Chapter 7 – Family Ties and Quidditch Trys
(Harry POV)
As Friday evening came, I found myself walking through the castle to Sirius and Remus's rooms. The week had passed quickly with little of interest happening in classes. I had spent my time away from Hermione and Ron after our argument on Monday and I was starting to notice something. Just a feeling that something wasn't right with them, though I couldn't put my finger on exactly what it was.
"Hello young man, how may I help you?" A portrait roused me from my musings, and I was surprised to see I had reached my Dogfather's rooms already.
"Oh hello Sir. My name is Harry, I am here to see Sirius and Remus." I smiled at him as I introduced myself. "Please could you tell them I am here."
"What excellent manners young man. Indeed, they told me you were coming. My name is Samael Hickory and I am your Godfather's room guardian, they have instructed me that you are always permitted entrance." He nodded to me as his portrait opened to allow me entrance. "Have a pleasant evening young Harry."
"You too Sir. Thank you." I quickly walked into the rooms and peered around in interest.
The small hallway from the portrait led to a cozy sitting room. On the far wall was a large fireplace with a fire flickering away within it and in front lay a fluffy black rug with a dark wood coffee table on top. A black sofa sat opposite the fireplace on the other side of the rug, and there was an armchair on each side. On another wall I could see a doorway leading to a kitchenette and another hallway which most likely led to bedrooms and a bathroom. On the grey stone walls hung portraits and tapestries and one full wall I had come from had floor to ceiling bookshelves bursting with books on numerous subjects.
As I walked further into the room, I took more notice of the various portraits and tapestries that hung on the walls and placed around the room. I noticed the wedding picture of my parents that had been at Grimmauld Place was now on the mantle place, along with a picture of me from when I was a baby.
"Pup you're here!" I turned from my perusal as Sirius spoke, and saw them coming from the hallway from the bedrooms.
"Hi Siri, hi Remi." I smiled at them as Sirius, then Remus hugged me in greeting. They both looked relaxed. Sirius was in his trademark black leather trousers and a black button-up shirt, with the top few buttons undone, showing off the tattoos on his chest, whilst Remus wore trousers and a turtleneck jumper.
After hugs and greetings Siri and I sat down on the sofa and Remi went to the kitchen and came back with a pot of tea and three mugs. He sat on an armchair and poured the three of us tea. I took mine gratefully and held it in my hands as I sat back into the comfort of the sofa.
I sipped my tea, letting it warm me from the inside as I watched the flickering flames of the fire. We drank in silence for a time before Siri finally broke it.
"So, Pup, how have you been this week? We saw you were not with Hermione and Ron much this week. Is everything ok?" He turned to face me properly on the sofa and I couldn't help the deep sigh that left me.
"I don't know Siri. Something isn't right with them. I can't really explain it." I wiped my hand down my face as I sighed again.
"How do you mean Cub?" Remus asked me, as he set his tea down.
"Well, they've always hoarded my attention jealously. I've never noticed before how they always get annoyed if I talk to someone else without them. Neville even told me this week, whilst we were doing homework in the library, that Ron had told him to back off and that I was his friend not Neville's." I paused to sip my tea, and Remus and Sirius waited patiently for me to continue.
"Hermione always acts as if I am stupid and can't do anything by myself. She always corrects my homework before I hand it in except, I know it was fine before. And I actually think once or twice she has used some of my work in her own but took it out of mine saying it wasn't right." I could feel myself getting angry and took a few breaths to calm down. As I did so I looked to Siri and Remi and I could see anger in their eyes too.
"And also, Ron can't seem to get past stupid house prejudices and think for himself. I have been working on a group project in COMC with the Black Sisters, Blaise Zabini and Theodore Nott and all he's doing is spouting prejudice bullshit and insulting them." At that I saw Sirius's anger rise again. He may not have seen them grow up or known about them but Ariadnae and Redina were his nieces and he would love them as only family could.
