it was the case with his middle school, compare to his middle school classmates, his high school classmates are way better. It's just it was harder for him to bond with them.
"Hmm…"
She flipped the last chapter pages to get a quick look over.
Naruto stared furiously at her sidelong face.
She was reading another's books recommended by him after his last recommendation turned out to be really good so she is willing to give this book a try as well, and by Looks of it, she's almost at the climax of the story.
He could tell she was immersing herself deeper and deeper into the world of fiction. Naruto held his breath, seemingly entranced by her face, he recalled himself in her place when he read this book, and imagined the scenery she would conjure in her mind.
He felt his excitement rising watching her flipped through the golden chapter of the book.
A soft gasp from Yui.
It was the first plot twist. The expression on her face changed as she was captivated by the story.
Naruto lips started twitching upwards.
Yui gave him a quick glance, he can't just give himself away so quickly so he quickly disperse his growing smile.
She must have sensed his excitement.
Yui looked at the book again and put her elbows on her desk as she leaned forward with a concentrated look on her face.
Naruto quickly checked the wall clock to see there was not much time left for her free period to end. He found himself wishing that she could finish it quickly.
Yui flipped through the remaining pages twice as fast. It was easy to tell from her expression that she was on the verge of exploding from concentration.
Now the page he has been restlessly waiting for her to reach finally came into view.
Just as she was about to read it, she stopped and flipped the pages towards previous chapters.
Naruto gave her confused look as to why she isn't continuing with the current chapter which quickly changes into the look of understanding as he saw he close her eyes in concentration.
She checked the previous passages and bookmarks, her posture changed from relaxed to stiff. She was analyzing and solving mysteries on her own before she reached the climax of the story, after going through a series of mind numbing sequences she opened her eyes as if she just solved the mystery before the detective in the book.
She was concluding her own deduction before the climax. And just like detectives in movie she gave a look like she finally connected all the dots revolving a mysterious murder.
Her eyes widened slightly as her eyes gave a flash of enlightenment.
"….I see" she finally made a sound after going through her analysis of mystery.
He could tell she was at the part where readers can comprehend book intent. Yui kept flipping through pages with speed.
She was at the last part of chapter, only a couple of pages were left before she finally reached the apex end of the book.
Now is the time for a big surprise.
"…Huh?...What?…..but t-that's?"
Yui eyes dilated as she looked at books in astonishment. The story's main point was its misdirection with ruthless precision ending.
Her breath hitched for a second.
A serving of rice crackers with mayonnaise -4.5$!
A serving of Strawberry cake -16$!
The look on her face right now -Priceless!
Her conclusion has been thrown to the deepest pit of hell, she stopped to collect her thoughts and go over the plot again, she realized just how reverting and sharp the writing really is.
She looked completely worn out as she finally relaxed her stiff posture and shut the book and looked at the table with the empty look on her eyes.
"…So?" Naruto asked, seeing as she finally finished reading the book.
"…."
She gave him silent treatment as she was still recovering from the shock of the twisted ending.
It was very hard to tell, but she looked like she was pouting
"How would you rate it now?" He couldn't conceal a growing smile on his face.
"…..This is a masterpiece!" She looked like she was still in daze "The mystery, the conspiracy regarding murder, the conclusion at the end and the slow buildup of plot….it…it was so good and breathless, I was gripping my chair so tightly that I think my knuckles went white. How's it even possible that a book like this one is not famous online? There was no recommendation of this anywhere on the internet? Are they crazy or….Ugh..it was really, really frustratingly good, I admit it, you win!" She looked at him with frown as she begrudgingly accepted her defeat.
There has been a silent contest going on between them relating who can give better recommendation and whose recommendation book is better of two.
Naruto was really enjoying the look of pure frustration on her face, it was as if he could see himself in the mirror making that same expression when he just finished reading this book.
This is also one of trail's that everyone from book readers to Otaku and even movie lovers can't control about themselves, the satisfaction it gives them when someone watches the thing recommended by them.
And that satisfaction only increases seeing someone loves the things recommended by you.
One thing Naruto got to know about his friends these past weeks is that it's really rare for her to talk this much, but regarding books like this she doesn't hold back at all or maybe she just can't.
And judging from the look on her face she was completely blown away by the intensity of the book.
She placed her head in table "I was so sure that I almost solved the mystery but that subtle hint at the start of the book mercilessly threw off my deduction to gutter. It was so frustrating yet so satisfying that I…Ugh… how do you even come across a book like this?"
He could feel a sick sense of satisfaction building inside of him.
"My middle school librarian recommended it to me" He replied with a small smile on his face.
"She must have really good taste in books"
"Yeah, she actually read every single book in our middle school library"
After that they immersed themselves in discussing the various things about the books until the school bell rings, signaling the end of their free period.
"Are you planning on becoming the detective type hero or something related to that?" Naruto asked her as he collected his books
He saw her trying to solve the mystery on her own before she reached the climax so he got a little curious seeing her do that.
It's not really strange for heroes to use their hobby in their professional line.
Like Midoriya habit is analyzing new quirk, which will help in future to fight against villains when he becomes a professional hero.
"….Yeah, once I got my hero license and graduated from U.A" She answered with a short reply "Did you guys have your combat training yet?"
"Combat training?" Naruto raised his eyebrows.
These past days they only have basic educational classes and some P.T exercise classes; they haven't done any training classes until now.
"Yeah, yesterday All-might was conducting a combat training exercise for us with our new costumes, it was kind of….fun I guess?" she gave him an odd look as she said that.
"Fun? What do you mean?"
"We got to wear our hero costume and meeting number hero was….eccentric experience"
"Eccentric?"
"Kind of? It was like All-might was in a real hurry or something when he was reviewing us? Or maybe it was just us being excited?"
Naruto absorbed what she was saying.
He still hasn't met the number one hero in real life. So it kind of interests him.
All might, alumni of U.A high and number one hero! The most powerful guy in existence right now.
What kind of person he really is in real life? Can he really teach as good as he fights? Or what's his quirk limit?
That sort of thing was going through his mind as he walked beside Yui.
After walking through the hallway of their class they waved to each other goodbye and went their own separate ways.

