Chapter 3 The Truth
J'onn's eyes returned to normal 5 minutes later as he finished searching Ronald's mind with a sad expression on his face. This man had just been married to his wife mere hours before being tragically sent through the multiverse to this Earth. It was tragic really. J'onn though had confirmed that their hypothesis of where these men came from was correct. They were from another universe. So very different from theirs. Though how this man came to be called Firestorm was strange and he would bring up what he learned about the use of the Quantum Splicer with The Atom later.
But he had one last person's mind to read. Turning his head J'onn stood up and brought the chair and placed it right next to Oliver's bed. J'onn then placed his hands on Oliver's head before starting the process over again.
15 minutes later J'onn's eyes returned to normal before they drifted down to the unconscious form of Oliver. Empathy radiating off him. His mind drifted to when Shayera made a joke years ago about renaming themselves to be called the Just Us League, it seemed to also apply to this Oliver Queen as well.
Their world was not the only thing that was so very different, some of the people were as well. This Oliver had faced so many more struggles than their Oliver had. The most impactful of those being the last 8 years of his life. The emotional and physiological trauma that this man had faced rivaled his own and Bruce's. Oliver had survived a crucible and became a broken man but also a survivor. A man that because of the people around him remade and molded him into what he believed himself to always be. A monster. A murderer.
He could sympathize with him even with the many horrendous actions that Oliver had taken over the years. J'onn had similar thoughts before about the Imperium and the Invaders when they first attacked his world. He had taken great enjoyment in watching the Imperium boil in the sun. He had only wished he could have watched it boil to death. Thankfully, it did not escape and died. Unfortunately, not by his hands.
This Oliver had also lost almost everyone he had ever cared about and before being dropped into their Earth had found he had a child. Not to mention this Oliver Queen was also dying from a KGB serum called the Red Death. J'onn also found that on this Oliver's Earth they did not have the technology to produce a cure. They didn't seem as technologically advanced as this Earth.
J'onn walked over to the computer and input some data to see what information they had on the serum. He recalled it had been used by the now-deceased KGBeast on more than one occasion and he was one of Bruce's many rogues, so there was a chance Bruce had a cure of some sort created. After a minute of searching, he was successful in finding a cure that Bruce had used on himself which he had previously made to counteract the serum. Filing the information away for later, J'onn stepped away from the computer before he phased back toward the Founder's room.
He was not surprised to find the other six members all with somber faces as they awaited his return. Their attention all turned toward him as he sat back down.
"The two are from another universe. They also mean no threat. It seems that the cause of their arrival here was not of their own doing." J'onn said after sitting. He could see Clark and Wally relax from the information. More than likely he mused that they had not wanted to do anything to someone that looked exactly like their fallen friend. The other four though kept their stoic expressions.
"So, were you able to find the cause of the wormhole in either of their memories?" Bruce asked and J'onn nodded.
"The cause of the wormhole was the formation of a singularity in their world. That could have destroyed their world and had they not been able to stop it. The singularity attempted to be stopped by that world's Flash who was unsuccessful. Had Ronnie Raymond not sacrificed himself, then singularity it would have destroyed their world." J'onn answered.
"Their world's Justice League didn't try and stop it?" John asked the obvious question that the other were thinking. J'onn shook his head.
"No because their world is...different than ours. They do not know of aliens or the Green Lantern Corp. from the memories that I went over. Their world has no Justice League." J'onn answered which elicited surprise from the founders. They had never known a world to not have a Justice League.
"So, their version of Wally couldn't stop this singularity." Shayera asked which again J'onn shook his head which confused Diana, John, Wally, and Shayera.
"No, their version of the Flash couldn't. In their world the Flash is not Wally West, he is called Barry Allen." J'onn answered which caused Wally to do a double-take when he heard that information.
"Barry Allen? Who is that?" Diana asked and J'onn opened his mouth to answer but was cut off.
"Barry Allen on our Earth is Wally's uncle and was also the First Flash." Bruce answered which got almost everyone to glance at Bruce before turning their attention to Wally who was staring at Bruce with surprise.
"Why is this the first time we are hearing about another Flash? Wally?" John asked seeing how this had been the first time he had ever even heard this. Wally broke out of his surprise as he rubbed his head nervously.
"Wally took up the mantle of the Flash a few months after Superman raced Barry as the Flash. While not much is known publicly. What is known is that there was a fight with Flash's arch-enemy the Reverse Flash and the Flash disappeared for a week and a half before reappearing seemingly unchanged. At this time was when Wally became the Flash and was when the former Flash was crippled." Bruce answered once again and brought up a picture of the currently 40-year-old Barry Allen in a wheelchair with Wally on his right and to his left was a red haired woman that could be related to Wally.
