ULFRIC SEARCHED DAGON'S PALACE FOR MONTHS WITH NO SUCCESS FOR THE SECRET OF THE ELDER SCROLL. The Dark Lord of Tamriel raged and those who served him gave him a wide berth. Even the Night King avoided him at all costs as the former Stormcloak leader vainly searched the Daedric Lord's stronghold. Now in the dead of night, Ulfric and the Night King approached the Sky Haven Temple with three thousand White Walkers. Ulfric knew that the Dragonborn kept the Elder Scroll that Sauron constructed in the Akaviri stronghold and if he could take the fortress and study the scroll, he could restore the destroyed Silmaril. The Night King advised him that attacking the castle was risky for Rivendell was not nearly as strategically positioned as Sky Haven Temple. The Night King looked up at the mountain where the fortress was built and knew it would be nearly impossible to take. He was just happy that it was not a moonlit night where the enemy could see his troops. He remembered the accuracy of the Akaviri archers and how many of his men fell to their arrows.
"At least there is no moon and the enemy cannot see us" the Night King commented as a steady rain began falling.
"Make no mistake son of Westeros. The Akaviri already know we're here" as thunder rolled. "Prepare your troops . . ."
A storm of arrows slammed into the White Walker column from all sides as the Akaviri ambushed them. Ulfric watched as an arrow caught one of the White Walkers in the throat - his blood splashing his face. Before Ulfric could raise a defensive ward, the Akaviri loosed a further three volleys felling scores more of his troops. Ulfric swore at his inability to hit back as he heard a Shout carried over the wind and recognized the Storm Call Shout. The Dragonborn was at Sky Haven Temple. Lightning struck the White Walkers killing hundreds and the rain intensified. Ulfric and the Night King surveyed the field and were angered by the loss of so many troops. Ulfric knew the Shout would last only a few minutes, but it would cause significant damage to his forces. A flash of lightning carried the sight of a lone person standing in rain and recognized the Dragonborn's daughter Brianna.
"Ah – the descendant of Melian and heir to Doriath comes to challenge me. I understand you trained under the Psijic's. Pity they were so easily slain" Ulfric taunted her. "And to think you could possibly threaten me. When my captain turns you into a White Walker, your father will be too busy fighting you to deal with me" Ulfric said arrogantly.
A searing pain entered Ulfric's mind as Brianna struck him with power of the Eldar. Ulfric had never experienced that kind of magic before. He had glimpsed it when he trained under Sauron and lusted for that kind of power, but knew that strength came from the Maiar and Valar bloodlines. And unfortunately for him Brianna's mother was a direct descendant of Melian, a Maiar. The Psijic's apparently taught her the ways of the Istari and Ulfric knew she was more than a match for his abilities. As the pain intensified and Ulfric was slowly brought to his knees, the young Akaviri responded.
"You fool. The Psijic's gave me every scroll and tome that the Istari wrote. I studied them dutifully and learned every spell and power. You have no idea what I'm capable of" Brianna countered not realizing the danger she was in as the Night King stalked her flank. The Night King reached out to turn her into one of his thralls when he was violently flung backward. He looked up expecting to see the former Justiciar Maius. Instead he was shocked to see a woman with white silver hair leaping from her horse, a silver sword in her hand. She was younger than Daenerys and the Night King parried her attack with Aeglos. The Night King retreated a few feet and drew his sword and realized he was fighting Geralt of Rivia's adopted daughter Cirilla. The exiled princess of Cintra turned Witcher was here in Skyrim and the Night King crossed blades with her. The Night King had heard tales of Witcher's and their skill with a blade was legendary, chiefly Geralt. But Cirilla lacked the experience of a battle tested Witcher, but her blade skills were beyond comparison. The Night King knew his only chance at survival was deception and retreat. Cirilla's appearance took Brianna by surprise giving Ulfric a small window to break her hold on him. Ulfric watched as the Akaviri struck down his troops and knew the battle was lost. Yet he couldn't afford to lose the Night King and gave the order to withdraw. Ulfric caught a glimpse of the fight between Cirilla and the Night King and his captain was completely on the defensive. Yet he admired the wild savagery of the young woman and admitted to himself there was a certain beauty to it. But he couldn't allow her to kill his commander.