"I AM HERE! Coming through the door like a hero!"
Door was slide open as a hulking figure leaned on the door with a loud shout.
He does fit the role of eccentric hero perfectly.
But at this point Naruto got kind of used to this eccentric personality of their teachers, with Present mic loud and overly cheerful, Aizawa-sensei sleepy and bored to midnight seductive and otaku type personality.
So it wasn't that big of a deal for him.
But not for class though as everyone broke into hushed excited whispers even Bakugo looked excited.
"I can't believe he's really All might."
"So he is really going to teach us? Sweet, this year is going to be totally awesome!"
"Is that silver age costume?"
"I think I'm getting Goosebumps!"
"Same dude, I'm having literal chills!"
All might walked to the teacher's desk as he gave them his shining smile and struck out a pose "Welcome to the most interesting class in U.A high, think of it as hero 101, here you will learn basics of being pro hero and what it mean to fight in the name of good, so let's get into it, today's lesson is- COMBAT TRAINING!"
"Oh YEAH! That's what I'm talking about!" Bakugo gave a gleeful grin as he heard those words.
"And Key of being a hero is looking good!" All might dramatically pointed his fingers towards the walls as wall shifted to reveal a bunch of suitcase placed inside the chambers "These suits are designed for you based on your quirk registration form as the request you send in before school started"
Class once again broke into excited whisper, this class by far is proving to be their best class as of yet.
Naruto recalled giving U.A his information regarding his quirks and suits, U.A gave them clothing allowance soon after they got accepted into the school and also gave them choice to design their own suit and any extra apparatus they wanted for themselves.
One thing that should be obvious is that suits design should be adequate and shouldn't interfere with your quirk in any way.
Of course just like everyone he also submitted his hero design.
"Get yourself suited up and meet me at the training ground."
"YES SIR!"

Everyone walked upto the training ground with their hero gear and suits.
Everyone was garbed in the fleshly and stylish costume, compared to them Naruto costume looked rather plain.
He was wearing a half face covering black mask with sleeve shirt, hoodie and black pants with a dark black vest over his chest and belt in his waist which was made using carbon nanotubes making it the perfect camouflage costume.
And for his equipment, he was carrying a thin wire made with special metal alloy, which was folded and placed in his upper pocket of vest along with two small batons to fight in case of close combat.
He has to admit, it feels exciting wearing costumes like heroes.
Naruto glanced towards everyone, each looked to their own costume as well as their friends with excited smiles.
His eyes landed on Midoriya.
He was wearing a green jumpsuit with two large bunny-like ears prodding from his head and mask with wide smiling teeth. He was basically imitating All might in his own way.
But his main concern wasn't that!
While not entirely, but Midoriya has been trying to avoid him and Bakugo since their school started, Naruto followed him on one and two occasions to get to the bottom of how the heck did he get his quirk but it was all for not.
He still has time to unveil the mystery behind Midoriya quirk, and he will!
"Now that you're ready it's time for combat training!"
Everyone lined up facing all might as he addressed them.
"Sir this is the fake city from the practical exam, will we be conducting urban battles again?" The guy in full body suit asked, Naruto recognized his voice as Iida.
At this point he knows the name of every student in class 1 including his and Yui's classmates, he also got to know a little about their quirks from class introduction.
"Not quite! I'm going to have you move two steps ahead, most of the villains fight that you see on the news takes place outside, however statistically speaking, you're likely to run into the most dastardly evildoer indoors. Think about it, backroom deals, home invasions, secret underground lairs, truly intelligent villains stay hidden in the shadows, this training exercise will split into two teams of good guys and bad guys and fight two on two indoors battles"
"Isn't that a little advance?" Spoke Asui Tsui, the girl with the frog quirk.
She can basically do anything to everything that a frog can do.
"The best training is what you get on the battlefield, but remember you can't just punch a robot because this time you're not dealing with actual robots"
"Sir, will you be the one who decided who wins?" spoke Yaoyorozu Momo
"How much do we hurt the other team?" Bakugo gave a glare as he said that
"Do we need to worry about losers getting expelled like earlier?" Ochaco looked worried.
"Will we be splitting up based on chance or skill?" Iida raised his hands in question.
"Isn't my cape so shiny?" Aoyama showed off his shiny cape.
"I wasn't finished talking" All might Look frustrated as he was cut off before he could continue.
He pulled out a script from his pants and proceeded to tell them about training, starting from the villain team hiding a nuclear missile in hideout and the heroes must try to foil their plan by obtaining the nuclear missile or by capturing villains. And Teams will be selected by drawing lots.
Naruto glances towards his classmates, this might be a good experience to build up friendship with his classmates.
He only wishes not to be placed in the same group as Bakugo. Not because he's afraid of him or anything, he just doesn't want Bakugo to pester him, because right now his main ire was directed towards only Midoriya.
And the reason was really obvious to him, unlike his classmates he and Bakugo had known Midoriya as a quirkless student and a quirkless student just doesn't gain a quirk overnight.
One by one each of them came forward to draw a ball from the box, Naruto pulled the ball with 'F' written on it, he glanced towards his classmates to see everyone holding different alphabet order balls, except for one.
"Looks like we will be team, Naruto-kun"
A cheerful feminine voice called him out. It was Toru Hagakure.
Naruto turn towards her and gave a nod of acknowledgement to the invisible girl "Yeah, Nice working with you"
"Let's do our best!" Toru cheerfully encourages him.
He internally sighs to himself.
It was kind of a relief for him to be placed in the same team with a cheerful girl like Toru Hagakure.
There are a lot of reasons for that.
First of all he didn't want to be placed in the same team with someone like Bakugo or Yaoyorozu, both with their own obvious reasons, Bakugo because he is Bakugo and Yaoyorozu, because she is obviously the class crush.
Second he was relieved that it wasn't some lone wolf of the class like himself, because it would be way too awkward to try to make conversations with them only to be brushed aside.
And thus the third and final option he was hoping for, someone who can lead the conversation between them, when he was in middle school he used to rely on Midoriya hero otaku ranting habits to make conversation with him.
Extroverted/cheerful people's lives in their own little world and they don't have any problem in starting conversation with anyone, regardless if they are strangers or someone familiar.
He already has some experience regarding cheerful people so it should be easy for him to work with her.
Soon after teams formed up, the drawing lots for being Villain or hero team was picked up by All might.
One by one each of them were assigned to certain groups.
Naruto and Toru ended up in a villain team, with their opposite being, the hero team consists of Todoroki shoto and Mashirao Ojiro.
He was familiar with both of their quirks, Ojiro quirk is a heteromorphic type quirk, he can use his tail as limbs of his body to fight against someone. And he is also proficient in martial arts.
Todoroki shoto, the recommended student and the son of number two hero, Endeavor. He had seen him using his ice quirk from the left side of his body on the quirk assessment test and he is also rumored to have a fire based quirk just like his father.
In this exercise Villain held advantage over heroes but in this case, the opposite might apply for them, seeing they will place their bomb in one specific area and Todoroki just has to encase it in ice.
He still doesn't know Todoroki's quirk limitations so he might be in the wrong though.
First to fight were Bakugo and the Midoriya team!
He couldn't help but feel this is some sort of fated doom for Midoriya to face the guy who has been out for his blood since their first day at U.A high.
"All right everyone else walked to the monitoring room to watch" All might tell them to walk towards the Monitoring room while both teams prepare themselves for their battle.
"Yes sir!"
After saying that everyone walked out of the area and advanced towards the monitor room.
All might then proceed to give Midoriya team the layout map of the building before they walked out.
Midoriya looked towards Bakugo with a determined gaze when suddenly his vision met with Naruto who mouthed him 'best of luck' before he walked out with everyone else.
Midoriya sends a guilty look his way before shaking his head to clear it, he nods at the little encouragement given by the blonde.
He has become guilty for keeping secret about his new quirk to Naruto and Bakugo. And by keeping his distance from him, that guilt only increased over the week.
That's one of the greatest things about guilt, it eats you up from inside the longer you keep it bottled up.
The longer he held that guilt, the easier it will be for Naruto to know his secret.
It won't do him any good if Midoriya gets suspicious of him, he has been acting around Midoriya as if he actually brought his really bad lie about his dormant quirk bullshit.
He along with everybody walked inside the Monitoring room.

