The Little Girl and the Ottomans

Chapter 20

Ex-Ottoman Base:

Everyone gathered around in the portal room. Tension filled the air. The robots were gearing themselves up for one last mission. It's obvious that their time was coming soon, why not make a big bang out of it? Vida stepped forth as the portal activated. Engi moved away from it, putting his wrench away.

"Phew! Got that one fixed up pretty good!" he joked. Thanks to him, the portal is able to take in as many people as needed. They needed it to do so, for they are all going to Zlarca to find Val and hopefully Jenny.

"Lets go. Val can't be too far behind, can she?" Vida told them. Everyone nodded, and one by one, they entered the portal, ready to face the horrors of Zlarca for the first time.

Before they could step into the portal, an explosion rocked the building. Fire bursts through the wall to their right, throwing some of them away while others managed to take cover. The roof collapsed as well, trapping some of them. Luckily, Devlin used her magic to protect most of them, and lifted the rubble...only to find that the portal had been taken.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" Quinn yelled. She already had to deal with the shock of being lied to by the country she trusted, but this was just too much. Too many things happening to get in everyone way, and they all were furious.

"What in Sam's hell..." Engi looked up to see a large mechanical owl flying away with the portal. "The Syndicate..."

"Wait, I thought that Clockwork guy said that most of the Syndicate did not belong in the universe and were erased?" Quinn asked.

"Well, looks like this Clockwork guy was wrong about this fellow. We need to catch him. That portal is the only means of getting to the island without setting off the alarms or getting attacked by the flying creatures or dragons that live on it," Shifu explained.

"Is there a plane that still works?" Angel inquired.

"I sensed a working plane in the destroyed airfield," Devlin said.

"Alright, does anyone know how to fly a plane?" Quinn shouted as they ran out of the burning building, heading for the planel.

"Pretty sure this one can fly itself," she added.

"Oh...right. Well, let's get going!"

They got to the air field, and saw that, instead of a pristine plane ready to go, it had transformed into a tall robot. It was probably a Cybertronian, unless its simply a robot that can take the shape of a plane. They know nothing of Reploids, so they can't decide on what is what.

Quinn was screaming internally while the others stared at the large robot. Rockets emerged from its wrists, which ejected from it and flew straight at the group. Devlin used her magic to redirect the missiles, throwing them at the ground around them.

"We must not destroy this robot. It's our only ticket to catching that bird!" she told everyone.

"Got it!" Quinn yelled. She activated her armor and used her tractor beams to grab the robot's arms. She thrusts her arms down to the ground, sending the robot to its knees. It struggles to break free as Devlin approaches it. A light forms around her hands as she tries to get it out of its hypnosis. She was then shot back suddenly. She skidded to a halt as a ghostly figure emerged from its body.

"DAN!?" Damien said. It's been forever since they saw him...not that they wanted to. But after hearing what happened to him in the past, they all felt pity for him.

"Sorry, syndicate business tells me to do this," he tells them with a grin.

"WAIT-"

They didn't get a chance as he shoots a heat beam from his eyes, destroying the robot. He laughs as he opens a portal and goes through it. Quinn fell to her knees as she deactivates her armor.

"What are we gonna do now? Devlin can't exactly teleport to the island because its deities apparently know that we can teleport there and are therefore keeping a magic barrier around the island to prevent it," Angel told them.

"Wait, they have gods?" Aggie questioned her.

"I read it in one of the books in the Archive. Apparently there are more gods than the ones that Val met when she first came to the island. I'm betting they know we are magical," she explained. Everyone took note of this, and began pondering a plan. Quinn suddenly shot up, an idea in her mind.

"What if we contact their gods to transport us there so we can get Val?" she told them.

"Can we do that?" Vida asked Devlin.

"It will take a lot, but I think I can do it," she tells them.

"Well do it chucklenuts! We're being very slow!" Scout interjected, earning a glare from Vida, causing him to hide behind Soldier in fear, which causes Damien to laugh.

"Okay...here goes."

Wruitan Mountains, Zlarca:

Zapper finally awoke after that long tumble down the mountain. Sparks erupted from his joints and oil was leaking from a cut on his back. That fall definitely did a ton of damage. He stood up, albeit weakly, as she scanned the surrounding area. It seemed quiet. Too quiet. Knowing Trousk, he certainly shouldn't be like this. He and Sargon must be fighting somewhere in another part of the range.

Suddenly, his scanners go off, and he puts up a defensive shield around him as energy bullets rain upon him from all sides. Those Mavericks are down where he is now, and they're looking to finishing him off before they're done. He gritted his teeth as he feels his shield starting to break. He needed a plan, quick. And, for this situation, only one drastic plan could be taken.

Before he could put this plan into action, a robot's head is thrown at him. It bonks against the shield and rolls away. He looks at it in confusion, but realizes that the screams of robots are being muffled by the sound of non-robot gunfire and the clawing and slashing of what sounds like a dinosaur. He deactivates his shield as a familiar figure steps out from the shrubs.

"Man you're beat up." It was Jay. He is covered in oil from the robots he tore apart.