"Well Cub. You do have a lot on your mind." Remi sighed. "To start, we agree that they do get jealous when you talk to others, we have noticed this before and spoken about it, but we are very pleased to see you branching out. And Neville is a good friend, he won't let Ron scare him off a friendship with you and you shouldn't either. And tell us if Ron tries threatening him or others again and we will deal with it." Sirius nodded in agreement.
"As for the homework, you are certainly not stupid. I will speak to the other teachers about her behaviour and they will ensure that your homework is your own. They will also keep an eye on her work. You will just have to ensure that she cannot get her hands on it. If you have any more issues with that then speak to your head of house or one of us. It is not acceptable behaviour and none of the teachers will stand for it." Remus continued and then for the last point Siri took over.
"I know I have not helped with the prejudice issue, but most of that has stemmed from my belief that my brother was dead. I am truly sorry Pup and I promised to not let it happen again. You can be friends with whomever you want. And I am so pleased that you're getting on with your cousins. Don't let that idiot boy stop you from knowing your family." Sirius, took my hand and squeezed it in comfort.
"Thanks Siri." I smiled at him. "Ariadnae and Redina said something about being my cousins too but I don't know how. Do you?"
"Oh Pup. I'm so sorry not to have told you sooner. After your parents got married, we found out that your mum was never an Evans. Her mother was Lucretia Black, my aunt. We never did find out who her father was. From what we could find out, Aunt Lucretia gave Lily up to the Evans' shortly after she was born for protection. We couldn't find a solid reason, but it was possibly because she was an unwed mother." Sirius squeezed my hand again. "Lily was so excited to find out we were related. She loved her adopted parents, but she always wanted a family member to share this world with. Sadly, by the time we found this out Aunt Lucretia had died, and they had never reconnected."
I sat processing this new information, whilst watching the fire again. "So mum was actually a half blood?"
"Yes, at least. Possibly a pureblood but we can't be sure without knowing who her father was." Remus replied.
"Is there any potions or spells that reveal that kind of information?" I asked them.
"There is. It is part of the curriculum for this year. Severys added it to the curriculum once he became a teacher here. He was good friends with your mum from childhood, and later us and your father too, and wanted to ensure no other child would not know their family." Remus answered.
"Ok I can wait to take it, might get me used to the idea of being a pureblood." They both chuckled at me. "Wait you said Snape was friends with you all? Why is he so awful to me then?"
"Part of that is because he has to be Pup. He is a spy for the Order and has to be seen acting a certain way. We already know Voldemort is back after he kidnapped you last year for his resurrection. If he had been nice to you, or even the same as he is to other, which we can agree is not the best, then Voldemort and the other Death Eaters would question him and not trust him with the information we need them to trust him with." Sirius paused.
"On the other hand, Cub, Severus is not the same he was in school. He is more closed off and keeps himself closed off. I am not sure if Lily's death changed him or if it is something else, but he isn't quite the same man we were friends with." Remus continued.
"I understand I think." I took the time to pour us all another tea from the teapot which had a heating charm on it so that the tea wouldn't get cold. "I suppose all of this will just be a wait and see situation."
"Yes Pup." Sirius agreed and he took his mug back with a small thank you.
"Well I am not going to let Ron and Hermione stop me from making more friends, and I need them to apologise before I even consider forgiving them." I spoke determinedly. "And I will get to know my cousins too."
"That is a good plan Cub." Remus smiled at me. "Anyway, let's talk about something more pleasant."
"Right you are Remi, are you looking forward to quidditch try-outs tomorrow Pup?" Sirius grinned happily at me and I couldn't help but chuckle.
That evening we ate dinner in their rooms, and we spent the rest of the evening before I had to go back to my common room, laughing and talking and enjoying a bit of family time.
(Redina POV)
As Saturday morning dawned, Ariadnae slept for a bit longer, and I slipped out to meet Susan and Hannah for our morning run. I met them outside the doors as they were stretching out ready to go.