"He almost got the jump on him"
"That sneaky Bakugo, what kind of man pulls crap like that" Kirishima frowned as he stared at the screen.
In front of them a big monitor was placed displaying every move made by both teams.
Midoriya and Uraraka were trying to sneak inside the building before they were rudely interrupted by an explosion boy.
"It's viable strategy, he's playing his part, acting like a true villain" All might commented
"But it didn't work, Midoriya dodged it" Ashido exclaimed in surprise.
Everyone inside the monitoring room watched as Bakugo tried to go after Midoriya and ignored Ochako, while later dodged his attacks in an impressive feat before he grabbed Bakugo outstretched his right hand and judo slammed him into the floor.
Naruto looked at Midoriya in a new light, he has known Midoriya for the last 3 years, so for him to go against his bully and actually slamming him on the floor in an impressive feat of strength surprised Naruto.
And Midoriya isn't using his quirk either, he is relying on pure body muscle and postures to fight against Bakugo's overpower quirk.
He is a smart boy, Midoriya must have analyzed how to fight with Bakugo considering his experience with analyzing hero quirks for so long.
As said before, sometimes heroes use their hobby to fight against villains in their professional line!
And right now Midoriya is using his quirk analysing hobby to full use.
"What was Bakugo saying? Can't tell with just the cameras in fixed position and no sound." Kirishima complained as they weren't able to hear what they were saying.
"He's talking to his partner over the small wireless radio. You can bring them plus the building floor plan, and this capture tape, once you wrap them around your opponent, it shows you have captured them." All might explain to them by showing the capturing tape around his hand.
Capturing your enemy with capturing tape is the easiest way to win the exam.
And it doesn't matter, who uses capture tape, be it villains or heroes.
All you have to do is wrap this tape around your enemy body.
"Time limit is 15 minute and the hero doesn't know where the nuclear weapon is located, right?"
"Yes"
"Heroes are clearly at disadvantage here, aren't they?!" Mina complained about the fact that it wasn't fair for heroes to face such handicaps.
He scanned around the room to see most of them agree with Mina.
All might turn around from screen to address them, with the same grin he always wore on his face "Heroes should be able to turn the tables on whatever predicament they're in. beside didn't Mr. Aizawa tell you, too? You know- here we go-"
"-Plus ultra!" Class chorus at the same, even he joined in as to not get singled out.
"Monsieur, Bakugo is-" Ayoyama pointed towards the monitor, which shows that Midoriya was about to capture Bakugo legs in capturing tape but Bakugo avoided at the last second by blasting his hands towards Midoriya body.
Midoriya barely managed to avoid being hit.
That was a good reflex.
He couldn't help but praise Midoriya for his reaction time, for the sissy guy to go against his bully without using his new quirk, Midoriya is doing really well.
"That guy's amazing!"
"He's not even using his quirk fighting against the guy who finished first in the entrance exam!"
Even his classmates were impressed by the way Midoriya was handling Bakugo without using his quirk.
"I don't understand though. For such an amazing guy why is he always so fiddly around everyone else?" Kaminari looked at the monitor in confusion.
At his question everyone's attention was drawn back towards the screen to see Midoriya hiding from Bakugo as a way to distract him.
They watched the screen in silence.
"Ne Naruto-kun, you are from the same school as Midoriya and Bakugo, right? What was he like back in Middle school?"
Silence was broken by his team partner Toru Hagakure
With the corner of his eyes Naruto turns around to see floating gloves hovering in the air.
She must have gotten curious about Kaminari's question.
It was a well known fact by now that he, Bakugo and Midoriya came from the same school, so it was only logical to ask about someone from the same school.
He could go ahead and tell them that Midoriya was a quirkless student and he used to be bullied by Katsuki and his friends.
But it might create some problem for him later down the road.
Besides in the worst case scenario he might be branded as a liar.
So he opted for the simplest explanation that would avoid the question but at the same time would satisfy their curiosity.
"Midoriya spent years writing notes on heroes' quirk and internalizing them, he is in a sense…a hero Otaku, I guess?"
"He's otaku? That explains it" Mina nodded her head in understanding.
At his answer everyone nodded in understanding.
It was a well known fact that Otaku's are weird bunches, so it isn't out of the equation for them to act in a certain weird way, thus it is easy for them to accept his answer.
Soon after that fight between Midoriya and Bakugo got intense as Bakugo began to freely use his quirk to hurt Midoriya and whatever advantage Midoriya held suddenly vanished as Bakugo began to move expectedly, by blasting air and controlling his movement with his quirk.
Meanwhile when Uraraka was trying to sneak inside the building, she blew up her cover by laughing at whatever Iida said. Which alerts Iida who began to move around the building with a bomb in his hands using his quirk and effectively avoiding Uraraka.
'BOOM'
Their building shook a little as an explosion vibration traveled from Midoriya's building to theirs.
"Sir, you should stop them! That Bakugo's really crazy! He might actually kill him" Kirishima pointed towards a crazed looking bakugo.
Bakugo was using a crazy amount of explosions to blast through everything in his path, that includes Midoriya as well.
"No….Young Bakugo, the next time you use that, I'll stop the fight, and your team will lose" All might address Bakugo over his ear-piece device connected to both team participants To attack on such a large scale inside is inviting the destruction of stronghold you should be protecting. That is a foolish plan for both heroes and villains! You will lose a lots of point for it!"
Just as he said that Bakugo growled towards the camera placed on the building to show his frustration of being told to.
He ran towards Midoriya and in-last second used his blast to turn around in mid-air and blast midoriya back.
He always knew from the start that Bakugo had really good control over his quirk, but the way he was excellently moving around the room using his quirk was a whole new level of control he was showing.
"What was that just now?"
"He doesn't look like the type to think but he is more subtle than I expected" Todoroki spoke, his eyes glued to the screen.
"What do you mean?"
"He changed his course in a blast that doubled as a smoke screen and then did it again immediately." Todoroki explained his theory
While Yaoyorozu further explained it in detail "Getting in a clean hit while fighting against inertia requires fine lateral adjustments to the power of the explosion."
Apparently they didn't get into U.A just for their quirks it seems, both are intelligent students as well.
The way they immediately grasp Bakugo fighting style says a lot about their insight and intellect. And add their quirk in the equation, then they are sure to rise in hero ranking when they graduate from U.A.
"He is too talented….huh?"
Screen shows Bakugo mercilessly began to massacre poor moss head kid, who couldn't do anything as one by one Bakugo hit began to land on his body.
"This is Lynching! He can capture him for this exercise by just wrapping the tape around!"
"Those are not the action of hero"
"I thought Midoriya was pretty amazing, too, but in terms of combat power, Bakugo is definitely a monster of Natural instincts."
One by one everyone began to voice their discomfort seeing the brutal one-sided murder.
Midoriya hurriedly tried to get away from Bakugo when he was finally given a chance to catch his breath.
"That's not something a man should do, but he has no choice, but something is strange…Why won't he use his quirk"
Screen showed Midoriya standing up with his back facing the wall and stared at Bakugo, They both rushed towards each other with fist outstretched and threw the punch.
Boom
A big blast occurred destroying building floor in vertically as whole building was ripped off from the force of Midoriya attack, who instead of using his punch on Bakugo, he made uppercut towards ceiling, resulting in bunch of destroyed building rubbles, to which Uraraka used her quirk on broken pillar and used it as a bat to hurl the rubbles towards Iida, and thus commendably won the match by capturing the bomb when Iida was distracted by rubbles.
Midoriya collapsed on the floor with one damaged right arm and one scorched left arm.
That was very idiotic thing to do!
Going this far just for the sake of combat training.
Or
Maybe it was Midoriya's way of saying that he won't be under Bakugo from now on.
Whatever it was Naruto couldn't help but shake his head at the un-necessity of destroying his body.
"Wow! that was one heck of a fight!"
"I can't believe they actually won"
"What the heck! Loser team is completely fine while winner team are on the ground"
"They lost the battle, but won the war, huh?"
Half of his class began to praise Midoriya team while some looked unimpressed and somewhat shocked with the result.
It was to be expected, the Midoriya team could have handled it much better but they made one mistake after another.
"Naruto-kun it looks like everyone from your middle school is a power house, I'm counting on you" Toru playfully smacked his shoulder.
He turn his head to address her "I will try my best, but I'm not as good or fleshly as them though"
"Don't worry, you will be fine I'm sure!" Toru again slapped his back.
Their opponents are one of the recommended students with really powerful quirks and a martial artist student who has a really strong tail which can be used as arm and legs.
Naruto and Toru only advantage here is their stealth ability.
Soon medical staff with stretchers came and took Midoriya to infirmary for treatment.