"Hey Bats, how the hell did you find out all this stuff and where did you get that picture?" Wally asked a little irritated. The rest of the members also had the same question looked at Bruce.
"When I first started as Batman I mostly dealt with muggers, gang leaders, psychopaths, mobsters and strangest person I fought regularly against was a man who had been born with epidermolytic hyperkeratosis that caused him to inherit traits of a crocodile. But then I met a man who I would later learn was over 700 years old. So, I started tracking the impossible and that led me to keep tabs on these people. Such as in 1998 when a green light was said to have appeared in Detroit and launched into the sky. Which I would later find out was when John got his green lantern ring and left for training." As he gestured toward John. "Or in 2006 when a woman with wings like an angel appeared on Earth." Gesturing toward Shayera. "Also, in 2006 when a man caught a plane out of the sky." As he gestured toward Clark. "Finally, your uncle in 2004 when sightings of a red blur of a man saving people like a guardian angel began popping up. Your uncle would later show himself announcing that he was called the Flash after saving the people inside a runaway train." Wally nodded slowly accepting what Bruce just told him. Though he was still confused and irritated about the picture.
"Hey, that still doesn't answer where you got that picture." Wally said.
"It wasn't that difficult Wally. I took it off your Facebook page. It's not like you are very secretive about it." Bruce coolly answered which had Wally slightly flustered from embarrassment. John though glanced at Clark and saw no surprise on his face.
"Clark, did you know?" John asked which had the others turn toward Clark.
"Well, you see I kind of peaked under the cowl when I first met the Flash, and then when we met up again during the invasion the person under the cowl was different." Clark said before turning to Wally. "I never did find out what happened to Barry. Would you mind me asking what happened?" The question seems to depress Wally as he sunk slightly into his chair before he nodded his head.
"Sure, as Bats said my uncle was fighting the Reverse Flash in their biggest and fastest battle to date and well...he lost. I had gotten my speed just like my Uncle. He had been training me to be his partner after I found out. I had even come up with a code name and made a suit for myself. But when I came ready to help, Reverse-Flash was standing over a beaten Flash and stuck his hand straight into his back and crushed his spine in half. He has not been able to walk or use the speed force since. After a week and a half, I took up the mantle and became The Flash when my uncle made no progress in healing." Wally said with a grim expression on his face which was quite unusual for Wally. Shayera put her hand on his shoulder and gave him a reassuring squeeze.
"From what you said they do not have any Justice League, so what other differences could you find about the world? And how about Ronnie and Oliver? What did you find out about them?" John asked trying to change the subject. J'onn frowned slightly.
"As I said before their world is different, the first hero of that world that I could find was, the Arrow. Then the Flash. Their age of heroes seemed to have only started. There is no Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Superman, Wonder Woman or Martian Manhunter." J'onn answered with a slight frown before glancing to Bruce. "But from their memories, I was able to learn that in Gotham there are rumors of a Man. A Batman, that has been operating for years. But from the memories, most believe it to be a myth of the city; a legend." Clark sent Bruce a look who himself did not react to the news. "Ronnie Raymond, in their world, is a hero that goes by the name of Firestorm. He is a hero with abilities such as pyrokinesis, nucleokinesis, and flight." J'onn finished before Wally seemed to sit back up seemingly back to normal.
"So, he's a fire meta?" Wally asked and J'onn nodded.
"Yes, but his power is more unique than a simple pyrokinetic. For him to use his power he needs to merge with his counterpart who is not here, and if I were to guess is still on their Earth or dead. The specific details I plan on going over with Dr. Palmer later. Oliver though…" J'onn answered before taking a pause and a breathe before continuing. "Oliver though is extremely different than the one we knew. Unlike our Oliver who spent a year on a deserted island by himself, this one spent five years in what he considered hell. Throughout his life, he experienced great loss and trauma. Such as the loss of his parents, his best friend, and the love of his life... Dinah Laurel Lance." J'onn stopped to gauge their reactions which were as he would expect, sorrow and sadness.
"While he eventually became a hero, he was first a vigilante and did things in his line of work that he regrets doing. Though he had begun trying to redeem himself. In his world, he was called the Arrow, not Green Arrow. He also seems to be dying of a disease." J'onn said which seemed to catch the breathe of a few of the founders. "Thankfully though we have a cure for the disease. The technology of their world does not seem as advanced as ours, I would have to hypothesize that their lack of access to alien technology has stalled their advancement." There were a few sighs of relief throughout the room.
