Duncan is out of prison and looking for a place to stay. He first tries the homeless shelter. There is an older man wearing a tan shirt and brown overalls, with a matching tan and brown hat. He has grey hair and a grey beard.
"Sorry. Try the church." The man at the homeless shelter says this with no remorse.
Next, he goes to the church. A nun is smiling at him, and she has a gold chain around her neck
"Why don't you try the place in Manchester?" She asks.
He goes to a rehab center, where there's a man smiling at him wearing a black polo shirt, his hands clasped in front of him.
"Our program starts at ten thousand for a thirty day stay."
Defeated, Duncan goes somewhere that's a total last resort for him - his parents' house. He goes to the front door and his mother answers, and she is both sad and disappointed to see him. She has blonde hair, and is wearing a blue sweater over a white turtleneck shirt. She looks away at him with tears in her eyes.
"Oh my god…" She says. "What the hell are you doing here?"
Duncan looks defeated, as if he has nowhere else to turn. His face shows that he knows he has some nerve showing up to his parents' house after everything he's done in life to be put in juvie and prison before he turned 21, but he has nowhere else to go. His mother begins to pinch the bridge of her nose in frustration, closing her eyes, not able to look at him.
"Just… get out of here before your father sees you. Please."
