Courtney is sitting in the kitchen on a stool at an island in the middle of the kitchen, holding a jar of jellybeans. She is smiling as she looks over to Cecily, who is reading a book on the other side of the room that says 'The Foundations of Real Analysis'.
"You think you're some sort of math genius, don't you?" Courtney asks her, Cecily not looking up from her book as she speaks.
"Of course not, baby. I know that I'm a math genius." Cecily walks over to the kitchen and looks at the jar of jellybeans.
"Ha! Bet you can't guess how many jellybeans are in this jar!" Cecily looks at the jellybean jar carefully as she counts in her head.
"Five hundred and three." Courtney doesn't believe it.
"Yeah, right!"
Later on, when Courtney is alone, she takes every jellybean out of the jar, putting them in five stacks of one hundred, and the remaining three in her hand, making five hundred and three jelly beans. She doesn't want to accept the loss and begins to look down at the three jellybeans, her face in total shock.