"Well if I have to say, the MVP for this battle was Young Iida!" All might gather them up to review the fight.
"It's not either of the winners, Ochako or Midoriya?" Asui asked in confusion.
Lots of people had the same thought running through their head.
"Hmm, well….why is that? Does anyone know?" All might ask them.
"Yes, All might-sensei" A single hand raised at his question and just as he expected, it was Yaoyoruzu.
"That is because Iida-san adapted most to the context of the training. From watching the match, it appears Bakugo-san acted on his own because of an obviously personal grudge. And as All might-sensei said earlier, it is foolish to launch a large scale attack indoors. In the same way, taking into consideration the damage Midoriya-san received, Midoriya-san's plan was also rash. As for Uraraka-san…she let her guard down mid-battle and her final attack was too reckless. If she treated papier-mâché as a real weapon, she would not have been able to do something so dangerous. Iida-san has been prepared for his opponent's arrival and assumed it would be a fight over the weapon, which made him late in responding to the final attack. Hero team only won because they took advantage of the fact that this was training. They were practically breaking the rules' ' Yaoyorozu finished her long expression with a closed eye.
Naruto was sure he could count Yaoyourozu as one of the brightest mind he had ever seen,
She beautifully finds the fault in each phase of the exam and both team planning.
But…
That was way too long of explanation.
She looks like a perfect example of textbook knowledge, but how far will it take her though…?

