This is a result of post anime depression as many of you are here for more than likely. This is basically going to be until I feel I'm done writing or end the story. Disclaimer I'm by no means a good writer. This is MY story about what happens, but constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated.

Chapter 1 The Sea's Calling

This takes place 3 years after the hibernation awakening so from a chronological stance all the characters are 22-23 years old. This will mainly focus on the relationship between Tsumugu and Chisaki, but I will sprinkle the others when I feel it adds to the development of the relationship. With that being said enjoy

It had been 3 years since the last Ofunehiki and Monaka regained her memories and ability to love Hikari again, but also 3 years since Tsumugu and Chisaki admitted their love for one another. Shortly after the Ofunehiki, the two started dating along with the other love birds of the bunch. Chisaki returned to her nursing school and moved into the dorm and Tsumugu returned to the university to finish his thesis.

Now after 3 years Tsumugu's university approved the thesis of his study and funded the program. They opened a research station back in his old town of Oshiooshi and from being close to a sea village and he was stationed there. Chisaki finished her studies in nursing school and she applied to be a nurse at Oshiooshi's newly open hospital for sea and surface people.

Chisaki arrived home before Tsumugu and returned to Grandpa's home already. She waited day after day, after hearing that Tsumugu would return back home permanently. Her heart had missed him dearly and she hadn't realized how much it affected her. Grandpa noticed this and the look on her face and had a good laugh, which caught Chisaki's attention.

"W-what is it Grandpa?"

Grandpa still laughing "You sure do miss him huh?"

"W-what no no that's not it I swear it's just good to be uh home...yeah." She said her face turning red and becoming flustered.

A figure outlined the door. Grandpa began tearing up from how hard he was laughing and Chisaki curled up in a ball covering her face to hide her embarrassment. They didn't even notice the figure. Suddenly a dark haired man dressed in black entered the room confused by the situation that had unfolded in front of him.

He spoke up "hey guys." He said in his deep voice.

The two looked over at the source of the voice, as Chisaki caught a glimpse of who it was she became more flustered at the thought of Tsumugu and she almost died of embarrassment.

Tsumugu seeing Chisaki's red face asked "What's wrong?"

Chisaki dreading that this would happen "n..nnothing is wrong why would you think that?!"

Tsumugu, seeing her embarrassment, decided not to push the matter anymore. He simply put down his bags and walked towards Chisaki and embraced her. Chisaki stood in shock not expecting this sudden reaction from Tsumugu.

Tsumugu put his head on her shoulder and leaned in to whisper in her ear "I missed you...so very much."

"Tsu I." was all Chisaki could muster to respond to what he said.

Grandpa sat back and watched his family come together in front of him. Tsumugu let go of Chisaki and look at her in the eyes. Her aqua blue eyes of the sea, her dark purple hair covering her left eye, her beautiful light skin and simmer of her ena, and her face so very different from her face from 8 years ago in middle school when they first met. Tsumugu brushes the hair covering her eyes to see all her beauty. Chi slowly meets Tsumugu's eyes, her face still red from being flustered and embarrassed even though they've been dating for 3 years now. She finally met Tsumugu and they locked eyes and looked into each other's souls. Tsumugu saw her eyes deep and blue as the sea, calm at moments but could swell at a moment's notice taking everything with it. Chisaki looked into Tsumugu's eyes and saw the dark grey landscape without limit and infinite grand space of possibility of the universe. Chisaki regained her composure, leaned in, and kissed Tsumugu. Tsumugu leaned in and embraced her passion. Grandpa let them have their moment and then gave a cough to gain their attention.

"You both will have plenty of time for that but first Tsumugu you going to say hello to your grandpa?"

"Ah sorry hi Graps" Tsumugu said with a smile on his face.

"I'm proud of you son all grown up and successful… Seems only yesterday those kids from the sea came by and now one of them is part of this family"

Chisaki hearing that chuckled thinking of the fond memories of her friends and more importantly now all the time with Tsu when she was younger.

They all caught up with one another and had dinner sitting around the table like old times.

"Oh Tsu, I planned to meet with Monaka tomorrow in the afternoon would you like to come to say hi? Hikari will be busy with his training to become the head priest that day so will just be Monaka and me." Chisaki said with such excitement about seeing her best friend for the first time in almost a year, with everyone being busy with school and work.

"Sorry I can't,we need to finish setting up the research station before I can have any free time…I promise next time though" He said, hoping not to disappoint her.

"That's fine we'll just have some girl time then."

With that, they finished dinner, washed up for the night, and headed to bed. This was the first night in a long time that Chisaki and Tsumugu shared a room with another sleep next to each other, like a real couple. They both lay on their pillows staring into each other's eyes, thinking about how much they love each other, till eventually, they fell asleep wishing that their love and this moment would never end.