"Though the most interesting of the memories that I saw was that your doppelgänger on their Earth is fairly acquainted with Oliver; he was his bodyguard, John. They were very good friends as well." J'onn said with a small smile on his face and John had a surprise written all over his face. "It seems that in their world you are called John Diggle, not John Stewart. Your counterpart is also married, and Oliver was your best man to your wedding to a woman named Lyla Michaels." When Shayera heard that she playfully eyed her husband.
"John is there something you need to tell me?" Shayera teasingly asked which caused John to roll his eyes.
"Oh, sure because I am suicidal enough to try and cheat on you crazy woman." John answered sarcastically which had Wally snickering to himself while the exchange was going on. Bruce on the other hand ignored the conversation and wanted to get the question they were all waiting for.
"J'onn in your honest opinion, can these two be trusted? Should we help them?" Bruce asked the question that they were all waiting for. J'onn seemed to stare off into space for a moment before nodding.
"Yes, I do." J'onn answered.
2 hours later Wooden Cabin Outside Star City
Dinah woke up with a groan as she held her head in pain from her massive hangover. She had drunk way too much alcohol last night, once again. It was not a surprise. Yesterday had been the 2nd anniversary of the death of her beloved archer. She could still vividly remember how he died. How she held him as he passed. The drinking helped numb the pain and the memories. She looked at the clock and saw it read 5:13 pm.
Dinah groaned again. She had wanted to get over her hangover before she had to go on patrol in 3 hours from now, but it seemed like she had slept away the day. Thankfully, the League had let her have the rest of the week off for the past 2 years. So, she did not have any extra work other than patrolling to worry about.
Finally getting out of bed she quickly stretched and worked the kinks out of her body before taking a quick shower to attempt to get the smell of alcohol off. After the shower, she began making Ted's 'world-famous hangover remedy'. While she doubted it was world-famous it worked wonders. As she finished making it there was a knock on her front door.
Dinah raised an eyebrow. Not many people ever came out this far. She walked to the door and checked through the peephole to see who it was. Surprise sprung across her face as she opened the door to see J'onn standing in front of her door.
"J'onn what are you doing here?" Dinah asked.
"May I come inside Dinah?" J'onn answered her with a question which had her staring at his unmoving form before moving to the side and allowing him to walk in.
J'onn took in the cabin as he walked in. It was cozy. Never meant for more than 5 or 6 people living in it at once. Updated as well. Turning his attention back to Dinah he watched her walk into her kitchen and grab a drink of the sort that she seemed to have been made before he arrived.
J'onn had grown accustomed to Earthling customs though and could recognize the signs of a hangover and easily guessed it was a hangover remedy. He watched her as she gestured to her living room as he followed before sitting across from her.
"I'll ask again. Why are you here J'onn?" Dinah asked again.
"Dinah are you aware of what occurred over Central City today?" J'onn answered.
"No, I was asleep." Dinah responded while sipping her drink. J'onn nodded.
"A wormhole appeared in Central. We were able to learn that it originated from another universe. That through a reaction it was sent across the multiverse here. It though didn't suck anything into it but deposited everything it took in from the other universe into ours." J'onn said and Dinah frowned after the explanation.
"This doesn't make me understand why you came to me. I don't know anything about wormhole theory. Ray or Holt were people you would want to go to for this stuff." Dinah said.
"It wasn't only objects that came through. Two men came through the wormhole as well." J'onn replied which caused Dinah to raise an eyebrow as she sipped her drink. She was but was still confused why J'onn personally came to her. "One of them was a meta by the name of Ronnie Raymond. The other is...Oliver Queen." Dinah seemed to slowly process what she was told as her drink slipped out of her hands and was about to shatter on the ground if J'onn had not caught it and set it on the coffee table with telekinesis.
J'onn saw Dinah start to shake lightly as tears began trailing down her cheeks. Oliver Queen from some other universe was here. She then looked at J'onn with a glare and tears still in her eyes.
"Why did you tell me this?" Dinah asked quietly.
"Most of the League will more than likely learn about it in the coming days, I thought you deserved to know first." J'onn replied which caused Dinah to lessen her glare. "Would you like to see him?" She seemed to keep eye contact with him before she looked away and shook her head.
"No, I don't, he isn't Oliver…he isn't my Oliver it wouldn't be the same." Dinah said quietly. J'onn nodded his head in understanding
"You are right he isn't the same Oliver. He suffered a lot more than the Oliver we knew. Unlike our Oliver this one was marooned on an Island with people, most of them not good. He was forced to learn to survive and that broke him. He lost almost everyone he cared for. The people around him who picked up the pieces remade him to what he was for a long time. This Oliver was remade into a killer, a vigilante." J'onn said which had Dinah ducking her head. How someone like Oliver could kill was beyond her. Oliver Queen was a good man, she knew it in her heart.