Everyone began to relax while both teams walked towards the training ground.

"Huh?"
"I'm going to get serious! I will take off my gloves and boots, too!" Invisible girl then began to take off her gloves and boots.
Naruto just stares at the invisible space with his same ever-present apathetic face.
Toru Hagakure has one interesting quirk, she was born as an invisible girl.
Even though it might help in her stealth mission, it must be really uncomfortable for her moved around naked,
And considering their opponent with ice making quirk, she would be naked in freezing temperatures.
"You can't look, okay?"
"I won't" he replied coolly, not at all bothered by standing next to naked girl.
BUZZ
The buzzer for the exam started.
Soon after buzzer went off Naruto noticed temperature suddenly dropped, as ice raced towards them to envelop them, he saw in slow motion as ice came towards his feet as he tried his best to not let his body instinct work and got encased in ice that froze his feet to the floor.
Everyone is watching him right now, he didn't want them to think he is anyone special, so he let himself got encased in ice.
"Ouch my feet, It's giving me freezer burn" Toru beside him complained as her feet were struck to the floor.
She must have been hurting from freezing, her naked body was exposed to very low temperature ice.
Naruto looked towards the floor, the whole building was covered in ice. Todoroki's quirk limit is greater than he previously thought.
But…
Is he underestimating them?
Only their legs were encased in ice while their whole body was practically free.
Or maybe not?
Because he was sure if they forced their feet to move they would tear the skin off of their legs.
Naruto and Toru looked towards the door as Todoroki calmly walked up to them with an uninterested look on his face.
Toru took a defensive stance but flattered as her naked feet in ice gave her a bad freeze burn.
"You can move if you want, but the skin of your feet will come off, so you won't be able to fight to your best" Saying that he calmly began to move towards them without care in the world.
Wow!
He really is underestimating them!
Coming here all alone without his teammate, walking carelessly as if he will be fine from his enemies.
…Oh Well
This excuse might just work perfectly for him!
Just as Todoroki was about to touch the bomb
.
"Young Todoroki has been captured, he is retired from the test!"
All might voice rang in their earpiece.
"What?"
Todoroki's apathetic face was broken into shocked expression for a second, with his outstretched hand freezing in the direction of the bomb.
He looked confused.
"What do you mean I'm captured?" He asked All might through his ear piece.
"Looked down on your left hand, young Naruto tied capture tape around your left hand when you were unaware"
He looked down to see capturing tape was tied around his left arm.
"….When did he-?"
He looked to see Naruto was free as he simply walked towards Toru, who was still freezed in her place.
"Todoroki can you melt the ice around her feet?" Naruto turns around to address the shocked looking Todoroki.
"Unfortunately Young Naruto, he cannot do that until exams are over" Again the voice of All-might rang in their ear-piece.
Naruto looked towards the footprint where Toru stood, it would be a hassle if he forcefully pulled her from place, she might injure her feet, but if he used his quirk here, he might show his real ability to everyone.
"…How did you break-free of my ice?" Todoroki looked confused to see him walk free.
Naruto doesn't really blame him for his confusion, as far everyone is concerned, his quirk is glitch, he can move invisibly by leaving behind his projection.
Almost everyone assumes that if they hit him or capture him before using his quirk they can actually get him.
….But his quirk is a lot more complicated than everyone thinks of it to be.
He realized that Todoroki was still waiting for his answer.
So he gave his answer!
"I'm not telling you!"
"…Why?"
Did he really expect him to tell him about his quirk while they are in the middle of the test?
"What do you mean by why? I'm the villain here and I won't waste my time monologuing a hero about my quirk!" Naruto helplessly shrugged his shoulder.
He used malfunction glitch on his body to create a short projection and move like an invisible person and by doing so he also made himself able to use intangibility on his own body to change his physiological features.
That fact that he was encased in an ice block wouldn't really matter to him, as long as he can use Malfunction on his body to create glitch and with short term intangibility it becomes a piece of cake for him to free himself of ice.
Meaning with his malfunction glitch he can temporary setback his body to its natural state.
His quirk limit might seem simple at first glance but its limitations are very vast from what he has just shown right now.
He wanted to avoid situations like this, but there was no other choice.
He had to do this, because in future if a situation ever arises and it will arise, where he has to use his quirk in front of someone from his class, then fingers will be start pointed towards him, some might even go as far as to bring this exam as an example. Even if chances of that happening might be low, he don't want to take any risks.
He didn't want them to think he was deliberately hiding his real powers.
And there's no point in hiding this ability. In his one week of U.A, he has heard about an upperclassman who also uses a quirk like him, which helps him slip through any solid objects, so it wouldn't be strange if someone else can also use that kind of ability.
Beside he managed to capture Todoroki so easily because he was greatly underestimating him and assuming their quirk from the outline of what he knows from class introduction.
He bends towards Toru's feet and places his hands on her foot.
"N-Naruto-kun? W-What are you doing?" Toru exclaimed in embarrassment but her embarrassment subdued when she found that the invisible space around her legs fizzled and she was free from ice.
His power isn't limited to his own body!
"Wow, I'm free! I knew I could count on you!" Toru gave him thumbs up but Naruto couldn't see it, her being an Invisible girl and all.
Her reaction changed in 5 seconds from embarrassment to joy.
Is she always high on sugar like this? Or maybe that's just how she was from birth?
Before they could chat anymore they heard the sound of steps coming towards them.
Gate was slightly parted and in front of them stood Ojiro.
He must have heard about the Todoroki retirement from the exam.
So he is planning on attacking them straight on!
If so, then that would be a very foolish thing to do.
Because he might think he can take him out but he can't do anything about Toru invisibility even with his martial arts training.
This was the reason he freed his teammate, so he can avoid direct confrontation with Ojiro while she captures him using her invisible body.
Without saying a word, he run towards them to attack them, but it was fake move, as just as he came near them he jumped towards Bomb with help of his tail
That way he can avoid fighting them and at the same time win the test.
" Ojiro-kun is going towards the bomb!"
He must have panicked hearing his Overpowered team teammate retirement, that would explain his direct approach like this.
But before he could continue further thin wires wrapped around his body as he was pulled down on the floor by Naruto, as he was slammed on the ground Toru ran and captured him using capturing tape.
Thus concluded a really simple match compared to Midoriya and Bakugo intense war.
Buzz
A Loud buzz went off signaling the end of their exam.
"Wonderful! Young Toru and Naruto won the test! Everyone please come to the Monitor room, so we can review the test!"
A loud voice rang in their earpiece.
"Yay! We won!"
Toru came and slapped him in the back playful.
"Sneeze"
Toru loudly sneezed as she realized that she was in room full of ice, while naked
"Eep! Forget about that" she sheepishly laughed.
He could hear her teeth clattering from the cold!