"Good morning Susan, Hannah." I greeted with a small smile.
"Morning Redina. No Ariadnae this morning?" Hannah replied, Susan also saying good morning.
"Not today. She is having a lie-in as she is trying out for the quidditch team today." I replied as I did my pre-run stretches as well.
"Oh she plays quidditch?" Susan asked.
"Yes, she's a seeker." I answered.
"Ha I bet Malfoy didn't take that well. Or does he not know yet?" Susan replied and they both laughed as we started our run.
"He does know. And you are right. He was not pleased at all. He'll be even less so when Ari takes his spot as seeker." I smirked; it would be great when Ari took him down a peg.
"You really think she'll get the spot over him?" Hannah queried.
"I do. She is an excellent player and damn scary on a broom." We continued our light conversation as we jogged around the black lake three times before going back to the castle.
We walked to the dungeons, still talking amongst ourselves, before we split and went to our respective common rooms.
As I walked into Ari and I's room, I found her doing yoga in a nice pair of cloth workout leggings and a form-fitted, long-sleeved top.
"Morning sister. How was your run?" She smiled up at me from the floor.
"It was good. I'm just going to take a shower, then I'll be ready for breakfast." I removed my trainers before walking towards our en-suite bathroom.
"No rush sister, we still have forty-five minutes." She replied as she changed positions and I looked at the clock. It was 0715, I had been gone an hour and a quarter.
After a quick shower, I was changed and ready to go and Ari had finished her yoga. We met Blaise and Theodore in the common room, and we made our way leisurely to the Great Hall.
The Great Hall was about half full as we entered, with members from each team and people who wanted to try out, eating their breakfasts before try-outs started. We were first, followed by Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and finally Hufflepuff. Malfoy was already sat at our table and he glared at us, Ari specifically, as we sat down the table from him.
"Do you have a problem Malfoy?" I asked him, arching my eyebrow. I did not take kindly to people glaring at my sister.
"You're my problem mudblood. And your bitch of a sister thinking she can take my place in the team." He spat at me, just as his father was walking up towards us, presumably to wish his son luck. I saw the anger spark in Lord Malfoy's eyes before his Slytherin mask replaced it.
"What did you just say Draco?" There was venom in the Professor's voice as he spoke to his son.
Draco tensed.
'Oh fuck. This couldn't get any more perfect.'I heard Ari though our connection, and could feel her mirth.
'I know! Look at Malfoy's face. I think he's about to shit himself!' I replied, and we both had to contain our amusement.
"Fifty points and two nights detention with Professor Snape for your use of foul language and behaviour towards your fellow Slytherin's. I never want to hear you use those words again." His anger was palpable in the air, as Malfoy stuttered, trying to answer, before he turned his attention on us.
"Miss Black's, please accept my most sincere apologies as Lord Malfoy for a member of my House's behaviour towards you." He bowed respectfully, as pureblood etiquette dictates.
"We accept your apologies Lord Malfoy." Ari replied, nodding her head in return.
"Good luck at try-outs Miss Black." The Professor spoke to Ari.
"Thank you Sir." She replied. 'Oh my God. Malfoy's face is even more indignant if that's possible.'
'That was the best thing,'I responded.
With one last nod to us, and a glare at his son, Lord Malfoy stalked off to the head table. I saw him speak to Professor Snape before the Potions Master turned a deadly glare on Malfoy.
'Could this day get any better?' Ari asked me.
'Yes. It will be even more perfect when you crush that snot-nosed prick.' She laughed as I replied.
After finally being able to eat our lunch, the four of us made our way to the quidditch pitch.
"Good luck Ariadnae." Theodore spoke first.
"Thank you, Theodore." Ari smiled at him.
"Break a leg." Blaise grinned at her.
"Thank you Blaise." She laughed softly at him.
"Good luck sister, and fly true." I hugged her. "Stay safe."
