Chapter 5 Hesitation? or not
"MAOU!!!"
Her brown long hair dances with the wind as she wave her hand to Maou.
"Chiho..."
The girl didn't hesitate and flung herself to him. Hugging him in public eye in which Maou have learned to hate. He pushes her just a little further then scan the place Hoping not to see a paparazzi. after all him being CEO of a company very well known to public, and starting rumors can only stress him out.
"Chiho—didn't I told you to be careful?There's a lot of paparazzi following you because of the last rumor"
"But we're dating aren't we?"a long pause seem to pass Maou, as he look at her tiredly then sigh
"...Yes...but right now... I'm stressed out"Chiho didn't seem to care and just pout
"You always say that, didn't I told you to rest?"
This made Maou annoyed but not to get mad in public he sighed again. It's true that he needs a rest but he can't, specially now that he found Emi and his only main goal is reuniting his poor daughter and Emi back together. Resting will just have to wait and THEIR relationship...will also have to wait.
"Anyway why are you here?"
"I came to visit a friend here.. Suzuno is also—
"Wait Suzuno?"
"Y-yeah"somehow this made Maou Mad
"What !!!? Didn't I told her to make sure the portal is well guarded?!"
In just a moment Suzuno stand behind Maou
"I assure you, The Portal is well guarded—"
"Well guarded my ass, that's what you told me last time.."Maou glared Daggers at Suzuno remembering the recent attack of a rouge demon.
Suzuno in the other hand avoided his gaze.
"It's not Suzuno's fault. I asked her to come with me—"
"And Suzuno should have very well known to decline" He didn't change his gaze but then a small glimpse of a smiling Emi came across his mind calming him down then gave him some time to think about his actions. Seeing that his scaring Suzuno he sigh and turned to Chiho.
"Make this quick, we can't leave the portal unprotected by a higher up, specially when the angels are gone"Maou shuffles his hair annoyingly
"I better go back now, I'll call you when I visit Alas-ramus" He left the two and disappeared without hearing another word from them.
"Maou has become different—
"Don't say that, he's just busy!"Chiho cut her off and tries to fend for him but Suzuno knew better that Maou has become a true Demon King ever since Emi disappeared giving her a slight jealousy.
"Ah!!!!! I'm all done!!!!!"Emi shouted as she stretches her body from sitting down too long.
"Ah~thank you so much for your help dear" a familiar angel enters her room carrying a snack and refreshing drinks from the kitchen.
"Ah! mama!"Emi quickly reach to the snacks to help Laylah
"Hm~ It's the least I can do, specially when I'm moving tomorrow" seeing her happy daughter Laylah pats her head happily.
"Ah~ you've grown so much~ Don't forget to visit ok?"
"Hm~"while the mother and daughter happily dive deep to their conversation another familiar angel enters the house.
"Gabriel"Nord calls out for him
"Ah!Nord, how's Emilia?"
"It's Emi, please be careful"
"Ah yes Emi,"
"She's fine, there haven't been any accident lately that relates to her" Nord said as he serve a cold drink to Gabriel.
"And about her moving?"
"I'm fully against it, but she insists and controlling her won't do anything good"
"I can relate to that"the two takes a seat on the living room, again rising another conversation that includes Emi and Alas-ramus.
"Poor child, She must still be heart broken"
"I bet so, though I haven't have any information about Maou. Lucifer has been quite busy covering our tracks" In Lucifer's case he's been a big help in covering and informing them, pushing another job to him will only overuse the boy which Gabriel and Nord tries to never do.
"Ah!Uncle Gabriel how's your shop?"Emi who just entered the living room happily greets Gabriel with a hug.
"Great as always! I see that your moving tomorrow" Gazing at the box just at the corner of the living room. Emi nervously scratch the back of her head, embarrassed of the mess she made while packing.
"Mhh~ there won't be any afternoon classes tomorrow so after my shift I'll be unpacking in my new apartment"
"Do you need any help?"
"I know your a busy guy, I can handle this myself after all while I work mom and Dad will send this to my apartment" Gabriel nodded seeing that Emi can perfectly take care of herself.
Finishing the morning shift Emi bids her goodbyes to her fellow co-workers. Exiting the restaurant heading straight to her new apartment. But along the way a familiar customer stands in front of her.
"Ah hello sir, are you heading to Ente Isla?"
The black greenish haired gentleman hesitates to answer her question, scratching the back of his head wondering what to answer.
"Ah...y-yes... I..was going to look for someone..." he trails off at the last of his sentence avoiding Emi's pure gaze. Emi just nodded and walk pass him.
"I hope you'll find the person your looking for" She smilingly glances at him. She continues to walk, leaving the gentleman at lost of thought. Snapping out he quickly turn to her direction seeing her back disappearing from the crowd, he quickly tries to look for her swiftly turning his head in every direction.
Shit! I can't hesitate now and just make base judgement I need to make sure if she really doesn't remember me!
He thought while he tries to look for her. Not long he gets a glimpse of her magenta hair near the fountain in the midst of the crowd he reaches to her left hand and turns her to his direction. Emi's surprised and confused expression look straight at Maou. while he gasp for air Emi swiftly free herself from his grasp.
"S-sir, is there a problem?" She asked
"I...the person... I was looking for is... you!"
--beat--
"W-what!?" hearing his words Emi couldn't help but blush.
"Do...you really not remember me? Emilia?"
Hello!!! amazing person!!!!as you can see I wasn't lying when I said I'll UPDATE sooner XDXDXD anyway again I want to apologize for any errors and mistakes. I'm not really sure how Nord and Gabriel normally talk, so I just followed my instinct. Also I want to say thank you for reaching this far again XDXD hope to see you in the next chapter.