Before he could continue his thought process, all the ice in the room suddenly began to melt, as Todoroki used his heat to melt the ice.
"Ouch! Ouch! N-now suddenly it's hot!"
Toru complained again.
Well that takes care of cold temperatures!

"Wow, you won against the recommended student!" Just as he walked to the monitoring room he was ganged up by his classmates.
"You actually got the guy with monster quirk"
"And no dramatic shit like Bakugo too!"
"You guys were awesome!" Kaminari came and pats his back.

Naruto leaned back a little as Kaminari practically shoved himself to his face.
Naruto looked at them, it seems they were way more impressed with him beating Todoroki than with his quirk.
It was a good thing in a sense!
He cast a small glance around the room when his eyes landed at Bakugo way, who was glaring at him and Todoroki and his body was…..shaking (almost non-visibly) in fear?
His quirk wasn't that impressive compared to Todoroki and everyone knew that he won only because Todoroki was underestimating him.
Meaning Bakugo is probably afraid he won't be able to win against someone like Todoroki, after seeing Todoroki's very impressive quirk. Bakugo must have realized he is but just a small frog. Todoroki is the giant shark of the ocean.
Plus the shock of losing from Midoriya and seeing the scale of his power must have been messing with his brains.
Bakugo is an emblem of pride and Arrogance, and there's nothing more brittle than that pride when it loses its reason to be so prideful.
As a saying goes 'Bigger the pride, harder the fall!'
For someone like Bakugo, who is used to being number one throughout his whole life, it must have come as a really big shock that he wasn't at the top of the food chain anymore.
He was basically thinking of getting his ticket to the top hero position in a silver platter.
"Ahem! That was a very impressive match young Todoroki and Young Ojiro, even though you lost but you mustn't feel down" All-might place his hands on Shoto and Ojiro shoulders.
"Now can anyone tell me what mistakes Young Todoroki and Ojiro team made during the test?"
Again like previously Momo raised her hand. "Yes All-might-sensei"
"Todoroki-san become over-confident after he thought he had captured both Naruto-san and Hagakure-san in his ice, thus he decided to confront them alone leaving his teammate behind. Todoroki-san didn't wait to consider Naruto-san quirk and jumped in without proper knowledge or support of his partner, had he done that and encased Naruto-san whole body inside ice or if he had Ojiro-san accompany him then he wouldn't have lost. Todoroki-san becomes careless and overconfident of his quirk, while Ojiro-san should have assisted Todoroki-san despite being told not to. And in last second Ojiro-san panicked when Todoroki-san captured and carelessly try to attack them one on two without any strategy!"
Momo then turns towards Toru and Naruto.
"As for Toru-san team, Naruto-san hide his quirk ability and pretend to be helpless in front of Todoroki-san and used his quirk to set-free when hero guard was down and captured him at last moment after giving Todoroki-san a false sense of victory that he won the test. Naruto-san acted like a true villain by hiding and attacking from behind and thus he thwarted Todoroki-san's plan. While she panicked at first, Toru-san was quick to realize Naruto-san action and proceed to capture Ojiro-san when he was down"
She really over explains these kinds of things.
But she is exceptionally smart for a kid her age.
A perfect example of 'don't be a try hard', but not like it will affect her class standing in any case.
A beautiful girl who came from a very rich family and got into U.A through recommendation.
She is also the smartest kid in the class with a model student personality, plus she is great with socializing with others unlike himself.

"First I must congratulate Young Toru and Young Naruto for winning their match, and as Young Yoayorozu said. This match result could have been much different, the important thing here is to take experience from this test and grow as a better person. Especially you Young Todoroki, you need to learn to relay on your partner and not to underestimate anyone and Young Ojiro you just need experience so you won't panic like this again in future."
"And this should also set an example for one of my favorite saying 'When enemy become certain of their victory, that will be your chance to strike' you should all take this to heart and never underestimate your enemies"
"Yes sir!"
Saying that All-might gave them his toothy smile.
"All right proceeding with this order, the next team takes your position according to your team status."
All might call out the villain team consisting of Kirishima and sero and the hero team made of Tokoyami and Tsuyu.

Naruto was standing far away from Bakugo, who had a big scowl on his face. He is still pissed. At whom though? He doesn't know.
It might be Midoriya? Todoroki? Naruto himself? Or maybe at everyone?!
He is Bakugo, that's his thing after all!

Naruto looked towards the monitor where the last exam was taking place between Aoyama and Mina team vs Sato and shoji team.
Mina barely managed to slip between Sato and capture Bomb at last second and won the match.
"So are you planning on telling me how did you break-free of my ice?"
Naruto's attention was drawn towards his side where Todoroki was staring at him unnervingly.
He has been doing that since their exam ended.
Was he really waiting all this for this whole test to end just to ask him that?
Is this his first time that someone managed to break free of his ice? But no matter how he looked at it he just can't imagine that scenario.
Todoroki was raised by the number two hero. Surely he must be used to fighting and losing, so Todoroki probably asked him that for future reference so he won't make the same mistake next time they fought like this.
"I use Glitch on my body to make it suitable to phrase through small things"
"I thought you use your glitch to create projection and move like an invisible person"
"You're not wrong, it's just I can also modify my body by glitch to phrase through small things as well"
He gave him the simplest explanation that should content him. No need to rant about his other abilities related to his quirk.
"That'd explain it" Todoroki nodded in understanding, he asked again "But is that all you can do?"