"I will Red. Thank you." She hugged me back. "I'll see you guys after."
As we split apart, Ari stepped back and I saw the mischievous glint in her eye, "Accio broom."
Her broom flew at us from the castle and I could see the boys amazement, both at her show of power and the fact that she had a Fire Bolt Supreme, the best broom currently on the market. I shook my head as she winked at us then jogged off to the middle of the pitch, and we went to sit on the bleachers to watch.
"Holy Merlin. Ariadnae has a Fire Bolt Supreme?!" Blaise's shock amused me as he gaped at my sister.
"Yes, it was a present from our parents when we decided to come here for school." I gave a small smile to him.
"Did you get something as well Redina?" Theodore asked me.
"I did. My parents got me an encyclopaedia of magical creatures." I replied. "And please both of you call me Red."
'Tell them they can call me Ari too.'
"Thank you Red. Please call me Theo as well." Theo replied.
I nodded, "Ari said you can call her Ari too."
"She did?" Blaise asked, confused.
"Yes. We'll explain later, they're starting." I answered.
We turned our attention to the pitch as the Slytherin Captain, Graham Montague, joined his housemates.
"Welcome to try-outs. For those of you who don't know, I am Graham Montague and I am the Captain and one of the Chasers." He glanced at each person stood before him. "We will start with some endurance and basic manoeuvre drills before moving onto each position. Mount your brooms."
All of the wannabes mounted their brooms and kicked off, hovering above the ground. Montague joined them and they all hovered there for a minute or so, before one of the girls, a third year I think, began to wobble and move.
"Roslinda Burkhert, you're out. If you can't control your movement now, you're no good to me." Montague said, and the girl descended and got off her broom, running off of the pitch, nearly in tears.
"Ok team, I want you to lap the pitch until I tell you to stop." Everyone sped off and began flying as instructed. After five minutes, three boys began to slow, clearly getting tired after having rushed rather than pacing themselves. Montague told them to leave. After two more minutes he stopped the flyers.
"That's enough." The flyers assembled around him again, most looked tired, except Ari, who had actually paced herself.
"Ari doesn't even look winded!" Blaise exclaimed next to me.
"She wouldn't. She can do laps in her sleep. She once flew laps of our pitch for an hour solid, at much higher speeds than that." I replied and could see their shock.
As I turned back to the pitch, Montague had them flying what was essentially an obstacle course, going through hoops and around, over and under various obstacles. Two more people were told to leave.
"Alright, everyone back here. Split into the positions you want to try out for, seekers here, keepers here, chasers and beaters." He pointed to various points and the group split up. Ari and Draco were the only applicants for seeker. There were five beater candidates, dumb and dumber, aka Crabbe and Goyle, Flora Carrow, a sixth year, Malcolm Baddock, a second year, and Terrence Higgs, a fourth year. There were three candidates for chaser, Adrian Pucey and Cassius Warrington, both seventh years and Tracey Davis, a fellow fifth year. And there were two candidates for keeper, Miles Bletchley, a sixth year, and Iris Harper, a third year.
"Not a bad mix." I heard Theo say beside me, but I was too focused.
"We will do keepers and chasers at the same time. Bletchley you go first. Go to the hoops and defend, Pucey, Warrington, Davis I want you to throw the quaffle and try to score. Make sure you pass it between you." Montague instructed.
The flyers did as instructed, the chasers passing the ball between them for a short while before the attempts at scoring began. Davis fumbled somewhat, but her throws were relatively clean. Pucey and Warrington's throws were much stronger though. Bletchley's keeping was strong, saving most of the quaffles.
They were soon called to stop and then Harper took Bletchley's place. The chasers started off much the same and Davis was tiring. Harper did quite well, managing to stop around two thirds of the balls, she was quick and agile, narrowly missing stopping more of the shots.
