Chapter 2:

Calypso P.O.V:

Seeing that this was the first day of work there was not much to do, so after we were told to leave I had my stuff already packed and was ready to leave but just then I was stopped by none other than Leo Valdez.

"Hey Sunshine wait just a minute!" Leo said.

"What is it Leo? And how many more times do I have to tell you stop calling me that."

"Aww no need to be so rude, fine if you don't like being called Sunshine would you prefer mamacita or mi amor." Asked Leo waggling his eyebrows at me.

"Arghhh you idiot I do have a proper name and I don't need you to keep inventing nicknames for me and I swear if you don't stop calling me.."

"Hey it's Calypso right?" I was stopped midway by my new colleague, I think her name is Emily. She is quite beautiful with 5'5 ft height, curly strawberry blonde hair and brown eyes.

"Yeah it's right and you are Emily if I'm not wrong, right?" I asked.

"Yup" she said popping the 'p'.

"So did you need anything, Emily?"

But before she could say anything she was interrupted by Leo.

"Emily such a beautiful name mind if I call you Emi, huh what do you say beautiful? He asked finishing it with a wink.

I might've hit him if not for the disgusted look Emily was already giving him which clearly said 'Get lost you lowlife'. I had to bit my lip from bursting in full force laughter although I'm pretty sure I let out a few snickers judging from Leo's embarrassed face.

"Will you please mind leaving us alone since I was trying to talk to her and not you and I already have a boyfriend." Emily finished with a glare.

I think her glare was working perfectly since I could see Leo gulping.

"Yeah yeah sure why not hahaha, anyway I already have Calypso here as my girlfriend and I would never break her heart .."

But before he could say anything more I interrupted him.

"Hmmm your girlfriend? I don't even think we are best-friends and last I checked you were shamelessly flirting with every beautiful girl you see." I finished saying all of that with sickly sweet voice and an innocent face.

Remember when I said Leo was embarrassed forget that because now he was so embarrassed he would've have given a firefighter truck a run for his money.

"Hahahahaaha ye-ah yeah right I was you know just joking because you know I already have someone waiting for me hahahaa huh wait a minute I just remembered I had to meet with my bro Jason so yeah bye ladies" he finished while stuttering and laughing nervously at the end. After that he was gone so fast, faster than you could say 'embarrassed'.

After he was gone both me and Emily burst out laughing so hard it almost took us 5 minutes to calm down and by the end of it we both had tears streaming down our face.

"Yeah so what did you want to talk about Emily?"

"Yeah before that, do you think that was bit too much I didn't want to break him."

"Huh you mean Leo, don't worry about him and it was both of us not just you, it will take 1000 times more than that to break him. Trust me." I said.

"Well if you say so, so I was meaning to ask you do you leave alone or with roommates?"

Oh no, I remember now that I was gonna have a new roommate and he was arriving today. Yeah you read it right it's a he and not she, I was confused at first too but since the house I'm living in is owned by a lady named Mrs. Dodds who is quiet strict and she almost looks like a monster, yeah I know it's not polite to say such things but I dare you not to say such things after meeting her. So anyway since he was shortlisted by yours truly she demon I didn't think living with him will be harder since he must be someone who is quiet type who just minds his own business or at the very least emo type considering the type of aura Mrs. Dodds emitates. Oh how wrong I was.

"Hey Calypso you there? Hello?" Emily asked waving her hand in front of my face.

"Oh yeah, sorry was just thinking some stuff, so Emily I'm really sorry but I already have a roommate." I said.

"Ohh it's okay don't worry about it."

"No wait if you don't have a place to stay you know we could just both sleep in my room till you find your own place." I said.

"Oh no no no I already have a place."

"So were you asking for a friend, if it's a girl I think I could manage but it's a no for a boy." I declared.

"Oh you see I was asking for myself" seeing my confused face she continued " you see I'm living with my grandma and she is not the most sociable person to have around yourself."

"Well like I said I already have a roommate so I think you better find something other than talking to entertain yourself." I finished with a laugh.

"Yeah I think so too, so seeing I took so much of your time why don't I just give you a ride home."

"Well if it's not a problem I'd love a free ride." I said.

With that said we both drove in her Red 2020 Chevrolet Spark LS it only took us five minutes to reach my place seeing that it is only 15 minutes walk from my home to hospital. After dropping me off she left with a promise to eat lunch together with me and Will from now on.

When I reached the front door I found it locked, hmm weird, I checked my phone and found that it was 6:30 pm, I think Mrs. Dodds said my roommate was going to reach till 5:00 pm perhaps he got late or held up somewhere. With that worry gone I entered my home and relaxed on the living room couch.

"Since I'm going to have my first male roommate why don't I prepare a feast for the new guy." I said to myself after relaxing a bit and got up to prepare the food.

Well when I said feast I didn't actually meant it but I did prepare -chicken curry, yellow Jasmine rice and enchiladas. But the one for whom I had prepared all of these still hadn't come by the time it was 7:50 pm so I thought of calling Mrs. Dodds but when I talked to her all I did was make her hate my-to-be-roommate or perhaps it would be more appropriate to call him my-would've-been-roommate since she was droning on about how careless and unpunctual kids have gotten nowadays. Although the kid in this case was my age(which is all she told me about him, but she didn't think saying his name was important.) but seeing or listening to how angry she was I did not point it out.

Finally at 8:30 pm I ate by myself when I got the call from Mrs. Dodds saying that not to worry and that I should just forget that I was gonna have a new roommate since he could've just gotten himself killed. After I heard the last statement I seriously thought about suggesting her a psychologist but I held it in, although I was still a bit worried for the new guy. Later I just busied myself in my garden which is at the back of my house. Since I like gardening so much I didn't realize it was almost 9:30 pm by the time I thought of checking my phone. After that I cleaned myself and got to do some last-minute small menial tasks which were pending.

By the time it was 10:30 pm I just went to sleep thinking that perhaps his car or flight or whatever he was traveling through must've had some kind of problem and perhaps I will see him tomorrow and for the final time too seeing how angry he had made Mrs. Dodds.
