Last Time on Back For You:

Kane left his mother in the medical bay in search of Cyborg, per his mother's orders. While searching blindly through the halls, Kane could have sworn that he saw Nightwing moving about in the dark. He shrugged it off and continued on his journey.

Kane became conscious of the fact that he was walking the same halls that his mother did in her childhood. He allowed himself to stop, take a breath, and tried to imagine what it might have been like to be a part of those moments. In his mind, he could almost hear his mother's voice. He could hear all the stories that she told before bed every night. A relaxed smile appeared on his face, and he allowed himself to continue walking. Since his attention was purely on the joy he felt, Kane did not notice when he bumped straight into someone. The two of them fell to the ground with a thud.

Kane shook of the slight pain while turning to Starfire, who had been wanting to go see her old friend and talk to her privately. It seemed that she too had been inside her head. Kane stood up and offered his hand. Starfire took his hand without a second of hesitation, still mostly occupied in her head.

It was Kane's voice that snapped her out of her state, "Are you okay?"

'How odd…' Starfire thought; it seemed that whoever this boy was, his voice very much reminded her of her longtime friend, Changeling.

"I am quite fine, thank you," Starfire responded after a moment, "I was not watching where I was going." The two took a moment to take each other in. The alien looked at the young man who had been with Raven, and the young man looked at the alien who he only knew about from his mother's stories. To him, it was like meeting a character from a fairytale that he grew up with.

Kane cleared his throat at the silence that only seemed to grow in proportion, "Do you know where I can find Cyborg? I was told to go get him."

Starfire thought for a moment, "I suppose he is probably in the garage. He usually is around this time of day." Kane nodded in acknowledgement and a small smile. The famous garage, where his mother helped build one of Cyborg's cars. He had heard much about that car, as it was one of his mother's fondest memories of the resident cyborg. Apparently, it had been his mother's first time doing anything remotely mechanical, and Cyborg was incredibly patient with her, even though he could have finished it much faster without Raven's assistance.

It was then that he realized that he had no idea where the garage was, and so he asked. And after he was given the directions, he set off to his destination alone. He should have asked for an escort, but he did not want to keep the alien from her very obvious destination. By the time Kane made it to the garage, he had been contemplating just turning around.

Music filled his ears as the door opened, and he was met with the view of the garage. His first impression was met with the gas-filled air. Every inch of the place seemed to ooze inspiration for infinite possibilities of mechanical masterpieces. His joy was interrupted by a loud bang and several curses that would make a sailor blush. He looked to the left, where the sound seemed to be coming from the owner of a pair of feet hung underneath a car in the corner.

Kane was about to ask if this person knew where Cyborg was when a voice alerted him of a person behind him, "Who are you?" Kane turned around around to find a girl around his age with short red hair and green eyes looking at him suspiciously.

She didn't give him a chance to respond when she continued questioning, "Where do you come from? How did you get here?" Kane laughed, he didn't know he was going to be put in the hot seat so quickly.
He looked at the girl in front of him and smiled, "My name is Kane," he ignored the second question and went on to the third, "I got here through the door." The girl frowned, analyzing his every movement and reaction.

She seemed to be revving up for another set of questions when a rolling sound was heard and another voice called out, "And why are you here, Kane?" Kane turned around again to find the most beautiful brown eyes staring back at him. He could spend eternity just staring into those eyes. The eyes belonged to a face, obviously. A girl's face. A pretty girl's face. A pretty girl with dreadlocks and beautiful dark skin and car grease spotted randomly across her face. Apparently Kane zoned out because the next time she spoke, she was directly in front of him and the red-haired girl was standing a bit ways back.

She snapped, literally and vocally, and then proceeded to wave her hand in front of his face, "Earth to intruder, I asked you a question." Kane grabbed her wrist and stopped the waving hand. He looked down at the much-shorter girl and smiled. She tensed, and pulled her wrist out of his grasp.

"I'm looking for Cyborg. Starfire said I may be able to find him here," he finally replied, looking back and forth between the two girls.

"What business do you have with my father?" The greased-faced girl asked him, still unsure of this "Kane" person. She took a step back and lined herself up with the red-haired girl.

"What is this 20 questions?" Kane grumbled, and then finished with a clear voice, "My m-friend Raven asked me to bring him to her." Kane tripped over his thoughts, trying not to panic as he almost revealed his true identity without his mother's consent. Cyborg's apparent daughter's eyes sparked with recognition.

"I'll take you to him," she started, motioning him to follow her. They headed toward another door across the garage, the other girl following closely behind them.

As they walked, Kane tried to learn more about the girl who had caught his attention, "I didn't know Cyborg had a daughter." The girl only hummed in response.

To keep up the conversation, Kane continued, and jokingly went on, "Well, can I at least have the name of my captors?"

"If we had captured you, you would have a gag so you couldn't ask annoying questions," the red haired girl replied without a beat. Kane's smile slowly dropped as he realized he wouldn't get any warmth from these girls. They walked in silence for the rest of the walk, which led the group to the Tower's commons.

Kane prepared himself as Cyborg, Changeling, and Nightwing came into his sight.