Next up was the beaters. A bludger was released and the five candidates were instructed to fly around the pitch and defend themselves against the bludgers. After five minutes of this Montague stopped them and added targets. After doing this for a further five minutes it was clear that whilst Crabbe and Goyle had strength, their precision and accuracy was lacking.
"Ok that's enough." Montague called the beaters in. "Last up we have the seekers. Really easy, I'm going to release the snitch and you have to catch it."
"You're going down mudblood." Malfoy sneered at Ari.
"Really, you wanna go there again after getting your arse handed to you earlier by your father?" Ari raised an eyebrow at him and he paled again at the reminder.
Montague allowed the snitch to fly off before telling them to go and I watched as they both shot upwards. Ari hovered high above the ground as Malfoy flew around trying to find the snitch.
"What is she doing?" Blaise asked me.
"She's waiting." I replied.
"For what?" Theo pitched in. As he did, Ari shot off.
"For that." I grinned. We watched as Ari pushed her broom towards where she had spotted the snitch, and after a couple of beats Malfoy realised she'd found it and followed her. Ari dove and twisted around the obstacles that Montague had put out, gracefully manoeuvring around them. Malfoy's movements were quick as well, but not as neat.
He hit into her, trying to stop her getting the snitch and then they both started to climb higher. Ari pushed her broom faster, pulling away from Malfoy, before suddenly she was diving. It took Malfoy a moment to catch up, but it didn't matter now. Just feet from the ground Ari caught the ball and skidded to a halt, right in front of the rest of the Slytherin's who were trying out and they cheered.
She landed gracefully and gave the snitch to Montague. Malfoy landed a moment later and threw his broom down in a fit. He stormed up to Ari and tried to slap her round the face. The boys next to me stood up sharply in surprise before gaping as Ari caught the idiots hand, twisted his arm so it was straight out to his side, and flipped him over. He lay on his front with his wrist still caught in her hand, and her boot on his back.
"Enough!" Montague called out.
"Draco!" I saw Lord Malfoy storm up to them, pissed, with an equally pissed looking Potions Master next to him.
"I apologise Lord Malfoy." Ari stepped off of Malfoy and let go of his wrist, but kept her head held high.
"Please don't apologise Miss Black. This is the second time today that my son has tried to attack you." He grabbed his son tightly by the upper arm. "I once again apologise to you Miss Black."
He stormed off, dragging his son behind him, Professor Snape following behind him.
"Well, that was fun. I'd ask if you were ok Black but I think you did more damage defending yourself." Montague laughed, shaking his head. "Ok everyone, that's enough. You all did well. The team list will go up tomorrow morning. Hit the showers."
"Right Ari is going for a shower. I'm just gonna go speak to her before she does. I'll meet you in the common room." I spoke to the guys briefly before walking over to Ari after they nodded in agreement.
"Nice job sister." I gave her a hug, ignoring the small amount of sweat.
"Thanks Red. Did you enjoy watching?" She smiled at me.
"Ha I did. Especially the smack-down at the end." We both laughed before a voice interrupted us.
"Indeed Miss Black-"
"-quite impressive. Perhaps you could-"
"-teach us that some time."
We turned to see a pair of Gryffindor quidditch team members beside us, the infamous Weasley Twins.
"And you are?" Ari asked, despite us knowing already.
"Gred and Forge Weasley-" One started.
"-at your service." The other finished, before they both curtsied to us, grinning like idiots.
"Ah of course. The Weasley twins. A pleasure for you I'm sure." I replied as they walked closer, and I heard Ari chuckle next to me.
"You know Gred, they don't really look like twins." One spoke to the other.
"Right you are Forge. Maybe they're not really." The other replied.
"How about now?" I couldn't help myself. Using my abilities as a metamorphagus, I changed my face and hair to match my sisters, and then we both cracked up laughing at their dumbfounded expressions.
"That's wicked cool!" They both grinned together, once they got over their shock, and I changed back to my usual self.
"That must come in mighty handy Gred."
"Right you are again Forge."