"I know...what are you doing here? I thought Trousk ordered you to stay at Ironrealm," the Reploid says. Gem and Owen soon step out into view as well, also covered in oil.

"Val went missing. I figured she went here because she likes to follow the heros," Owen told him.

"That explains a lot," Zapper mumbles. "When I got to the battlefield, I saw this "Val" near a robot that was being used as a portal. I told her to get away from the carnage, and she ran, but I don't think she'd be too far."

"That's good. You need help?" Gem asked him.

"I'm...fine. By the way, how did you guys get here anyway? I don't recall you all having teleportation powers," Zapper inquired.

"We had to do some heavy convincing, but the base allowed us to teleport here in order to get my niece," Owen told him. The Reploid nodded as Jay, Owen, and Gem walked past him, ready to head up the mountain to find Val.

"Hold on! You're gonna need help.

"Aren't you a bit hurt to be going back up?" Gem asked.

"I'll be fine. There's probably an energy canister up there somewhere," said Zapper as he stepped up beside them.

"I see...I hope Val's okay," she mumbled.

"She'll be fine. If Zapper is right, she should be far from the carnage," Owen comforted her as they all began to walk. "Though I am worried like you and Jay are."

"I'll take the lead. Follow me!" Zapper ordered, getting in front of them. Jay sighed, not liking to follow military-like orders, but he did as he was told, and he, Owen, and Gem followed the Reploid up the mountain.

Further up the mountain:

Unaware to the Mavericks guarding the portal-generating Jenny, a ship of unknown origin landed close by. While cloaked, it allowed a single individual to step out. He looked down at his arm as wrist blades emerge from a compartment in his armor. As the ship flies off, he hides behind a stalagmite as he scans them. He knows that they are the enemy...and are worthy for the hunt.

Maneuvering quietly from place to place, he slowly killed the robot guards. Despite them being, well, robots, they were really ease to dispose of. As he finished off the last one, he crouched down beside it. Using his wrist-blades, he sliced the robot's head off. He raises it into the air before roaring a guttural bellow into the sky.

That bellow was soon followed by the sound of helicopter blades. He looked at the cliff beside him as a helicopter machine in the shape of a bee popped up from under his view. It shot large balls of energy at him, forcing him to drop the head and roll out from its aim. He quickly activated his cloak as it lost track of him. As it scanned the ground around Jenny, it quickly got on top of the ledge next to their arena before uncloaking.

His plasmacaster was ready to fire. Its laser directly at the "head" of the machine, he charged it up before firing a powerful shot towards it. The blast easily destroyed the front of the machine, causing it to barrel towards Jenny. It smashed into her, disconnecting the wires that kept her from her free will. As it exploded, sending her limp body towards the cliff, her head quickly closed itself.

Finally, she could feel again. Instead of waking up in an infirmary, she found herself careening down a cliff.

"OH GOD!" she yelled. She quickly stopped herself by activating her boosters."Phew."

She flew back up to the cliff. She dusted herself off before shouting happily. She was glad that she was okay and finally out of her trance. But who was her savior? She heard the sound of something uncloaking, and finds herself staring face-to-face with a Yautja. Instead of being scared, she was thankful, reminded of the...wait. If all the people from her base were robots...then the Yautja there are also robots. She scanned him, hoping that he was the real deal, which turns out to be true.

"Thank god I have someone who isn't a complete liar," she says. She goes through her language CD's and finds the one that she needs. She turns back to the Yautja. "Hey. Thanks for saving me."

"Of course you know how to understand me. I've never understood this planet," he growled. Jenny was aghast. She never expected that reaction.

"Cool...cool. What's your name?" she asks the Yautja.

"...Atui."

"Alright, Atui...you mind helping me out?"

"No. I'm done here. I wanted something to hunt, and I got what I needed," he tells her. He walks over to the head he dropped and picks it back up. She shudders at the sight of its frightened face. He pushes a few buttons on his wrist gauntlet to communicate with his ship in preparation to leave.

"Are you sure? I mean, not gonna lie, there is a robot here that could be a threat to both this planet and your own if we don't stop him," she says, trying to guilt-trip him into her side. He did ponder it for a moment, but looked away.

"Your planet apparently has some supernatural persons. You should be fine," he says. His ship soon arrives, and it lands beside him, crushing a robot body under its weight. He gets on, scoffing at her before the ship's door closes. He soon flies off.

"Oh...well...great." Knowing she was alone in her endeavor, she flies into the air and heads down the mountain. "Let's see where he had gone. He won't get me this time."

Two chapters in a day, lol. Hope you enjoyed this one as well. Leave a review if you want to see some of your ideas in this.

If you don't know, Atui is a predator I made for a different story called "The Ones They Fear," which is a AVPxBayverse Transformers crossover. It is completely separate from the timeline that this story is in, and it follows Atui as he survives a crash into Chicago as it is in the middle of a battle between the Autobots and Decepticons from Transformers Dark of the Moon. The Atui in this story is simply this universe's version. (I should probably update that story soon, figured the fans are waiting long enough.)

Anyway, this is Sporedude135, signing off...
