Rising of the Fist

Chapter One

My name is Makoto, Makoto Ito. I'm a high schooler in his last year, but you can easily spot me at school to how different I look. I'm 5'11 with slicked backed hair and well-toned muscles...not overly large like a bodybuilder's but taut and compact like a car-spring under tension and just as strong. This is because, just like the rest of my family, I am way into martial arts, even my mother Aiko is into it and she's a nurse. I remember one time that a drugie came to the hospital armed with a gun demanding drugs...he got his drugs alright, drugs from a drip after mum put his head through drywall!

While my mother is a sweet person, you do not want to piss her off...if you do, you'll have to go to her to recover from the very injuries she gave you in the first place. She and dad met at an MMA tournament; in fact, they were even opponents with dad as the favourite to win the entire thing due to his name and teacher...which was my grandfather Hiruzen Ito. Unfortunately, dad didn't even get past the first round as when he saw mum, a no-name combatant from a small providence with no prior experience with tournaments he got cocky...too cocky. She surprised him with a high punch followed by a duck and spin under the returning punch aimed at her mid-drift. Coming out, she slams the back her hand into his sternum which was then followed by a knee in the exact same place and finished by a high kick that laid him on his ass. No matter how many times I've seen them fight, I'm still surprised about how brutal it was. After the fight and after he woke up dad went to apologise for his behaviour, an apology that mum accepted, one thing led to another, and soon they began to date even meeting his father Hiruzen after their second date as he wanted to meet the girl that KO'ed his son. Mum and dad were quite nervous about that meeting, but it turns out that he was over the moon that his son was able to find a woman that could knock him out when he did something stupid just like his own wife did. Unfortunately, grandmother died when dad was still a kid, complications from a disease that was curable not 5 years later leaving grandad to raise dad by himself which he did as well as he could.

Dad went on to create his own company, a quite successful one at that. He still trains but not as much as grandad just enough to keep his skills sharp and improve himself.

Grandad basically retired from the fighting arena and spends his time training. However, he still makes some appearances from time to time to show that he's still the best (usually just the final of the world martial arts championship but there are other cases). He has a cabin in the wilderness near our home that he lives in, anyone interested in being training him has to find him after climbing up hundreds of stairs, sometimes if grandad will leave a couple of buckets there. A note to bring him some water as a joke...the joke being that he has full indoor plumbing and the water will be used for something menial, such as washing the stone's in front of his cabin before giving the guy a cup of water from a nearby tap. He doesn't train everyone that comes to see him though, only if they impress him through either dedication or passion...though he has been known to train a couple just because he was bored (unless they were incredibly arrogant and demanded training then they would be kicked back down the stairs). How long he trains them for changes, some he's only trained for a couple of hours, some a couple of days or even a week, the longest was a woman called Beatrix who he trained for just over a month. He usually only trains one student at a time and but he was known to make an exception and train two if they impressed him enough. The lessons were always different, some were all about the physical, some were all about the mind, but most were about both. Either way, everyone that had him as a teacher, no matter how brief all agreed that training under him is worth nearly any price. My own views of my grandfather are completely different than those outside my family, to everyone else his the big scary martial artist, to me he's just the gruff grandad who'd lend an ear when the world's problems got too much and give me some advice when I needed it. When the world saw a fierce fighter, who could break a man in two I saw a grandad who would dress up as Santa for Christmas...I have to say we had some of the weirdest Christmases...but as a child it made sense, Santa would have to be really strong to deliver all those presents in a single night.

As close as I am to my grandfather, my little sister is even closer; she's the apple of his eye. While he'd usually keep up a tough exterior in front of me at all times, it would always fall away in front of my little sister. Mum says it's because she reminds him of grandmother, whatever the reason he's always had a soft spot for her, calling her his Kayda which means little dragon. The name fits her, but I'd say see's more of a ferocious dragon than a little one. While I trained in my mother's style with some of my fathers mixed in, my sister's is entirely from our grandfather. All in, no holds barred, very little focus on defence nearly all attack. It's not for me but for her and grandad it's perfect. I remember one time we had a new kid, a cocky piece of shit who thought he was amazing due to his parent's money and would sleaze all over the girls, it worked for a time...of course not all girls fell for it, but enough did to fuel his ego. That's when he made his mistake, he went after Kosuke; he must have heard that she was one of the most desirable girls at school and despite warnings not to due to her family (which he ignored..the self-entitled bastard). So one day Kosuke is looking through her locker when the asshole in question walks by, wolf-whistles before slapping her on the ass. Her response was to spin around and kick him in the face so hard his head slammed into the locker denting it. His parents, of course, wanted to press charges and get the school to suspend her. Still, between eyewitnesses, complaints from girls who didn't like the guy's advances, a wealthy father who was a CO and who's muscles were barely held in by a suit and a scowling grandfather that looked like he benchpresses cars for a living not much happened and the guy left school shortly after that. Sis never had much luck in the boys before or after that. The first time she brought a boy home for dinner dad and grandad took him into the backyard and dad proceeded to punch a tree hard enough to form cracks, grandad then put his hand in those cracks and literally ripped the tree in half. They then told the boy that if he ever hurt Kosuke that they would do that to his dick...needless to say, he didn't stay for dinner. Mum and Kosuke were kind of pissed off about it, mum for the scaring off the boyfriend and destroying her tree (dad had to buy another one and granddad had to plant it, ps it was a full-grown one to boot), Kosuke was just angry that another boy got scared off. It used to really bother her until she realised that if they wouldn't or couldn't stand up to her father and granddad, then they probably weren't worth her time, to begin with.

Why am I tell you this? Well, this is my story and how my life changed forever, so sit back and grab a coke because it's about to get epic.

Side note

Originally it was just going to be Makoto joining Naofumi but I think I'll have Kosuke go along for the ride, however I'm not sure if she will be there from the start of come in after a few episodes, email me what you think