"At first thought your quirk looks simple, but when I think about it your quirk sounds more complicated than what you just told me"
Naruto raised his eyebrow in confusion "I learn how to properly control my quirk just a year ago, so it's all kind of new to me"
Well he was kind of expecting that question when he revealed this ability of his quirk, but for him to see underneath the meaning of his words.
It confirms that Todoroki shoto has good insight.
But still, he was also expecting that!
For the past few weeks he has been silently inspecting everyone from his class, from class pervert Minoru Mineta to class prince charming Todoroki Shoto.
What's their limits? What is their hobby? if he can become friends with them?
To see if they will be useful for him in future?

Aizawa class is one of the most boring and scariest classes for his classmates. He has this aura about him, when he teaches you, no matter how boring the subject may be, you can't help but pay attention to it, some do in fear, while others do because of his charisma.
Not charisma like All-might has about himself, but different type of charisma, he has one-small-gesture-is-enough to-get-attention kind of charisma and in s scary kind of way.
Even Naruto had to admit that no matter how much Aizawa-sensei looks like a homeless bump, he is kind of a cool teacher.
While he would rate All-might the same as Kodai.

It hasn't been one day since he met All-might and he's already assuming him to be suspicious.
Seriously, what is he doing?

Rest of classes went on without any hitch!
He saw everyone was chatting with each other, and the hot topic was Midoriya and Bakugo match. Because it was the flashiest match of the day and people just love flashy things.
While his match could also be called flashy, it was a totally one sided flashy match with Todoroki in the center of attention.
"Aw we totally lost though!"
"Yeah, but you have admit he is really powerful"
"Recommended students are really scary"
"Even more than Bakugo?"
"Nah! He takes the cake!"
"Even though they lost, who do you think would win if we seriously compete against each other? Todoroki or Bakugo or someone else from class? "
"I don't know? They both are really powerful, unfortunately my quirk is at disadvantage with both of them, they both has fire based quirk, my dark shadow won't be able to handle them"
Naruto saw that in his front bench Toru, Ojiro, Kyoka and Tokoyami were discussing everyone's quirks and exams.
"But it's kind of weird, even though both of them might be the strongest in our class, they both lost" Kyoka was amazed seeing both of their power levels.
"It is not that weird, one was acting on his personal grudge while the other was obviously underestimating his enemies, it was inevitable that they would lose." Tokoyami gave his own review about two strongest students in their class.
"When you say it like that I feel like I really should have accompany Todoroki that way I could have prevent Todoroki from retiring and wouldn't have rush to you and Naruto in panic, in a way I think it was my fault that we lost today" Ojiroc weakly chuckles as recalled his team easy defeat at the hands of Toru and Naruto.
"Well can't really blame you Ojiro-kun for underestimating us, I mean Todoroki-kun is so strong he froze us in seconds. I didn't even have the time to blink before I was encased in ice…Agh! Thinking about it makes me relive that freezing experience! Freezing naked in ice sucks! I don't think I can eat ice cream without imagining myself as Popsicle anymore, he totally ruined my love for ice cream" Toru loudly exclaimed with shudder.
She is obviously over-exaggerating! Only her foot was encased in ice, not her body!
"Yeah same, I prefer ice on ice-cream, not on my body" Kyoka chuckled when Toru complained about ice-cream.
"Well let's not forget about Midoriya quirk, it's really weird though….his quirk is so powerful yet he can't really use it because it destroys his own body."
"But-"Naruto saw Tokoyami turn his head towards his direction "I think Naruto's quirk is also an interesting one though."
Just as he said that, all of them turn their heads towards him.
It looks like he is their next topic to discuss.
"I was really surprised when I saw you phasing your legs through ice and sneakily capturing Todoroki, his face was totally priceless when All-might announced he was captured, bet he wasn't expecting that" Kyoka grinned towards him.
"Yeah Naruto-kun was amazing in the test, I thought we were done for when both of us were captured in Todoroki-kun ice, but you're a sly dog aren't you Naruto-kun? Tricking Todoroki-kun into thinking he actually got you, that was a good one! That was a very villainous trick!" Toru came towards his seat and slapped his back with some force.
Naruto blinked in surprise, not sure how he should answer that dig "I-I guess" he replied uneasily.
Why does she keep slapping his back so forcefully?
"You're also one to watch out for! I will keep a close eye on you!" Toru exclaimed in her high-on-sugar voice.

"Okay" He gave a simple nod.

The door slides open to reveal bandaged Midoriya.
As soon as Kirishima shouted his name, students near him band up on Midoriya in enthusiasm.
"Oh! I can't believe you fought with Bakugo who was first in the entrance exam!" Sero exclaimed with grin
"You did a good job dodging!" Mina was practically jumping in joy.
"You guys did that in the first match, so the rest of us had to give it our all, too!" Sato gave him a big grin
They began to praise him and began to introduce themselves to him.
So loud!
They were making ruckus in the class!
"You're too loud." Tokoyami completed his thought in words.
"Tokoyami-kun! That desk is not a chair. Get off immediately." Another loud voice cut though, Iida came marching towards them with his robot like hands in full display.
He had noticed, Iida has a really weird habit of moving his hands awkwardly while talking to someone.
"C'mon It's not that big of a deal." Kyoka nonchalantly defended Tokoyami sitting at his desk.
"W-Wh?"
"What's with those hands, anyway?" Ojiro amusingly pointed towards Iida's weird hand motion.
Iida deflected at the casual way they brushed him aside, he heavily frowned at them "You people….I cannot condone actions that disrespect the desk of the great men and women who are our upperclassmen once used!" He lectured them with the same weird hand motions.
Iida really is a perfect example of Don't-be-a-try-hard.
He was sure if he were in his middle school, Iida would become an outcast of class on day one.
But compared to his middle school, his new classmates in U.A are way better. So the chances of him becoming outcast of class is comparatively low.
"You're too loud." Tokoyami complained as Iida was being too noisy.