Ulfric unleashed a torrent of lightning and instead of striking the young Witcher, Brianna caught it in her hand, using her Eldar powers to absorb the mystical assault. Ulfric was shocked and impressed at the display of raw magical power by the Akaviri battle mage. The Dark Lord of Tamriel now understood that the Dragonborn's daughter was more powerful than any mage in Tamriel and was at least on par with that of the Istari and that was a power he couldn't contend with. At least not yet . . ."
"Ulfric Stormcloak! Betrayer of Tamriel and Skyrim! Come face me" Ulfric heard a voice scream and lightning revealed the shape of the Dragonborn. "Time to face justice! Face the wrath of the Dovahkiin!"
"Not today Dragonborn. You win this day, but you have not won the war" Ulfric replied as he opened a portal and stepped through disappearing the Night King following. The Akaviri Knights continuing the slaughter of the White Walkers led by Jon, Daenerys, Arya and Kellian. The battle at the base of Sky Haven was a complete rout as all of Ulfric's troops were put to the sword. As the Akaviri walked among the dead and dying White Walkers finishing them off, Brianna warmly greeted her friend from the Northern Kingdoms.
"Ciri! What are you doing here? I thought you were at Kaer Morhen" Brianna cried embracing her friend.
"And let my only remaining blood family stand alone against the darkness that is coming? I had to come to you and your father's aid" Ciri answered her.
"Wait. I don't understand. Family" Brianna asked confused.
"I learned that Elder blood runs through my veins and traced my ancestry to Luthien. The daughter of Queen Melian. We share the same grandmother my good friend and distant cousin" Ciri replied with a smile.
"Does my father know about us being related" Brianna wanted to know.
"I don't know if Yennefer told him. There is something different about you" Ciri told her.
"Well that's because after the war I agreed to marry Jon Snow" Brianna answered beaming.
"Congratulations! By why wait after the war? Surely you would want to start a family" Ciri wanted to know.
"The danger Ulfric poses is the greatest since the Aldmeri Dominion invasion. Now that the Thalmor are fractured and leaderless, Ulfric looks to fill that power void by releasing Sauron and Morgoth from the void" Brianna responded. "The Psijic's said my brother Talion would rise in the time of Three Dark Lords. Prophecy says that Morgoth will return when the lost Silmarils of Feanor are found. Fortunately, I destroyed one, but Ulfric is looking to construct an Elder Scroll to change the timeline to undo what I did."
"An Elder Scroll has that kind of power" Ciri cried out.
"Elder Scrolls have the ability to look into the future, see the past and are pathways to abilities many consider unnatural. That's why my father says they should be destroyed and all knowledge of them forbidden."
"Then why does he possess one" Cirilla questioned
"He wants to destroy them, but the Emperor forbade it. But enough talk of darkness. What news of the Northern Kingdoms" Brianna answered her cousin.
ARYA VOMITTED IN THE BUSH AND COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY HER STOMACH HAD BEEN VIOLENTLY UPSET FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS. She had seen battle wounds before in Westeros and dragon burn victims at Whiterun and it didn't make her sick. But for the past week, she was very ill and hoped it wasn't what she suspected. She heard footsteps behind her and noticed Daenerys walking up.
"Bad salmon got away from me" Arya tried to explain.
"Kellian has the right to know Arya. My son deserves to know he's going to be a father and you cannot be in this fight anymore. You have to think of your unborn child."
"Kellian needs to be focused on defeating Ulfric. If I tell him that I'm with child then he'll abandon his duties to be with me. I'm his wife" Arya protested. "I have to be by his side."
"Kellian's father fought against the dragon's when his first wife Ysolda was pregnant with Brianna. How do you think your husband would react if you were injured or killed Arya?"
"Yet what gives you the right to fight by your husband Daenerys!? You have a young son destined for the throne and what if you leave him motherless? The Psijic's didn't mention anything about the Dragonborn in the future only that he has a 'dark road' ahead."
"The difference between me and you Arya is that I was trained by the Witcher Geralt of Rivia, the Akaviri and the Dragonborn. I'm more deadly than I was since I left Westeros and we don't know what the Psijic's meant by their prophecy."
"Perhaps after I give birth you can further my combat education" Arya said with a smile.
"You should ask your sister-in-law. Brianna is much better than me. Perhaps she is the greatest swordsman in Tamriel. Go give your husband the news and I'm sure my husband will be overjoyed to learn that he will soon be a grandfather."
As Arya turned to find Kellian, Daenerys cautioned her "but be warned. Your offspring will either be a prince or princess so I wouldn't tell your bother the news. Like Talion, your child represents a threat to his power and will be marked for death."
