A/N: Surprise, bitch! I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me :D

"This was a total waste of time," Ed scoffed, shuffling the large boxes in his arms as he, Kevin and Al walked back to the Coral Inn.

"Hey, at least we got a few boxes. Now we can replace the medication that was stolen." Al said happily, trying to cheer his older brother up. "I don't think Winry's gonna like playing nurse for everyone at the hotel though."

Scrunching his nose up, Ed snorted, "As if. I don't like that idea at all. If anyone needs any meds they can come to me. I'm not risking Winry with one of those sleeze balls."

Kevin, carrying three large boxes stacked on top of each other, rushed up to Ed's side and gave him a bump in the left shoulder. "Hey, don't worry about Winry, man. She can handle herself perfectly fine. One of the toughest girls- No, one of the toughest Brats I know."

"Still, I don't even want her to have to protect herself against someone. The more she's kept out of their way, the better."

Al smiled a little nervously, "Hey, I don't think she'd like you talking about her like that."

"Does it look like I care, Al? She's not keeping the medication locked in her room, and that's final!"

"Hmm...then again, if they really wanted anything, they could just use her as a hostage, whether she's got medication or not." Kevin said, thinking thoughtfully.

Rushing to catch up next to them, Al gave Kevin a warning glare as Ed's face became stormy.

"Of course no one would dare, Boss!" Kevin said, noticing his leader's menacing glower. "I'm just being an idiot, don't worry about that stupid stuff-!"

Al fell back, sighing in relief as Ed's fuse was put out, and he continued walking behind the two older boys as they made their way home. They had personally gone to the hospital and raided their drug storage. A lot of it was almost out of date, but Al was sure they would use it up in no time, especially with the new recruits. More people meant more injuries.

Ed was sulking, obviously thinking about Winry's safety among all the new recruits. Al knew she wouldn't have a problem defending herself, since he and Ed themselves taught her how to fight. She was nearly as good as Al himself. The only problem was that she didn't have as much strength, like Al, so he had to teach her everything he knew about using an opponent's strength against them. Being small and wiry, Al didn't have as much strength as Ed or Kevin.

Even without the automail, Ed was pretty strong. Three years ago, when he escaped from those government labs, Al noticed Ed had lost what little muscle he had and had a soft-looking stomach, no longer hollowed out like when he was living on the streets with Al. Al had been relieved to see that they at least had kept him well-nourished, but Kevin made fun of him relentlessly, calling him "fat" and "whale-boy."

Al didn't really like Kevin when they first met.

Ed had gone on a strict training program, angry at himself and the doctors for allowing his body to become soft and weak. Al grew worried about how much he pushed himself, trying to tell him he wasn't fat and he shouldn't listen to Kevin. Just because his stomach wasn't sunken in like most people that lived on the streets, didn't make him anywhere near overweight. But Ed said he didn't care about weight, he cared about being weak and that he wasn't ever going to let himself be taken by those government lackys again.

Ever since Ed had trained everyday, usually strength training in his own bedroom. He always got his endurance and cardio training from the constant missions. He never went back to that underfed, stick thin child on the streets or the weak and soft teenager that didn't know what was happening and jumping at his own shadow.

His brother became strong and developed a frightening personality that he showed to strangers, scaring them away from his family. Striking terror into anyone who dared try and come near. He became much less trusting and his paranoia was abnormal when strangers witnessed it. Yet, Al couldn't blame the strong paranoia. Not after what happened to his brother.

He came home, once having a naturally tan complexion, dreadfully pale and there were dark bags under his eyes that didn't fade for months. He would wake up screaming, about something eating him, about people stabbing him with needles. The small, run down house they had shared long ago only had two bedrooms, Al and Kevin would attempt to calm Ed down from his hysteria. It only lasted up to half a minute, but his eyes would be glazed over and he wouldn't know where he was until Kevin lit a lamp. By that time Winry was already awake and rushing into the room.

Ed would be embarrassed and try to tell them to not mind him, but all the same, Winry would ignore his attempt to brush them off and would rub his back. She would sit next to him on the edge of the bed and would run her hand over his back in circles as Ed stared at the ground. Sometimes it could last as long as half an hour before Ed told her he was fine and they should all go back to bed.