"But he changed. He became a hero. Do you know why he did become one? Why he changed?" He became a hero, a better person because of you. More specifically his Earth's Dinah or as she went by Laurel." John said and paused to see her reaction but saw she was as stoic as ever. "Just like you held Oliver as he died, he held Laurel as she died. And because of her death, he changed, tried to redeem himself and become the man that his Laurel thought he could be, a good man who wished to help those who suffered. And he did. He changed. It's sad that you both lost each other's significant other in the same week." After finally learning that information the stoic expression she had held broke as she choked on a sob.
"Why are you telling me all of this? He might look like my Ollie, but he is not. We have never met! I can't try and replace my Ollie with another!" Dinah said nearly yelling at J'onn.
"It is true you two have never met. But this is an opportunity that not many in life get. A second chance for both of you. I cannot promise you happiness, love or even friendship but he does not need to replace the Oliver we knew. What he could do is fill the hole that was made. The one truth I can promise you is that he is here until we figure out how to send them home." J'onn said before he stood up and walked toward the door and opened it.
"Dinah if I were in your shoes and I had met another version of my My'ria'h or my children I would accept them with open arms without a second thought. Second chances like these are best not wasted because to most people they never come, no one is supposed to get a second chance with their loved one. He is currently in the Med Bay for a while, he will then be moved to the Queen's estate until further notice." J'onn said before he left and closed the door leaving Dinah to think by herself.
Med Bay
4 hours later
Oliver started to stir as he groaned and began blinking his eyes but flinched at the brightness of the light that was shining down onto him. Oliver sat up and looked around at his surroundings. What he found was he was in some type of hospital, a highly advanced one from the looks of it. He was about to try and move only to hear groaning to his right.
Oliver craned his head to his right to see another bed with someone else in it. He looked familiar but he could not place the face now, his memory was fuzzy. The man next to him groaned.
"Fuck that hurt." The man said in pain. He also finally seemed to register his surroundings and looked around before he locked eyes with Oliver and they both seemed to recognize the other.
"Ronnie?" Oliver questioned.
"Oliver?" Ronnie questioned before continuing. "What are you doing back in Central…" only for Ronnie's memories of what just had happened to return. His eyes went wide before he tried to jump out of his bed only to fall over in pain as soon as he tried to stand.
No later had Ronnie jumped out of the bed did an older man walk in. Oliver had to guess the man was a doctor because of the man attire and the doctor hurried over to help Ronnie back into his bed when he saw that Ronnie had tried to get out of it.
As the doctor was helping Ronnie to bed Oliver's memory finally came back to him. He remembered what had happened in Central as memories of the wormhole returned. But also, he remembered what he had found as memories of a blonde haired little girl came to mind.
"Mia." Oliver sadly whispered to himself while the doctor had finally got Ronnie back into bed.
"Mr. Queen, Mr. Raymond, my name is Doctor Thorne. You are both very lucky to be alive because the damage you both had suffered could have left you both dead." The doctor said while checking them over but halfway through the examination stopped and seemed to be contemplating saying something. But before the doctor could continue another man walked in that caught the attention of both the patients. He wore a mostly blue suit, with some red and yellow. The suit the man was wearing had a big S symbol in the center. The strangest thing though that both men saw was he was wearing a red cape. Both Ronnie and Oliver never let their eyes leave the form of the man. The way he carried himself spoke of confidence and power. What only Oliver noticed was the pained look that he briefly sent Oliver's way.
"Doctor Thorne since the patients are awake Is it ok if I have a talk with them?" The man asked the doctor who glanced at Oliver and Ronnie for a moment before turning back to the man and nodding.
"Yes, they should be able to be asked questions Superman. If that's it I will take my leave." The doctor left the room quietly. The now named 'Superman turned his attention to both Oliver and Ronnie and was about to speak before being beat to it.
"I am all thankful for patching me up and all, but I have places to go, I have a honeymoon to go on." Ronnie said which caught Oliver by surprise. He had heard from Barry that Ronnie and Caitlin had gotten back together after his 'resurrection'. Oliver turned to Ronnie and said,
"Congratulations." Oliver said to Ronnie
"Thanks." Ronnie replied and sent Oliver back a slight smirk. They both turned their gazes back to the named 'Superman' who they saw sigh.
"Unfortunately, Mr. Raymond, that won't be possible." Clark said and was going to continue but the man had already irritated Ronnie who interrupted him.
"Why the hell not? Just give me a phone and I can call my wife to come and get me." Ronnie snarled which had man in front of them shake his head.
