Cupid's Arrow:

Chapter 3:

Apartment of Angelica Church

Angelica stood there glaring at her phone as she shoved it back into her pocket. Thomas had just sent her a text saying that he couldn't join her on the lunch with meeting Alexander after all. Of course, he can't she muttered angerly in her head as she folded her laundry on the couch. She glanced up at the clock for a moment or two before there was a knock on the door. Angelica set the shirt she was folding down before she opened the door to see Peggy standing there, backpack over her shoulder.

"Hey," Peggy greeted as she gave her sister a wave of her hand before moving past her to come into the apartment before removing the backpack and putting it on the couch. "I came over as soon as I could."

Angelica nodded as she gave her sister a small smile, a hand moving up as she ran a hand through her hair. "Thank you so much for this, I'll pay you this weekend I promise."

Peggy shrugged as she flopped on the couch next to her backpack. "Where is the little munchkin anyways?"

"Taking a nap," Angelica called as she disappeared into her bedroom. She wandered into the closet and chose a white blouse and white skirt, with a pink blazer to wear over it before coming back out. "Anyways, I shouldn't be gone longer than three houses. I don't anticipate this lunch being much longer than that."

Peggy nodded as she opened her backpack, taking her homework out of it. "Got it, good luck with this lunch meeting."

Angelica let out a small sigh as she grabbed her purse and house key. "Thanks, this should be interesting."

Apartment of Alexander Hamilton

"What do you think one wears to a meeting with a TV producer?" Alexander asked as he came out in a dress shirt and pants. "Is this too fancy?"

John glanced up from his phone as he sat on the couch as he glanced over Alexander for a moment or two. "Aww, how come you never dressed up like that for me?" He teased as he grinned at Alexander.

Alexander rolled his eyes but had his own smile on his face. "First off, I didn't have a job when we were dating."

"You know I'm teasing you, right?"

"I do, I do, but back to my question, do you think this is okay?"

"Yes, yes, you look quite lovely."

"Thank you, I'll call you to let you know how this goes."

John grinned as he watched Alexander walk over to the door. "Good, I'm looking forward to hearing about this one."

Fiery Brooke

Angelica was seated, quickly checking her phone to see if Peggy had texted her anything before, she put it away after a moment or two. She glanced up to see a man being led over to her table, moving to stand up, a small smile on her face. "Alexander Hamilton?" She asked and reached her hand out to take his hand to shake.

He nodded his head as he shook her hand. "Yes, it's nice to meet you, Ms.—" he began.

"Angelica Church," she gestured to his seat behind him.

"Right," Alexander nodded as he lowered himself into the seat behind him. "Well, it's nice to meet you, like I said."

Angelica smiled brightly as she reached down into a bag she had brough with her. "I brought along the official contract with me. Unfortunately, Mr. Jefferson, the executive producer of the show, was unable to join us for lunch. We don't have sign anything right away as I'm sure you have a lot of questions."

Alexander nodded his head as he took the contract that she had placed on the table, reading it over rather quickly before looking over at her. "Ms. Church," he began.

"You can just call me Angelica."

Alexander was silent for a long moment before he nodded his head. "Right, Angelica, I do have a couple of questions."

She nodded her head. "Of course, feel free and go ahead to ask away."

"Is this show going to be as fake as any other dating show out there?"

She let out a small sigh, a hand coming up and running through her hair. It was a fair question. "Are you asking if we already have someone that we want you to pick to win?" She asked, giving Alexander a small smile.

He nodded his head. "Basically, more or less."

Her shoulders came up and down in a small shrug. "Yes and no. We have some things that we'll have hands on since we also have to compete with other shows out there but we also want connections to be formed between you and the woman of your choice."

Alexander nodded his head and before he could ask the waiter came over to take their orders. Angelica gave her order to the waiter as Alexander quickly glanced over the menu and giving his own order before handing his own menu to the waiter. As the waiter walked away with their orders Alexander glanced down at the contract before glancing up at Angelica once again. "Do you mind if I take this home to look over?"

Angelica was silent for a long moment, almost surprised that he wanted to take the contract home, but she smiled and nodded. "Of course, if you need a lawyer to look over it or anything-"

Alexander couldn't help but laugh. "I am a lawyer but yes, pretty much."

She could feel her cheeks flush as she nodded her head. "Of course, I almost forgot about that but yes please look it over. I'll email you where the studio is but we start filming in a couple of weeks."

Alexander nodded, setting the contract aside. "Of course, I'll get it back to you once I look it over. I just want to make sure I am aware of everything."

She nodded her head. "That sounds good," she said as she spotted the waiter soon coming back with their lunch. "Now, why don't we enjoy our lunch and I can try and answer any more questions that you might have."

Alexander nodded his head. "That sounds good to me and I'll very much try my best to do that same." He paused a moment or two before letting out a laughing. "Answering questions, I mean."

Angelica nodded giving a small smile and saying, "Of course," as they carried on their conversation through the rest of lunch.

"Well," Alexander began as lunch soon ended and he stood up, reaching out to shake her hand once again. "It was nice to meet you, Angelica. I look forward to getting back to you with this contract."

She smiled, nodding, "I look forward to it."

She watched as Alexander left, soon taking her phone out of her purse to send Peggy a quick text that she'll soon be home, only to see that she had a missed a call from her ex-husband. She hit ignore before putting her phone back into her purse. She could get back to John any time and he was the furthest thing from her mind at the moment.