We shook our head at their antics before they were interrupted by Harry.
"Fred, George we're going to start soon." He walked up to them happily. "Hi Ariadnae, hi Redina. How was your try-out Ariadnae?"
"It was good thank you Harry." Ari replied.
"Yeah especially when she flipped Malfoy on his arse!" One of the twins replied, grinning.
"What?" Harry grinned as he asked.
"We'll explain later. Let's go, Angelina is ready." They jogged off, after saying goodbye and we wished Harry goodluck.
Ari then headed off to the showers, whilst I went back to the common room.
The next morning, we woke early and met Susan and Hannah for our morning run. We chatted as we jogged about nothing in particular and decided we would meet up during the week to study together.
After our run we went back to the common room to find people standing around the notice board.
"Congratulations Ari! You're the teams new seeker!" Theo called cheerfully as he spotted us. Ari grinned beside me as we went over to see the notice.
'Attention Slytherins, your new team is as follows:
Captain: Graham Montague
Chasers: Graham Montague, Adrian Pucey, Cassius Warrington
Keeper: Miles Bletchley (Iris Harper in reserve)
Beaters: Flora Carrow, Malcolm Baddock
Seeker: Ariadnae Black'
"Well done sister." I congratulated her, sending my pride to her through our bond.
"Thanks Red." She grinned back at me, before turning to her new teammates and congratulating them.
"Miss Black." The stern voice of our head of house called and we both turned to look at him. "Your presence is required in my office after the incident yesterday Miss Black."
"Of course Sir. Now?" Ari stepped away from the other, and I saw Theo and Blaise exchange glances from the corner of my eye.
"Yes please Miss Black." Ari followed after him, and I turned back to the others.
"Do you think she's going to be ok?" Malcolm Baddock, the young beater asked me.
"Of course. She only defended herself." I replied, and he nodded before going to join his friends.
(Ariadnae POV)
I walked in to the Professor's office to see my parents, Lord Malfoy and the younger Malfoy waiting for us. Professor Snape went behind his desk and I went to my parents.
"Hi Mama, Papa." I spoke quietly, and they each touched my shoulder in greeting, we wouldn't be too intimate in mixed company. I sat in the spare chair in front of the desk, Malfoy in the other, and my parents rested their hands on my shoulders in support.
"Miss Black, do you know why you are here?" Professor Snape asked me.
"Yes Sir. Mr Malfoy tried to attack me and I defended myself." I replied respectfully, and my parents grip on my shoulders tightened.
"Excuse me?" My fathers voice was deadly in its calmness.
"That m- bitch is lying!" Draco exclaimed, jumping up from his seat, before his father shoved him back down.
"Mr Malfoy, I suggest you cease and desist this instant." Professor Snape's calm voice belayed his obvious anger. "Your father and I were witness to the whole thing."
"She provoked me!" He tried to argue still.
"No Draconis. She beat you." His father's voice was deep with barely restrained anger, and Malfoy spluttered at being told I beat him.
"Master and Madam Black, we called you here to inform you of the incidents which occurred yesterday." The Professor informed my parents.
"Incidents, plural?" Mother asked unhappily.
"Yes Madam. I am afraid my son decided to insult your daughters at breakfast, calling them foul names. I have taken points and given detentions for this and have formally apologised on behalf of the House of Malfoy for his behaviour and your daughters accepted this." Lord Malfoy started, at my parents nod he continued. "Unfortunately, Draconis then attempted to slap Ariadnae around the face and though she thwarted his attempt, I felt it only right to bring you both in to inform you of the incident and once again apologise for his actions."
"What punishment is the boy getting for attempting to physically assault my daughter?" My father's voice was eerie, his creature at the surface.
"Punishment?! I didn't do anything!" Malfoy tried to argue again.
"Shut up Draco!" His father snapped, clearly coming to the end of his tether.