Al was so grateful for Winry. She was the one who figured out the workings of Ed's automail and saved him from his faulty system resets. By going to the library and old mechanic shops she was able to learn a lot about automail and how it worked. Fixing the broken wires and replacing missing screws was simple for her, but she went the extra step and learned as much as she could about the artificial limbs.

Even when his hair became long and he forgot to tie it up, she was the one to untangle it from his shoulder port when it got stuck.

And every single night, until those midnight hysterias turned into simple nightmares, she was the one who calmed him down while Kevin and Al could only sit there, watching.

It was no wonder she was so important to Ed.

After they finished stacking the medication in his closet, Ed told Kevin to make an announcement that if anyone needed medication to go to Ed and he would get it treated.

Ed wasn't pleased that he was going to have to be the nurse if he wouldn't let Winry.

Maybe he could let Al do it...

Then again he didn't want Al having to deal with them either...

Frustrated he told Al he was going for a walk and left the hotel. Several thoughts were flitting through his head as he drove his hands into his pockets, walking along the road towards the center place of the ghetto. These abandoned buildings, once a part of Central, were left to dissolve away. Drops in economy forced people to abandon the buildings and no ones ever took it upon themselves to fix it back up.

"Hey! Wait up!"

Ed instinctively rolled his eyes as Kevin ran up next to him, looking windswept.

"Where're you going?" Kevin asked, grinning down at Ed. "I figured you'd be sleeping after that terribly tiring mission."

"I need to walk, I've got too much to think about to just go lay down. I'd never fall asleep."

Pulling a small colored plastic bag out of his cargo pocket, Kevin offered it to Ed. Giving it a quick glance, he shook his head.

"You know I don't like candy, Kevin. And you always got weird shit," he said, pushing the proffered bag away.

"Hey, that old bacon flavored bubblegum wasn't that bad. Besides, this is just sour rocks. Don't you like sour?"

"I said no, Kevin."

Giving that shit-eating grin, Kevin tucked the bag back into his leg pocket, and said in a sing-song voice, "Yooour loooss."

Resisting his own smile, Ed shook his head again. It was still dark out, the early morning painting the sky a blue-black. Ed would've guess it was four or five in the morning.

Nearly yawning, Ed walked over a small bridge, a huge half pipe ran in the ground. It ran into the sewers, turning into a full pipe as it ran under the buildings. Ed looked over at the dark, cave-like pipe, feeling a little wary. It had to at least have a ten feet tall opening. Anything could be hiding in there-

"Gotcha!"

Ed nearly flew out of his skin as a hand jabbed into his flesh side, making him twist around and nearly hit Kevin in the face with his automail.

"You fucking asshole!" He shouted as Kevin started laughing.

"Your fucking face! Did you piss yourself?! Oh my god, I never thought I could jump you again!" Kevin clutched at his stomach, doubling over, as Ed became furious.

How could he scare him like that?!

"You're a dick, you know that, Kevin?"

Hey, I'm not the pansy-ass that got scared by a tunnel!" Kevin continued appearing to have a hard time breathing as he laughed, hitting his knee with a fist.

Unable to suppress the grin any longer, Ed gave Kevin a good shove, causing the brunet to stumble as he laughed harder.

"You're lucky this 'pansy-ass' didn't take your head off." Ed laughed, finding Kevin's laughter contagious.

As soon as the laughter subsided and was reduced to a few chuckles from Kevin, Ed looked back over at the tunnel one last time before they started walking again.

"Hey, remember when we used to live in that house down that street over there?" Kevin asked, pointing down said street on their left.

"Yeah, but I try not to think about it. Place reeked like mold and cats."

"I remember having to chase cats out of the building all the time. Al got so pissed. He wanted them all to stay." Kevin started chuckling again. "Remember when I got bit by a rabid one and it wouldn't let go of my hand, and I ended up accidentally flinging it through the bedroom window?"

"Yeah, Al wouldn't talk to you for days! He didn't believe it was an accident."

"Now that I think about it, I don't think it was an accident either."