"You didn't let me finish explaining. You can't call your wife because you are not on your Earth." Clark said which caused both Ronnie and Oliver to glance at each other in confusion.
"Our Earth, what are you talking about?" Oliver asked with his voice laced with confusion.
"Have either of you ever heard of the multiverse theory?" Clark asked which had Oliver trying to recall if he had heard of it. Ronnie on the other hand just huffed and began to lightly laugh.
"Look, if you are about to tell us we are in a parallel universe then you can go and put your tinfoil hat back on because we aren't buying what you're selling." Ronnie said and continued to laugh until he glanced at the man saw the solemn look on Clark's face.
"Come on that's just a theory. For us to have been sent to parallel Earth, in theory, would require some type of portal, a vortex or…" Ronnie said but before he could finish he was cut off.
"Or a wormhole." Clark said finishing Ronnie's thought which had Ronnie nodding before his face dropped and seemingly remembered what he had tried to collapse and blacked out doing. During the whole exchange Oliver was silent processing the information.
"So, if what you are saying is true, then how can you prove it?" Oliver asked.
"I can prove it by telling you what I know about you, respectively. You Mr. Raymond…" Clark said before pointing to Ronnie, "...on your Earth are half of a hero called Firestorm. While you Mr. Queen went by the name of The Arrow." There was silence in the room when Clark finished.
"How could you possibly know that?" Oliver asked in shock breaking the silence.
"On my Earth, this Earth there are metahumans with unique abilities like your friend Ronnie. But on this Earth, there are also aliens with unique abilities as well. One of these aliens, a Martian and a good friend of mine is a telepath and can read minds. He read both of your minds before you woke up." Clark answered and Ronnie waited a few moments before he started busting a gut for half a minute before he slowly stopped.
"Sure, aliens exist. Now I know you're just bullshitting us. Come on then bring us proof little green men exist. I'll wait." Ronnie said condescendingly which elicited a small smirk to appear on Clark's face as he raised his hand to his ear. Oliver could hear the almost silent click of a communication device being activated as Superman said,
"J'onn can you join me in the med bay?" Clark asked and waited a second for a response. "Thank you J'onn" He then removed his hand from his ear he looked back at Ronnie and sent him a small smirk. "Just warning you Martians aren't exactly little." Ronnie raised an eyebrow at the statement while Oliver stayed silent wanting to see if what this man said was true. Oliver didn't have to wait that long when less than a minute later the door opened, and a green man walked in. A huge one of which Oliver had to guess at least 6 and a half feet tall. Both Ronnie and Oliver could only stare speechless.
"Don't worry J'onn won't do anything to you. If you feel any better I am also an alien." Clark said which had the two snapped their heads back to the Clark as he began levitating off the ground before he landed back down. Oliver and Ronnie could only stare blankly stared at the two in front of them before the two finally spoke silently to themselves.
"If Cisco was here he would die of a nerd attack and die happily." Ronnie mumbled to himself.
"Of course, this happens, just par for the course of my life." Oliver whispered to himself.
Clark cleared his throat to get their attention which broke the two out of their shock as they refocused back on the two aliens.
"Okay, maybe we are in another universe in front of ACTUAL ALIENS, but the question is when can you get us back to where we belong?" Ronnie asked but before Clark could answer, the Martian J'onn stepped forward.
"As Superman was telling you before we can't send you back because we do not know-how. The energies and the extra-dimensional particles that we picked up from where the wormhole was is beyond anything we have seen in our duty. That is saying something considering we have access to the most advanced technology on the planet and others. But even if we did have the technology it would take to send you back that would only be half the problem. The other being where to send you, seeing as the multiverse is infinite and one false miscalculation could send you another universe." J'onn solemnly answered which caused Ronnie to grow distraught as his face began to fall.
"So, you don't even know how to send us home?" Ronnie asked and the Martian nodded which caused Ronnie to sigh as he ran a hand through his hair.
"Cait is going to be very angry about this." Ronnie mumbled to himself.
"We have our smartest men and women trying to find a way to return you home. But now you will have to adjust." Clark said trying to reassure both Oliver and Ronnie.
"How? We don't have any money here." Oliver asked wondering how this man expected them to wait if they both had nothing. Clark seemed to be silent a second before glancing at the Martian who sent a slight nod back which caused Superman to look back at the two.
"On this Earth, some events have gone differently than on your Earth. Two obvious reasons standing in front of you but for the two of you specifically. You, Mr. Raymond, died with your parents in a car accident, but you Mr. Queen, you died two years ago fighting aliens as a hero. On our Earth, you were called the Green Arrow, not the Arrow." Clark said as both Ronnie and Oliver stayed silent listening carefully about their respective doppelgänger's lives. "We have already been in contact with people we had believed could house the both of you until we figure a way to return you to your Earth. After we talked with them they have agreed to house you for the time being." He sent Oliver a glance as he finished. "Those people who agreed are the Queens of this Earth." Oliver's stoic look transformed into that of complete shock of the news. Clark went silent and J'onn took that as his que to take over.
