Alejandro is cradled inside of the robot suit. He has multiple parts of his body where skin has scraped off, and he has a coil strapped around him that has a circle attached and glowing red stuck on his right bicep. His arms are also strapped into the robot arms. He begins to tell the story of being placed in the robot suit.
"Some days I prayed to be rescued. Other days I prayed to die. The machine kept me alive, but I was trapped and stagnant. I was without the agency even to end my torturous life."
In the robot suit, he begins walking to a door leading into a bright light. There is oil dripping down on his back, and there's a web stuck on the right arm.
"It was not unlike being in a coma, comatose and immobile and yet fully aware and desperate for contact. But unlike a patient in a coma, I was without the comforts of pain medication, or even simple distraction."
There's a glimpse of Alejandro's face inside of the robot. He's lost his hair, has more ripped skin on his cheeks, and he has tears rolling down his eyes as he looks up.
"Worse than the pain was the fear, and far worse than the fear was the isolation. The complete lack of stimulation. I was sure at some points I had died and gone to hell. I hallucinated constantly. I think I needed to stay sane. Many times, I would hallucinate that someone had come to my rescue."
Alejandro in the robot suit goes towards the white light. There's a clear photo of the robot's face. The robot is frowning and has two different eye colors, the left eye being orange and the right eye being blue. In the robot suit he looks at three people he is currently hallucinating - his brother Jose, Heather in her outfit from Total Drama with her current hairstyle, and Duncan. All three, in separate panels, are reaching out to him and are afraid.
"Alejandro! Can you hear me?" They scream.
"-Or that I was somewhere else entirely." Alejandro is overlooking a sunset with Heather. Her silhouette has her long hair from Total Drama Island and she is turned away from him and sitting next to her. He is looking directly at the sunset over some mountains.
We come back to Alejandro and Heather in present-day. They're laying down together on his bed. Heather is cradling Alejandro by his neck and Alejandro is holding her around her waist.
"And you've started to hallucinate again recently?" Heather asks.
"Well…" he begins. "I don't know if it's true to say that it ever stopped. It gets a lot worse when I'm alone, though. When someone is here with me, I can rely on them to tell me what is real and what isn't. This is difficult to admit out loud, but… I approach everything I see as if it might be a hallucination. Even right now, I'm not completely sure that you are really here." Heather brings herself closer to Alejandro.
"That sounds absolutely terrifying. I'm so sorry. Why didn't you tell me that you were struggling so much with me being gone?" She asks.
"Because, I knew that if I did, you would immediately move back in." He recalls.
"Well, you were right."
"But-! Mi Amor, what about your schooling?" He's taken aback by this news.
"It'll just be a longer commute! No big deal."
"I know that you've been having a nice time staying with Gwen…" He says. Heather begins to get up and scowls at him.
"Hey! There is nothing in my life that's more important to me than you are. Got it? Nothing." She crosses her arms. "Your safety and happiness comes first. I'm moving back in. Immediately."