The two young men continued walking, laughing about past memories, and pondering on the mystery of why Al liked those mangy beasts. Ed felt his previous worries start to slip away, forgotten for the time being, as he talked about the time both Kevin and Ed fell through a second story floor, as it turned out the floorboards had rotted straight through. Winry and Al, being the lightest, hadn't fallen through.

"Hey, if it weren't for my automail, I'd have been just fine. You're the fatass that went through without metal weighing you down." Ed jibed, eliciting a sneer from Kevin.

"Dude, it's pure muscle. Which if I can recall, you didn't have much of at the time."

"Got more than you now. You can't even beat my real arm at an arm wrestling match."

"Oh? You're on, man. As soon as we get back to the hotel, it's on, like Donkey Kong."

"What the fuck is Donkey Kong, Kev?"

Feigning offence, Kevin scoffed at him, "Seriously, you know so little. I need to bring you out more."

"You mean those stupid antique comic book and video game stores you're obsessed with?"

"Just give them a chance, man. It's so much better than sulking around your room- Hey...you alright, dude?"

Gripping at his side, Ed wasn't So sure if he was alright. He was feeling a strange pain spread from the metal fixture on his side all the way up to his right shoulder port, like a hot poison spreading through his veins.

"It's not another reset is it?" Kevin asked, reaching out for Ed's automail arm.

It hit him hard.

There was a strange high continuous beep and it felt like it was pressing on on Ed's eardrums. Trying to block it out with his hands, he slammed his hands over his ears. His automail was spasming. Not like it did when it was raining hard or when he was having a system reset. But like it had a life of its own. Making odd movements and jerking motions, like a seizure.

His automail arm suddenly fell to his side, limp, and his metal leg buckled, sending him to the ground. Before he hit, Kevin grabbed him, shouting his name.

"Ed?! What's wrong?!"

The high pitched noise pressed harder on his ear drums and he could only hold one hand to one ear, his automail refusing to obey, lifeless at his side.

Suddenly the noise ceased and Ed groaned in relief. His head was throbbing in pain and he felt drained, like he couldn't move if he wanted to.

"Hey, hey, man, what the hell was that? You're not trying to get pay back, are ya?" Kevin asked, still holding Ed up by the shoulders,, giving him a couple shakes as he tried to get a response from the blond.

Ed couldn't speak as he tried to get a hold of himself, he felt like his head was whirling and his thoughts were quickly slipping away into the dark place of oblivion. But no matter how much he welcomed it, unconsciousness wouldn't come. He felt sick. His stomach was lurching and he felt like he needed to throw up. Curling in on his middle, Ed found some relief to his protesting innards.

The hands that were holding him up were trembling as they pulled him closer, he could hear Kevin's shaky voice as he was lowered onto the ground, on his back, which made his stomach feel much worse. The pain in his stomach incresing as he was forced out of his protective hunched over posture.

"H-hey. You got me back if this is a joke. You're freaking me out, Ed. Answer me!" Kevin said, slapping Ed lightly on the cheek.

Realizing his eyes were scrunched shut, he forced them open, feeling even sicker as the sky above him seemed to spin. Kevin's wide, light brown eyes were staring down at him, full of fear.

Sighing in relief, Kevin gave Ed a uneasy smile, "What the hell was that, man? You trying to give me a premature heart attack?"

"What...?" Ed mouthed the word, but he couldn't speak. Something was wrong. Kevin furrowed his brow as he opened his mouth to ask Ed what was wrong but a different voice interrupted him.

"Well, it certainly took me a while, but I finally found you."

Head jerking at that familiar voice, Ed saw Kevin's eyes widen even further as he looked up, over at where the voice was coming from.

"What...you...Did you do this to him?!" Kevin shouted. Ed could feel his insides shrinking as he took all his energy to lift his head, and look up over at the man who stood nearly a dozen yards away. It was dark, the sun not having shown its light yet, but he could recognize that voice anywhere.

A voice that belonged to a man that he once thought he could trust had betrayed him so heartlessly.

"After all this time I started thinking I'd never see either of you again. Most certainly not still together. Must be my luck finally coming through."

"Oh, you're that kid who was running around senseless in the labs, weren't you?"

"Yeah, considering I was as high as a kite from all those drugs those bastards always forced into me."