"On this Earth, the Queen family did not die. Both your mother and father are both alive. This world's Oliver Queen did not lose anything that you had lost. The only difference to your family is that you were an only child." J'onn explained. Oliver took a few moment to recompose himself and get over his shock as he looked to the Martian.
"It would have been best if you hadn't told them about me. You should try and convince them to not invest time into getting to know an alternate version of their son they lost." Oliver stated grimly which caused Ronnie eyes to widen by the answer. He would have loved to spend time with any version of his parents. He had not seen his parents since they had been in a car accident when he was 12. While Ronnie was wondering to himself why Oliver wouldn't take the opportunity both J'onn and Superman were not at all surprised.
"Why wouldn't you want to get to see your parents. I would be thrilled to see my parents if I could again." Ronnie asked which caused Oliver to grimace before glanced at Ronnie
"I don't have that much time left because I am dying. I have 5 months, a year if I am extremely lucky. That was the reason why I went to Central so I could say goodbye to Barry and then head off to die peacefully away from everyone I cared about." Ronnie grimaced at that and was about to ask something when he was interrupted.
"No Mr. Queen, you were dying. You aren't anymore." J'onn said and Oliver's head spun to meet J'onn's gaze with widened eyes awaiting more of an explanation. "I was able to find the name of the serum that affected you while going through your memories. The KGB Red Death. While on your Earth there is no cure there is a cure on this one and it has already been administered to you. It will take a couple of months for the cure to fully take into effect but after you will be serum-free. Free to live life again."
Oliver was shocked. He had been one hundred percent sure that he was going to die. He had finally accepted it. But now after coming to a new Earth in no time at all he was already given a cure to the serum. He was at a loss for words. Getting over his shock quickly he glanced at both the men in front of him and began to analyze them. Oliver learned in life that most people did not just help others like this. But then he remembered what they said about his alternate self. Oliver then asked,
"You knew him, didn't you? This world's Oliver Queen. That's why you're helping us." Oliver asked and watched as the two men exchanged looks of mild surprise.
"How did you know?" Clark asked.
"When you came in here Superman you had the same expression that my family had when I returned from the island. Like you were looking at someone that you lost, and thought was dead." Oliver answered while Ronnie continued staying silent as the conversation progressed. Superman nodded,
"Yes, Oliver was a good friend to many of us. He was a devastating loss to accept and his death affected many of us in the League." Clark answered which had Ronnie raise an eyebrow at the word League while Oliver on the other hand narrowed having just finished dealing with a League hoping it was not the same one.
"League. What League?" Ronnie asked which had Clark taken aback for a second before looking slightly embarrassed.
"Oh, right sorry, I forgot your Earth doesn't have one. Usually, I do not have to explain it. A Justice League, a group of heroes that protect the world." Clark answered which had Oliver sigh in relief not having to deal with another League of Assassins while Ronnie snorted at the name.
"That's corny you know that, but I guess it is better than being called Super Friends." Ronnie said and Clark looked at Ronnie with a smirk at the quip. Oliver watched the exchange before he took his eyes off Clark and looked to J'onn who Oliver realized hadn't taken his eyes off him as soon as he entered the room.
"Not many people get second chances with those they have lost Mr. Queen. This world's Queens would like to try, and I would recommend you think about it." J'onn said when he saw he had Oliver's attention before turning around abruptly and leaving. Clark sighed at the bluntness that J'onn had delivered his final words. But he should not be surprised since J'onn had almost given everything for a second chance with his family. Almost. Superman than glanced between the two and said,
"Doctor Thorne is going to come in here and check you guys over. Please think about the offer. As J'onn said Oliver not many people get second chances." Clark said as he looked between the two before he also took his leave. When Clark had left there was silence between the two patients as they finally were left with their own thought of what happened to them. before Ronnie broke the silence and asked,
"Oliver we are trapped in a different universe on a different Earth away from everyone we care about where they more than likely think we are dead. What are we going to do?" Ronnie asked
"I don't know." Oliver quietly answered. He had no response. He now was now not dying on an Earth where both his parents lived. He wondered who else lived Tommy, Sara, maybe...Laurel? But he shook those thoughts away as he heard the door open someone enter the room.
Oliver looked up to see the doctor walk in, but also lost his breath when he saw who was behind the doctor.
Laurel.