Back door to the classroom opened up to reveal Uraraka along with Kaminari, both carrying textbooks of everyone.
Kaminari was asking Uraraka out for lunch but she got distracted when she saw Midoriya standing in front of the gate.
"Wait, Deku-kun, didn't the recovery girl heal your injuries?" Uraraka came running towards him with a worried look on her face.
Midoriya for most part was healed, but bruises from his fight with Bakugo were still left on his body.
"Oh, uh, it's because of how much stamina I have, and…."Midoriya trailed off when he saw the empty seat of Bakugo "….Um Uraraka-san where is Kacchan?"
Midoriya's face was tense when he asked about Bakugo!
Did something happen between those two during the test?
This is their free period and also the last period of the day, after this school will end for today.
Seeing as it was their free period Bakugo left the class with his usual big scowl on his face.
"He left just a while ago"
Without saying a word, Midoriya ran after Bakugo to catch up with him.
Grabbing his book, Naruto stood up and left the class, making excuses to Toru and everyone for returning the book to the library.
Naruto saw from the glass panel of the building, Midoriya called out to Bakugo who was going home.
It is a really weird sight!
Usually Midoriya would avoid Bakugo as much as possible, so why is he calling him out?
Naruto's body suddenly disappears as the area around the blonde shifted and he found himself standing behind the pillar, right beside where Midoriya and Bakugo were standing so he could hear them better.
"-there's one thing I feel like I have to tell you."
Looks like he came right on time!
"My quirk is something I received from someone else."
Bingo!
He was expecting this answer but still it kinda surprised him that Midoriya actually told someone.
Something must have happened between their tests!
Something strong enough to make Midoriya so guilty that he told Bakugo his secret.
Guilt is a very simple emotion, once you understand how it works. It's child's play to manipulate simple minded people like Midoriya.
He has been trying to make Midoriya feel guilty for this week.
Why?
Because once people become guilty, they subconsciously tend to channel that guilt somewhere else, most people use guilt to lash out in anger, some become depressed with guilt, some become paranoid. Some distance themselves from their source of guilt.
And people like Midoriya feed up with guilt, spill the beans!
But it seems Bakugo managed to do what he was trying to do for a week, in one day.
Midoriya and Bakugo despite having a strange relationship of bully and bully's victim, they were childhood friends first.
Bakugo must have been feeling like a fool all this time, because of Midoriya's new quirk.
He probably thought he was being fooled by Midoriya, his childhood friends, since they were kids, and that feeling must have resonated with Midoriya's own feeling.
This is one thing, he can't do anything about! Strongly showing your emotions to move someone's heart in an instant, that's why he was taking his time manipulating Midoriya.
…..But it seems it all for naught!
"Huh?" Bakugo looked at Midoriya in confusion.
"I can't say who I got it from, though! I won't say! But it's like a story straight out of comic books, except it's true. On the top of that I can't control it properly. It's just a burrowed power that I haven't made my own yet…that's why….I tried to beat you without using it. But in the end, I couldn't win and had to rely on it. I still got a long way to go….that's why….one day I will make this quirk my own and beat you with my own power!" Midoriya finished with an unwavering look on his face.
Nauto blinked in surprise.
Did he….really just say that to his biggest bully?
Apparently it seems like Midoriya really is maturing.
He would've never imagined old cry-baby Midoriya saying something so outrageous to Bakugo on his face.
Or maybe his new powerful quirk is giving him this confidence to say these kinds of things to Bakugo.
Power has this strange way of manipulating people, even a weak person can become the cruelest being on the planet, once he is given absolute power.
Power messes with your head! It makes you think you are the center of the universe!
And Bakugo is the prime example of power.
He once heard it from Midoriya that Bakugo used to be a good kid, until he got his powerful quirk, after that Bakugo began to change.
He was always good at everything, he was blessed with a cool and strong quirk, he was good at every sport he ever tried, even in terms of study, he had a really sharp mind.
Thus his ego began to swell, Bakugo began to think himself as the protagonist of this world!
But today, he came face to face with reality.
Hopefully Midoriya won't go crazy with his new found power.

"What the hell is that? Borrowed power? You're talking nonsense. What are you trying to do, make me out to be more of a fucking idiot than you already have?" Bakugo's face was shadowed by his hair. His voice was breaking.
"What are you trying to say? Today, I lost to you….that's all it was…that's all….yet as I watched the ice bastard, I thought I can't beat him! But that fucking Loner loser ended up winning against him…Damn it! I ended up agreeing with what that ponytail girl said!" tears were leaking from Bakugo's eyes, he glared at Midoriya.
Naruto would have never believed it if someone told him that Katsuki Bakugo can cry, had he not seen Bakugo crying in front of him.
He couldn't help but curved his lips in amusement.
So a simple loss against someone beneath him is enough to make a strong bully like him cry?
His pride has taken a very large blow today.
….But the question remains. What will he do now that he knows that he is not the king he believed himself to be? There are other candidates with better potential than him!
Will he fall in self-pity? Or will he take this as a challenge and rise himself to be the ki ng he believed himself to be.
But Bakugo despite being a jerk, is a really talented boy, he won't take this loss laying down.
"Ice bastard….Loner bastard and even you Deku! I'm just getting started! Hear me? I will beat each and everyone of you and will become number one hero! You won't beat me again you bastard!" Bakugo wiped the tear off his face with his sleeves and walked away.
So he is going to take it as a challenge! Looks like Bakugo got over his self-pity pretty quickly!
Nothing surprising, considering his ego.
Naruto's body flickers as he disappears from his place at the school building when he sees All Might coming towards Bakugo to encourage him.
As he climbed back the stairs to his classroom Naruto couldn't help but groan in annoyance when he recalled Bakugo's words.
So…..Bakugo is seeing him as his possible competition?
What a pain!
Well not like he will get any competition from him, considering he has no intention of playing a hero!

Google docs are really good for grammar checking, I was using Microsoft office for spelling checks but I think I will switch to Google docs, thanks for the tip Viewing civilians!
and now I'm also using grammarly for audiobook checking as suggested by the Asterisk
And I think I need to clear up a few things here. Some People might get confused later in the chapter, Naruto powers are glitch which is mixed with teleportation. Meaning it's one quirk. It's just that teleportation is one of glitch abilities!
And glitch has several abilities! You will get to see it in later chapters!
By the way, Naruto replaced koji koda in class 1 A.
I realized I couldn't find anything to write on him. So I cut him off from the story!