"Good thing you ran into me then, isn't it? My name is William, but the way, friends' call me Will."

"I'm none of your damn business. Thanks for the other day, alright? But I've got to leave."

"Already? But is that anyway to thank the guy who saved your life?"

"William, you bastard! What the hell do you want?!" Kevin yelled, grabbing onto Ed and lifting him off the ground, helping him on to his feet. He made Ed put his real arm around his shoulders and let him lean on him. The world was starting to tip sideways again and Ed felt his stomach give a final lurch and he sicked onto the ground, gagging.

"I can see you're as short sighted as ever, Kevin. Three long years and you still don't seem to have gotten a brain."

Backing up and bringing Ed with him, Kevin seethed, glaring daggers out at the older man. Even in his daze, Ed could see the fear starting to fill those usually confident eyes.

"Long story short, I nearly lost my job and all of my income. I was going to become just another unemployed dead beat, dying on the side of the streets. But due to my extensive knowledge on H.A.E.'s I was offered a new job, one to redeem my past failures."

Holding up a strange metal cylinder, Ed felt his head starting to clear up as he put both the strange noise and the way his automail was reacting together. That remote.

"I've already caught a dozen H.A.E.'s with this beauty. Whether they're malfunctioning and have gone wild or are passive, they submit to this with just a click of a button."

"So you're catching all of the H.A.E's you let loose?!" Kevin asked, wrapping his free arm around Ed's back, ready to take off and run. Ed started preparing himself, he wasn't sure how fast he could run in this state. He wasn't sure what would happen if William pressed that button one more time...

"Several have been killed, I've found. That leaves you, and three others. I was pretty sure you were dead by now, since I hadn't heard or seen anything. Turns out you higher advanced H.A.E.'s are a lot harder to subdue. I've only caught one."

Then there are four of them left...including me.

Ed's eyes widened in realization.

So that one back at the hotel Winry's taking care of is an advanced one, also.

Then why is he completely malfunctioned and not me?

Holding up the metal device, William grinned at them, "Anyone with an H.A.E. system in their brain within a quarter mile radius will go down."

"Son of a bitch." Kevin hissed, tightening his grip on Ed's waist. It was taking all of Ed's strength just to keep his head up and help hold himself up. What the fuck was that thing?

"Hand him over or I'll press this again. I know for a fact you can't carry him and outrun me."

"You can go fuck yourself! I'm not handing him over-!" Kevin shouted, but something made him flinch. Glancing up, Ed could feel his stomach bottom out as he saw the cold, metallic gleam of a gun, held in William's hand.

It was aimed right at Kevin.

Yanking his arm away from Kevin's shoulders, Ed shoved Kevin away, causing him to fall to the ground in surprise. Ed stayed standing, wobbily as he stared down at Kevin, looking up in shock at him from the ground.

"You're not getting shot over me, idiot." Ed spat at him, clutching his automail arm, trying to alleviate it's weight by holding it up against his stomach. It seemed so much heavier now that it was immobile. Looking up at William, who had a wicked grin on his face, Ed glared back in return.

"I'll come with you, but you can't hurt Kevin. And if you try anything, I will kill you, whether you use your little toy or not, got that? I don't care how much it hurts, I will fucking kill you if you hurt him."

Ed felt triumphant as a flicker of fear showed in William's eyes.

You've changed a lot in the past three years, Edward."

Picking himself up off the ground, Kevin snatched Ed's arm and held him back but Ed knocked it away, growling at him.

"Back down, Kevin."

"I'm not letting you go back there!" Kevin shouted.

Swinging around, Ed glowered at Kevin, "We don't have a choice! Either he shoots you now and I go, or he takes me out with that thing and then shoots you. You're not getting shot over me!"

"I'm not letting you go back there! Who knows what they'll do to you when you're back in that place. You're not going-!"

Feeling a spurt of anger, Ed reeled his flesh arm back and punched Kevin in the face as hard as he could. He didn't hold back. Kevin was caught by surprise and didn't have time to react as he took the hit full on in the jaw. Falling back onto the ground again, laying there in a dazed surprise as he sat up clutching his jaw.

"I said I'm going!"