It was Laurel except she looked different. Her hair was blonde like it used to be when they were kids. She was wearing a blue jacket, a black one-piece leotard, grayed-out stockings, calf-length combat boots, black fingerless gloves that from his view at least went past her elbow, and a black choker.
God. Laurel from this world was alive! When their eyes met he could see tears already running down her face. He felt a tear fall trail down the left side of his face. He had not seen her face in close to 2 years. She looked so alive compared to the last time he had looked upon that face. Even if it was another dimension version of the Laurel he knew, she was as beautiful as he remembered her.
As he began to stand up to go and talk with her, pain enveloped his whole body and stopped him. The doctor rushed to Oliver and helped to steady him, and Oliver readjusted himself and looked back out the doors only for Laurel to be gone.
His face fell when he saw she was gone before his face hardened once again as the doctor started to check on his injury. Oliver while being checked on was contemplating his new situation.
What was he going to do?
Author's Note 1: Good guesses. Yes it is the DCAU and there are some DCAU material that I am retconning and not using and/or changing that may not or ever be referenced other than here. There will be other changes which will be referenced or talked about later in the story which will later be revealed.
1. Kara is Clark's actual cousin and not Kara-InZe but Kara Zor-El, her family was on Argos the planet because it had been colonized by Kryptonians and it was where Kara and her family had moved and lived.
2. The Aquaman episode in Superman Animated Series had his Justice League Animated Series appearance not the one used in the episode.
3. Earth 92 Green Arrow did not have a partner, so there was no Speedy in this universe (Roy Harper, Speedy).
4. The episode Patriot Act from JLU happens a little differently since there is no going to be no Speedy (Roy Harper) in this Universe. So, when he calls for backup he gets Crimson Avenger and The Question for back up.
3. No Mystery of Batwoman movie, did not like the movie and kind of a boring one. And is going to contradict some of the information I am adding.
4. The Return of the Joker movie did not/ will not happen. I really enjoyed this movie but for my story it will not occur or happen at all because of the changes that occurred. Not to mention Tim Drake at the time of the movie was supposed to be 18 or 19 not still 13 so he should not have been easily jumped by Harley.
5. Crisis on Two Earths was supposed to happen as a movie in DCAU and be called Worlds Collide. It was supposed to bridge the gap between the two Justice League shows but it was later scrapped and not made, but then made into its own movie. Though the creator said that while not made it still happened which is why Diana has an invisible plane while the new watchtowers are being built. So the movie would go relatively the same except that at the time Lex isn't in jail, the Flash is Wally not Barry and the Green Lantern is John and not Hal, also when Batman calls for heroes he calls Black Canary, Red Tornado, Aquaman, Supergirl and Steel to back him up. No J'onn and Rose Wilson scenes.
6. Justice League vs Fatal Five will not be a part of this universe either. As well as Batman and Harley Quinn movie will not be a part both seemed to not even be a part of the universe only use the animated assets. Some of the stuff they talked about in the movies did not make sense. Or how Harley acted since in a year or 2 after Harley Quinn movie Harley was supposed to help Joker torture the hell out of Tim, makes no sense.
7. There will not have been a romance between Barbara and Bruce. Gross I do not even know why they made that a thing was probably one of the worst parts of the DCAU added from the comics. Hated the concept.
8. The Green Arrow's suit is not what it is in The Justice League Animated Show. The suit he wore though looked like that of the Young Justice Season 3 suit of the Green Arrow. Which is like Oliver's Green Arrow suit from Season 4 of Arrow.
9. Mr. Freeze after the Subzero stayed away from Gotham and didn't lose his limbs like in the show and didn't show up during the adventures of Batman show. So he didn't come back and become a villain again to Batman.

Author's Note 2: I was asked who my picks for the justice league members real life counterparts are in the reviews. So, from now on I will when introducing new characters in my story I will put who I see them as at the bottom of the chapter in the Notes section. And for the characters I have introduced I will be listing them now and I may include my reasoning. It was hard to make some of these decisions. For some I want the voice actors to play them, but they are either too old or do not look like the character. Example: Kevin Conroy for Batman. I would have loved Kevin Conroy to play Batman. He got his shot in the Arrowverse for the crossover and the writers so screwed him in how they had him portray Bruce/Batman and it was not cool. What my fan dream is that in 10 to 20 years they make a Batman Beyond show and cast Kevin as an old Batman. Totally the dream. Anyway, getting off my rant here are my picks.
Notes:
Superman/Clark Kent: Henry Cavill. While I heard some people did not like his portrayal of Clark/Superman, I liked it. I also find him to be a suitable look alike for him as well. His suit is the same as in the Justice League live action movie because the colors are brighter than the other live action ones from the movies that Henry Cavill wore. It is also the only suit he wore which I found to be the best Superman suit.