"The only reason you did nothing was because of the instincts and reflexes in have instilled in my daughters from a young age. Had it been someone else, they may not have been so fortunate." My Papa replied icily.
"Indeed. We thought perhaps you might have a suitable punishment for him Master Black." Professor Snape piped in.
"I see. Perhaps something that ensures he can't run his mouth. If I may Lord Malfoy?" Father questioned, as he pulled his wand from its holster. The Malfoy Lord nodded and the younger Malfoy looked around frightened.
"Silencia Maxima." Malfoy's protests died in his throat as father cast the spell that would stop him from uttering a sound until he himself removed it. "You mentioned detentions?"
"Yes, he has two with me for his foul language and treatment of his housemates." Professor Snape replied.
"I will also be punishing him personally, Master Black." Lord Malfoy interjected.
"Thank you both. Now if that is all I would like to speak to my daughters?" Papa spoke.
"Of course. Miss Black, if you or your sister encounter any more problems, please come and see me." My Head of House answered.
"I will Professor. Thank you. Professor Snape, Lord Malfoy." I bowed my head to them both, before we left the office and returned to the common room.
As we returned to the common room, it was mostly empty except for Red, Theo and Blaise by the fireplace. The boys stood as we entered.
"Boys, would you mind giving us a moment?" Mother asked.
"Of course, Healer Black." Theo replied and the both bowed to our parents.
"Everything ok?" Red asked, getting up to greet our parents.
"Of course, dear. We just wanted to check on you both after what we just heard." Mother answered as we all sat on the sofas.
"Nothing we can't handle Mama. Malfoy Jr was just being extra stupid yesterday. Especially considering his father and Head of House were both around. But whilst Malfoy has paid insult to me, I do not consider it an insult from the House of Malfoy." I replied seriously.
"Ok Ari. I agree that Lord Malfoy seems more aggrieved by all of this than us." Father nodded in agreement.
"Definitely, I'd hate to be Malfoy right now. His father looked like he wanted to murder him." I laughed with my family, and we chatted for a while longer before they left.
(Third POV)
Same time in Gryffindor Common Room
Ronald Weasley sleepily walked down the stairs from his dorm room, rubbing his eyes, to see a crowd gathered around the House Notice Board. Rushing over upon realisation that the team selection for quidditch must have been posted, he read the notice, getting redder with each word.
'Attention Gryffindors, your new team is as follows:
Captain: Angelina Johnson
Chasers: Angelina Johnson, Katie Bell, Alicia Spinnet
Keeper: Jimmy Peakes
Beaters: Fred Weasley, George Weasley
Seeker: Harry Potter'
"WHAT!" Ronald yelled, upon seeing that his spot as keeper had been stolen, by a third year no less! "Angelina, what bullshit is this?!" His face grew even more red.
"Sorry Ron, but he performed better than you at try-outs." She replied. Plus, she added to herself, his temperament was much better!
Ronald didn't take this well, and stormed off, Hermione following after him quickly. She caught up with him outside and managed to convince him to go to the library to talk to him.
"Ron you have to calm down." They were in a little-used back corner of the library, surrounded by the oldest, dustiest books.
"Calm down?! Hermione, that stupid bint gave my position to some kid who is barely old enough to play." He raged, as he paced.
"Ronald there are more important things to worry about." She added from her seat at the desk.
"Like what?" He growled, continuing to pace.
"Like the fact that Potter hasn't spoken to us in a week!" She whisper-shouted angrily. "If we don't get him back in line Headmaster Dumbledore will be infuriated."
"That bloody attention seeking prat. He needs to listen to his betters when we tell him something!" Ron snapped, his anger shifting now.
After some time thinking about how they would get Harry back, they were interrupted by the timid voice of a first year Hufflepuff.
"Excuse me, Headmaster Dumbledore has asked me to tell you that he wants to see you in his office right away." The child scurried away after delivering the message, and Ron and Hermione glanced at each other before hurriedly making their way to the Headmaster's office.
