The Little Girl and the Ottomans

Chapter 18

They were still stuck in the barracks. Owen, Jay, and Gem were asleep, for it was night and they needed rest. Val, however, could not. She paced around the room, being as quiet as possible. Her mind was racing. And, of course, the "person" she was worried about was Jenny.

She felt a huge burst of energy far from here. It felt familiar. She attributed it to Jenny because of this, but she had no idea how the robot could produce energy that strong. Jenny is a powerful one, yes, but what's happening couldn't be her alone. Something must be happening to her, and she wants to find out. But she couldn't go find her, for Trousk told her to stay put and Owen and Jay wouldn't let her go anywhere because of what happened the last time she visited this island.

"I have to go find her...so Jay can save her, or something!" she said in her mind. She finally came up with a mission of her own. Go to where the energy was, but don't fight. Hide and take note of where Jenny is so she can tell Trousk or Owen later.

She mentally prepared herself as she silently walked out of the room, managing to alert nobody. Dragon markings appear on her body as she focuses on the wall. A portal soon opens, and she steps inside.

The cold air slapped her hard as her feet rested against the rock of a mountain. She was surprised that Jenny would be here of all places. But, she did not complain. She had to find her and get back before anybody notices she's gone. She calmed and went into a trance, using her fine-tuned ears to pick up any noises.

She yelped as soon as she heard the agonizing screams of Jenny. Fearing for the robot's life, she scrambled over to the direction where she heard them. Peering down an overhang, Val put a hand to her mouth, keeping herself from not letting out any scared noises. Jenny was convulsing as her antennae and the back of her head were all twisted, forming a huge ring that had a swirling vortex in the middle.

In front of Jenny was a soul she never thought she'd see again.

"He's alive! I...I need to talk to him!" Val said to herself, being quiet so he would not hear. Turning herself into a hummingbird, she flew down and landed. The world then went into a black void as Val turned back to normal and activated her Aura Bonding.

"Oh?"

"Sargon! What are you doing!?" she questioned, though it was sort of obvious what. He turns to her, a menacing grin on his face.

"The little witch girl has returned! How has your miserable life been without me, eh?" he asked nonchalantly.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking. Why are you doing this to Jenny!?"

Sargon chuckled as he stared down at his fist.

"I have my own plans, you know? I am Sargon, I am a king! If it wasn't for you and your friends, I would've gotten what I wanted! But nooooo...you just had to show up. Two ghosts put my soul on contract for you because I wanted more power, and then I die to a Greek's soul-stealing trident. But, the moment my body turned to dust, that pact was up," he began.

"Wha-"

"Now hold on there, girl. I'm not finished. When he flung my soul, I remained outside a body for so long I became a ghost. A ghost with all my abilities still intact...even the ones I received from that pact. My part of the deal was done, and my reward was a boost in my plans to take over this sorrowful planet," he continued.

"Sorrowful? What do you mean?" she asked.

"Ever since you left, the world went kaput. All these giant monsters, alien threats, Reploid rebellions, and, now, an ice age, has destroyed the world you thought it was going to build into. It's not fit for a king like me. That is why I have a new mission. Take over this world, and genetically create new life in my image!"

Val's Aura Bonding was suddenly shut off as a beam of yellow light descended from the sky. The light landed and instantly transformed into a robot that she swore she saw before. It fired a massive bolt of electricity at Sargon, creating an explosion that knocked Val to her knees.

"Not on my watch you won't!"

Val shook her head as the robot held a hand for her to grab. He helps her stand and prepares his arm cannon.

"T-Thank you..." she mumbled.

"No problem. Run along kid, I have some unfinished business with this fellow here," he said. Val nodded, fearing something bad was gonna happen. She morphed into a hummingbird and flew up to the overhang like she did before, but stopped dead in her tracks. She turned back to Jenny. She felt hopeless in her struggle to overcome what was happening to her, and Val couldn't help at the moment.

With the girl out of the way, the robot poised himself for the fight of his life.

"...about time you showed up," Sargon growled, standing back to full height, only having the paint job on his chest ruined by the blast. His grin returned as large claws emerged from his hands. "Been waiting to test these out."

The robot prepares his arm cannon, prepping to do battle.

Meanwhile, at the Ottoman Military Base:

Everyone was quiet. They awaited the eventual return of Val, Owen, Jay, and Gem, but nothing had happened yet. Owen did contact them saying they found Val, but after that, their signal was blocked. They were using the Ottoman internet...what power does this island have now that they are able to block incoming signals from a nation they thought was technologically superior?

The alarm wasn't no better. How long was this supposed drill gonna take? They swear they'll be hearing it for a couple of weeks when they return home from this mess. Vida was outside, standing out in the doorway. Gunfire could be heard a little while away, but she figures that it was just part of the drill.

That thought soon vanished when a roar shook the earth beneath her. She looked up into the sky as a giant blue blur flew past her view, followed by two Ottoman flying machines. They fired their machine guns at it, but it swiftly turned and sped at them, going so fast they couldn't dodge. Like a sword, the blur cut through the helicopters with its wings, causing them to explode without any visible damage to the blur. It soon landed on top of a building. She ran out of the alleyway to see what it was. Her brows furrowed when she saw what it was.