Wonder Woman/ Diana: Gal Gadot. Not really that hard of a choice. She played an amazing Wonder Woman in her movie and has been hard carrying the DCEU, though at this point that is nonexistent, unfortunately. Same that Gal Gadot wore in the movies. She will rarely use a sword and shield though. Her main weapon of offense are her fists.
Batman/Bruce Wayne: Ben Affleck. Do not roast me. I know his Batman in the movies was bad, he killed. It instantly becomes a bad Batman interpretation. I agree, but the man when he was first announced just hit me as an Older more experienced Bruce Wayne/ Batman which this world has. Bruce is 43 in this world and Affleck just seemed to fit for me, I would have wished that he could have gotten his own movie before BVS DOJ but unfortunately it did not happen. His suit he is currently wearing looks very similar to the Bat suit v7.43 from Arkham Series of games.
Hawkgirl/Shayera Stewart (Hol): Alexandra Breckenridge. This one was hard and took me a while to find someone that I thought could play Shayera. She has never played on the big screen before. I would say that she now wears Thanagarian armor, like that of Hawk woman from Young Justice tv show instead of the gym clothing she seems to wear during the animated show.
Green Lantern/ John Stewart: David Ramsey. Obviously. Suit is that of a standard green lantern no explanation needed.
Power Girl/ Kara Zor-El: Melissa Benoist. Same as in Supergirl but is called Power Girl which will be explained later. Also, an older version of herself. This takes place a couple months before the Supergirl show even starts and Kara in that universe is 24 years old while Kara of this Earth is 33. As I said, this will be explained later. Her suit though is the same from the comics of Earth 2 Power girl. Which instead of cleavage in view has the House of El symbol covering it. She also has a long red cape like Superman and Supergirl suits instead of the red sash.
J'onn J'onzz/ Martian Manhunter: Carl Lumbly, same voice actor as the animated series. Will only be a voice mostly since most of the time he is seen in his Martian humanoid form. Though I will say J'onn's suit is like that of the DCAU except he has pants instead of shorts.
Wally West/ The Flash: Cameron Monaghan. This version is not the one we got in the cw. He will be like he was in the comics. The nephew of Iris not the brother. It was hard as well. Trying to find a red headed actor who I think could play Wally West. But I then decided on Cameron Monaghan. The suit he wears is almost identical to the fifth one that Barry wears in the CW which is the best suit they have made for him.
M'gann M'orzz/ Miss Martian: Daniela Bobadilla. Honestly, it was a hard decision between Daniela Bobadilla or and Shailene Woodley. But I decided on Daniela Bobadilla. I liked her performance in the Justice League vs Fatal Five Movie as Miss Martian, so the deciding factor was just stay with her. Her suit is also the same as the one used in that animated movie as well.
Captain Atom: John Cena. Cena can portray that military demeanor without losing his sense of humor. Captain Atom looks like John Cena except his form is the containment suit.
Rocket Red: Simon Pegg. Though this character will not be a recurring one I thought I might as well give the man a face under the suit. Suit is the same from the animated show.
Mr. Terrific/Michael Holt: William Jackson Harper. In Arrow they changed his actual name to Curtis from Michael. So, like how there are different Supermen around the Multiverse, this earth has a different looking Mr. Terrific. Suit is the same from the animated show.
Ray Palmer/The Atom: Nathan Fillion. I believe he could play a funny, sarcastic, and intelligent Ray just like how Brandon Routh did in the Arrow verse version just with his own twist. His suit is like his from comics and looks almost the same as the Atom from Injustice 2. Not like in the Arrow verse in how his suit is an Iron man knock off suit.
Iris West-Allen: Kate Mara. Hard to find someone who could work since in this world she is a red head like in the comics, and Wally is not her brother like in the cw but her nephew.
Doctor Matthew Thorne: Treat Williams. This character is not an original character. He is a character that was used in an episode of Batman the Animated Series and was a friend of Thomas Wayne who lost his medical license when he saved his brother who was a gangster from dying. I had planned on just using Leslie Thompkins as the doctor on board the Watchtower but then realized that she has always disapproved Bruce being Batman so she would not agree. At the end of the episode that had Thorne it seems like Bruce would try and help him out.
Black Canary/Dinah Laurel Lance: Katie Cassidy is the actress, same as Arrow. Obviously. Her hair was blonde like it was in Season 4 of Arrow, but it is naturally that way not dyed. Her suit is the same as Young Justice Season one of Black Canary which is how I described it when Oliver was looking at her at the end of this chapter.