Hearing the crunch of broken tar and dirt behind him, Ed swung around, only to see William walking up to them, holding up the device. Feeling his back stiffen reflexively, he watched as William clicked the button again.

Twice as worse as before, Ed collapsed on the ground, pinning his right ear to the ground and slamming his flesh hand over his ear, shaking at the loud ringing and praying for it to stop.

Unaware of his close proximity, William stopped next to Ed, tucking the toe of his boot underneath the blond and rolling him over onto his back. Ed stared up in anger and fear as he watched the older man pull the hammer back on the gun still trained on Kevin, grinning maliciously as he did so.

"Then again, I think I'll kill you right here anyway. If it weren't for this little shit, I'd have had my fortune years ago."

Mouth moving like a gasping fish out of water, Ed felt the heavy boot of William come crashing down onto his chest, forcing the air out of his lungs and out his mouth in a strange wheezing noise. His eyes watered from the lack of air and pain as he watched, his attacker above him, the heavy boot still pressing him down into the road as he started pulling the trigger of the gun. Kevin sat there, still clutching his jaw as he looked up at the barrel of the pistol.

Ed tried yelling out, tried hitting the leg pinning him harshly to the ground, but the loud gun shot rang in his ears, despite the constant whine of the device, screaming in his head.

Just as the gunshot rang out, there was a flash of metal and the gun was thrown out of William's hand, bullet flying off into one of the nearby buildings, shattering a window.

"What the-"

Kevin stared, his jaw still throbbing painfully in unison with his pulse, as the gun went flying out of William's hand. A throwing knife landed in the dirt a few feet away, sticking straight up from a patch of dirt. Movement in the corner of his eye made him look over at the buildings behind William. A dark figure jumped out from the window of the second story and started running over to them.

William followed Kevin's gaze and almost in a flash, the figure was gone. Looking around, Kevin started feeling sick as he searched for the strange hooded person clad in black. Shaking his head, he saw William searching his front jacket pocket for something, probably another gun. Gritting his teeth he shot up, feeling dizzy as he reached for the buck knife he kept strapped to his thigh.

The man had already noticed Kevin and pulled a second hand gun from his jacket, lashing out with it and striking Kevin in the temple with the hard metal.

Before Kevin hit the ground, he was caught by the arms. Glancing over he felt himself blanch as he stared up at a white and red mask with two black marks under the eyes of the mask. It was the hooded guy!

"You little bastard!" William shouted at the strange masked guy, pointing the gun at them again.. "You nearly hit my hand with that throwing knife!"

Before Kevin could blink there was a flash of white and yellow, a swirl of black hair, and a figure pounced down onto the shoulders of William, a knife flashing out as it slashed sideways, slitting the man's vulnerable throat.

Using William's shoulders as leverage, the black haired man jumped away, landing lightly a few feet away with a barely audiable crunch of dirt. Pushed backwards by the shove, William fell to his back, blood gushing from his throat wound as he choked, clutching at his throat.

Staring in awe, Kevin realized that the black haired assassin was-

"Ling?!"

Ignoring him, Ling motioned for the guy still holding Kevin up by the shoulders.

"Ran Fan, would you please finish this? I will take them back to the hotel." Ling said, walking over to William, still making retching and coughing noises as he bled out. The masked guy named Ran Fan let go of Kevin and walked over to the bleeding man.

Forcefully, Ling pulled the cylinder remote from William's other hand, examining it.

"This is a dirty way to fight your enemy. Incapacitating them and threatening his friends," Ling slid the switch on the side of the device off and gave it a shake at him.

Staggering over, with a blinding headache, Kevin looked down at Ed, still lying face up. His face had gone slack and he was staring up at the sky with dazed looking eyes.

"Is he alright?" Kevin asked, watching Ling slip the cylindrical device into his pants pocket and kneel down next to Ed, letting the Ran Fan guy take care of William.

Never seeing Ling look so...serious before, Kevin knelt down on the other side of Ed, feeling anxious at the lifeless look on the blond's face.

Reaching down, Ling felt for Ed's pulse in his wrist, looking concerned. Kevin started panicking when Ling dropped Ed's arm and reached up to his neck, feeling for the pulse there.

"His heart has stopped beating."