It's a massive monster, that's for sure. Twenty-seven meters long, ten meters at the shoulder, a wingspan of almost fifty meters, and a body covered in crystal armor.

"A dragon? That's new," she says to herself.

The dragon roared as soldiers poured into the plaza, shooting their weapons at it. The bullets did nothing to its armor, not even a scratch. She could see it grin as its eyes began to spark with energy. In a fraction of a second, a massive beam of light escaped its eyes, slamming into the plaza. Every soldier, building, and vehicle in its path was either vaporized or destroyed.

Vida felt something was off about this dragon. Not only was it not using its breath, but it also didn't seem to be doing this...in a malicious manner. No, it seemed like it was trying to take something back. Who was this dragon, and where did it come from?

It stopped shooting its beam and got off its perch, stepping onto the ground. Fire was all over the place as it approached the portal rocks. It began to pick them up with its mouth. Vida knew she had to react now. Those portal rocks were their only ticket back to Jurassic World. She wasn't just gonna stand there and let this dragon take it from them.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, human," the dragon growled. She stopped. His voice was massive, imposing, and sounds like he has had more experience in fighting than she has ever had.

"What do you think you're doing!? You think were just gonna let you go with the portal rocks after what you done to this base!?" she shouted.

"Why am I being antagonized?" he asks, stepping on the corpse of an Ottoman humal. Her eyes widened when sparks flew out of the humal's body. "You must realize that the Ottomans attacked my kingdom and our ally many years ago just because it was one of the few non-desert places on the planet."

"I don't think I'll fall for that trickery, dragon. You need to be stopped," Vida said.

"What can you do? All you have are a few pistols and martial arts skills."

Vida glared at the dragon as she pulled a grenade from one of the soldier's belt and threw it at the dragon. He simply stood there as the explosion enveloped a bit of his body. He moves out of the smoke, clearly not damaged. She growled a bit, only to hear footsteps behind her.

"A DRAGON!?" she heard Damien yell.

"Wait, didn't Val say that a dragon covered in a weird crystal helped her the first time on that island?" Quinn asked.

"Val?" the dragon growled, looking back at them. "I haven't heard that name in years."

The kids gasped in horror at the destruction the dragon caused. Some of the adults were like this as well, but Vida, Angel, and Devlin were as stoic as ever.

"Why...why would he do this," the blonde shuddered.

"He said something about "the Ottomans attacking his kingdom and ally first," which I find hard to believe," Vida explained.

"Guys."

"That doesn't give him the right to...to do this," Aggie mumbled.

"Hey guys...uh-"

"I don't know if what he says is factual, but I do know something, he isn't as accepting of humans as Val led to us believing," Angel interjected.

"Listen, uh-"

"WHAT!?" Everyone shouted at Damien.

"Pretty sure he's gone."

Everyone looked back towards the plaza. The giant mass that was the dragon, as well as the portal rocks, were nowhere to be found. All that remained was the smoldering ruins of the once proud base and the large amount of bodies, with a lot of them having sparks shooting out of them, and destroyed vehicles. A single dragon, able to do this much damage in only a minute...it was horrifying to the young ones.

"Look around. See who's alive and who's not," Vida ordered. Vida, Angel, and Devlin quickly looked around the base, trying to find anyone that was alive.

They searched all over the base. They couldn't find anyone. That dragon...he managed to kill them all just by himself. They continued their search, hoping somebody was alive. Their search, however, was fruitless. But something was nagging at Angel. She could tell something was wrong with these soldiers. And it was only after scanning every single one of them she realized what was wrong.

They...were all robots.

Angel had no idea how to explain it to everyone. It would shatter what they thought these guys were. Her mind raced with questions and thoughts, trying to piece together what to tell them. However, she needed to say nothing. They could all tell they were robots now, just by the fact all of them had metallic parts jutting out from their insides or were sparking like mad.

"W-What do we do now?" Quinn asked, full of fear.

"I don't know...but I know for a fact we need to get those portal rocks back. If this is the same dragon Val met in her stay on that island, then I think he's heading back there," Vida told them.

As they were formulating a plan, they heard the sound of rumbling rubble. They quickly rushed over there, with Devlin and Angel lifting the rocks up with their magic. They reveal Scout, Soldier, Demo, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, and Shifu. They didn't seem to be hurt, but they all could tell they were not what they had seemed. Parts of their skin, and one of Shifu's ears, had been torn off by the collapsing building. This revealed their inner workings...which turned out to be just as robotic as the soldiers that lay dead around them.

"How long have you been keeping this from us...and how are we not able to tell you were robots until now!?" Vida questioned him. Shifu sighed, feeling the spot where his ear used to be.

"Of course this would happen. It would only be a matter of time before those dragons retaliated," he said. Vida's eyes widened. That dragon was right!?

"How many more lies has the Ottomans told us?" Angel asked.

"If you want to know...follow me."

Shifu began to walk towards one of the few buildings still standing. Everyone followed after, intending on learning what was really happening.

Oh boy, they're in for a treat.

Things are being set in motion. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. If you have ideas, leave a review.

Also, Dolphinheart99 (the one who made Val, Angel, and some others), I don't know if you read this story any more, but I must ask. I have a few more chapters planned for this story, but after those, I don't know if I should continue this story. If you want me to, that's fine. If not, then the last chapter is coming.
