Summary:

Maximum Summon is a brainchild so enlightening, Saionji Neiru briefly experiences other worlds.

Standing on his own feet in Haven waiting for Sebastian to usher in the Top of Hexagon, Neiru pulled a book off his bookshelf. While he was always comfortable behind screens and behind the scenes, he made a point of exercising his brain via preoccupations apart from code.

This volume focused on Norse cosmology. More specifically, the author's research gnawed at the roots of Yggdrasil, the tree said to join the Nine Worlds.

Kaizo's original data provided Neiru with a gate. A backdoor into Ohdo Yuga's program he would gradually crack, revealing the import of Yuga's Road.

Reading poetic epics gave Neiru further inspiration.

His mind had fallen through a hole in the solar system. A trap laid by an intelligent universe to teach him ultimate resolve. Distortions in space, drawn (and drawn and drawn) to tease him about the existence of other realms around them.

Miðgarðr, home of the humans. From the before-time flowed Creation.

Vanaheimr, home of the Vanir. Those who war on Earth, they summon Duel Monsters.

Svartálfaheimr, home of the Dökkálfar. The Dark Elves raise a prince who could acquire the Dark and save the next generation.

Niðavellir, home of the Dwarves. Builders and engineers trying to outrace Despair. Marked for the task.

Múspellsheimr, home of the Fire Giants. Crucible of change through Demise. Astral steam or chaotic flames.

Jötunheimr, home of the Jötunn. Ymir dismembered in fracturing arcs across the tall, deep void. Awakened incarnations.

Álfheimr, home of the Ljósálfar. Familiar structures, played among by obsessive-compulsive gamers. The Light Elves guided by untroubled Light.

Niflheimr, home of mist and miserable Fate for the ignoble damned. A reverberation in V6 area's 66th. A reverberation from the Cyberse.

And his home: Ásgarðr, seat of the Æsir.

The mode of Neiru's thoughts was not unlike the Goha satellites he crashed as an even younger child.

Femto, atto, zepto, yocto.

He careened towards the beginning. Since Otes forewarned him something was coming, he'd been hammering the keys to uphold (and later re-establish) control.

Serpentine lightning wraps its spines around Egypt, where odd-eyed orbs rumble aloft leafy, cyber-ended wings.

Yggdrago, born in the Garden. The Heavenly Emperor. The Thundering Keizer.

Be Thor and Jörmungandr and Níðhöggr combined.

The Top of Hexagon were the alpha test.

Onto the beta test.

Tail loosed the huge monster's iron fangs, Ragnarök quakes their souls.

The air smells like ozone. Ash from the ash tree.

It is the Twilight of the Gods.

He'll let Yuga taste the burning, icy poison of the dragon's Tri-Burst Streak.

A Level 4 in his left. A Level 3 in his right.

The DIVINE Level center Field.

Beyond Goha's fetishization of the number 6.

Beyond Yuga's Sevens Road Magician.

To that which lies beyond providence.

MAXIMUM. The God Link.

"This is all because of providence as well."
