Chapter 4 A Stage?

Weeks have passed and The Ex-Demon King would occasionally visits Ente Isla. Taking the interest to spy and observe Emi, and also taking the attention of Emi's co-workers.

"He's here again" A waiter whispered at her co-worker.

"Hey Yusa, you got yourself an admirer!" He teases the blushing Emi from behind the counter.

"Don't you th—" Before he could even finish his sentence he got cut of by a slap that came from his senior. He turn his head to face his angry senior as she swiftly point at the back room making him retreat in fear.

"Don't mind them, at least we got a regular because of you"

"Eh- is that a good thing?"Emi nervously sweat drops.

"here we can't let him wait"she gave Emi a menu and push her to him. Maou who was looking at his phone swiftly turn to see Emi standing in front of him.

"I-I'll be taking your order!"Maou seemingly smile like nothing and reach for the menu.

"I like your suggestions last time, mind giving me another one?"Maou asked scanning the menu on his hand.

"Ah-how about our blueberry cheesecake?! if not blueberry, we have strawberry ones" Maou touches the template of his chin as he make a hard decision between the two. While he brainstorms what flavor he'll be taking. It gave Emi some time to scan the man in front of him. She couldn't get a good look at him because he would come at lunch, a busy time which Emi call it.

As she scan his black greenish hair and black fashionable suit to his branded shoe and back to his red eyes—

Wha-wait red eyes!—

"I'll take the strawberry one"

"Ah—"surprisingly cutting her off from her thoughts, her surprise look made Maou chuckle

"Is a man picking strawberry surprising?" he asked making her stutter in the process

"O-o-f c-course n-Not!!"

"Ah! my liege how was your break!"Ashiya greets Maou happily as he checks through the paperworks. Maou who simply reply with a ' hmm ' takes a seat on his office chair. Ashiya who took notice of Maou's continuously visit to Ente Isla can only be described by Ashiya as a miracle.

"The reports are in, and I can say the results can only be ' Amazing' my liege!"Ashiya automatically started to report Updates to Maou, until Maou raise his hand to indicate for him to stop.

"Ah—am I going to fast, my liege?"Maou took out a paper which is the Ente Isla restaurant flyer. Ashiya who is confused reaches to the paper and look at Maou confused.

"Where did you get this?" Maou asked

"I-I got this just right around the corner of the station...it was posted at the board..is something wrong, my liege?"

"You see..."Maou started to explain the events that had happened for the pass weeks. the surprise look on Ashiya's face was something out of a horror movie.

He stand up from the seat he took when Maou started to explain.

"I-I, AH—WHA—THE HE—SH—"

"Ashiya calm DOWN"

"B-but your excellency! we've been looking for her!!!that failure of a mother!!!!"

"Ashiya!hold your horses...we cannot be sure if it is really her...after all—"Maou trails of when he remembers the innocent and ignorant look Emi gave him when he found her. The fire and strong gaze she held before was now replace with nothing but pure innocent.

"After all?"

"She seems to not know me..."there was a long silence that filled the room.

"WHAT!?!?!?!?!wha—so she's faking ignorance so we won't blame her for leaving Alas-Ramus??!!"Ashiya again shouted slamming both his hands on the table making a hard hand print on the wooden table. Maou ignores the damage and tries to calm Ashiya down. After a couple of minutes, Ashiya seem to calm down.

"We can't be sure yet, that is why tomorrow you'll be joining me for lunch"

"H-how about today?"

"We can't, make sure your free for tomorrow—" Maou then quickly dismiss Ashiya. Though Ashiya wanted to ask more, he quietly left the office.

After closing the door Ashiya transform to his demonic form and departed to who knows where. Meanwhile Maou Emptily gaze at his phone's notification, messages that came from Chiho asking questions of what he's doing. He lazily again replies and continue his workaholic routine, waiting for the day to end.

Ashiya standing in front of Ente Isla restaurant hastily scan the building making him more suspicions than Maou who is face palming beside him.

"Dude, I said casually not be a detective!"After Embarrassing themselves in public Ashiya and Maou enters the restaurant. Maou who became a regular casually walks to a familiar table. Ashiya who is still gazing at the beautiful interior gape in amazement.

"You brought someone with you today" a waiter said will handing him a menu

"Ah—yes... where's—"

"Emi? she's out right now, some school stuff"

Wait, she goes to school????

"Ah—I see, I'll be ordering a take out then—"the waiter nodded and takes his order of pasta and American burger. He then left them to inform the kitchen leaving Maou to scan the room and gazing back to the surprised Ashiya.

"S-sire this p-place—"

"She's not here today"Ashiya who's about to compliment the place gets cut of by Maou, who look troubled.

"Wh—then when can we see her?"

"I don't know, the waiter said she's doing school stuff"

"School?the hero?"

"Yes, the boy said so..."Maou makes a small glimpse at the waiter and gaze back to Ashiya.

"I'm really, really confused with everything, Emi disappeared six years ago and so did her parents and also losing contact with the angels. And now here she is who we've been looking for, working part-time and also going to school"Ashiya who calm down look at Maou seriously, touching his chin connecting what little of information he have.

"It does feel weird from the start...and I also can't help but be suspicious sire"

"Suspicious?"

"Yes, it just feels like everything seems to be planned out—you're meeting her again, if what you said is correct and that the Hero doesn't recognize you. Then what about her parents? how about Nord and Laylah? Gabriel and the Angels??"There was small silence and Ashiya started to continue

"Though don't get me wrong sire, but if The Hero did lost her memories and is still registered as Emi Yusa then why couldn't we track her???"Maou seem to catch what Ashiya meant with his wide eyes and submerged into a deep thought.

Ashiya is right—for the pass six years we couldn't track or even feel her presence. even Alas couldn't sync with her it's as if everything that's connected just seem to cut and disappeared. And what's up with Nord and Laylah disappearing too? and so did that annoying Gabriel...

"It's like a stage, everything feels so wrong. I can't even describe it in words!"

"Yesterday, after you dismiss me I flown straight to Lucifer..."

"Lucifer? for what"

"Well.. he's good with computers right? he might be able to help us get more information about her—but"

"But?"

"After arriving and confirming that he's not there I chose to come back in the evening.. and so I was able to meet with him but he was in hurry so I couldn't ask"

"Can't we just hire someone?"Maou suggested but Ashiya shakes his head.

"I have a feeling he might know something—we'll just have to wait until he gets back"after their small discussion their take out have arrived and they left the restaurant each having their own food.

"I'll see you in the office Ashiya, I'll just pick up something for Alas-Ramus"

"I'll be awaiting for you my liege" departing in each opposite direction Maou seemingly walk in a slow pace thinking what had happened to Emi for the last six years and why everything feels so off.

While he brainstorm everything in his mind a familiar hair colour stand in front of him waving her hand for him.

"MAOU!!!!!!!!"

Hello Amazing person! I know I haven't updated. I've been trying out new things and just mess up my schedule and everything.and again I'm sorry for the poorly written update and everything (adding up my bad English, grammar, typo and any other errors) in the story. And I'm glad that you reach this far and I'll try my best to UPDATE sooner.