Sucking in a sharp breath, Kevin became nauseouas he stared in terror from Ed's face up to Ling.

"W-what?! He's not...You're not saying he's dead, are you?!"

There was a strange, gargled chuckle from behind Ling and both boys glanced over at William, still laying in a pool of his blood.

"L-looks...like I left the... stunner on too...long." He rasped, barely understandable from all of the blood filling his throat.

There was a loud shot, and Kevin flinched as he saw a strange, sleek black gun in Ran Fan's hand, ceasing William's gasping breaths.

"It appears to be cardiac arrest. His heart hasn't stopped for too long. Allow me to perform chest compressions." Ling said, reaching up and pulling the zipper of Ed's jacket down. Leaving Ed's chest only covered in a thin black shirt, Ling pressed his hands over Ed's heart, and started doing quick, rapid pushes.

Kevin watched in fascination and filled with an anxiety ridden fear as Ling performed the CPR. Kevin heard of it dozens of times. It was just a hundred presses in a minute, no stopping.

But Ed didn't appear to be responding, his head lolling to the side, eyes staring off past Kevin.

Kevin could feel the tears building up in his eyes as he furrowed his brow, grinding his teeth in anger as he pounded a fist to the ground. Pain stung his knuckles as they crunched into the gravel, but he ignore it, sight becoming blurry with tears.

"Dammit, Ed! Wake up!" He shouted, his mind swirling as the pain in his left temple increased.

Ed couldn't die. No matter what shit the small gang leader was put through, he always came out of it. He was always banged up and hurt, but he could still throw snide remarks at Kevin. The guy was like a cat, he had nine lives. Always somehow taking these big hits and taking less damage to his body than a normal person. Never dying.

You can't die, Ed. Please...please, wake up! Don't die on me, you little bastard!

Feeling the tears escape and slide down his face, Kevin felt pathetic as he sat there, on his heels, unable to do anything as he watched Ling remove his hands from Ed's chest, and reach for his wrist again, feeling for a pulse.

You can't die...What would I do? What would Al or Winry or Jeremy do? All the kids...the whole Brat'ja gang. No one can take over for you, Ed! You're the only one who can keep this gang going! You're the only one who can be in control of so many people and care for them at the same time! You say you hate people, but I know you don't! I know you care about each and every one of them.

Please, wake up

!

"There we go." Ling muttered, still gripping Ed's wrist.

Staring intensely, Kevin watched the dull eyes of his best friend blink shut. Feeling a grin spread across his face, he leaned closer.

"Hey! Hey, Ling! He blinked! It worked!"

Grabbing Ed's chin Ling turned the gang leader's head to face straight up again. Holding his hand out to Ran Fan, palm out, the black clad figure unzipped a small black bag strapped to their waist and pulled a small flashlight out. Placing it into Ling's hand, he flicked it on, forcing one of Ed's eyes open by spreading the eyelids apart.

Confused, Kevin stared as each of Ed's pupils shrink as the black haired Xingese man checked both eyes with the flashlight.

"Yes. There doesn't seem to be any severe damage, for now. I think he'll be alright." Ling said, standing up and handing the flash light back to Ran Fan. "But he will need rest. He won't wake up soon, so stop prodding at him."

Feeling an intense sense of relief replace the anxiety that had built up in the pit of his stomach, Kevin let out a loud sigh, wiping at the tears that had started drying on his face. Flinching at the sore cut that ran down from his temple to his cheek, he hissed in a breath as it started to sting.

Stepping over to him, Ran Fan knelt on one knee next to Kevin.

"Are you hurt?"

Nearly having a heart attack, Kevin whiplashed his neck as he cranked it to stare over at the masked guy- no, girl! That was a girl's voice he heard!

"Dude!"

Ran Fan pulled the mask from his- no , her face and pulled the hood down, looking at him with a concerned look.

"You were hit in the head awfully hard."

"Du- You're a girl!?" Kevin flailed, scooting away a bit from the Xingese girl, her long black hair pulled up into a bun. How could she be so...fast? And she even hit William's gun right out of his hand from that distance?! It was impossible!

"Ran Fan, please help him walk back to the hotel. I'm not sure how badly he is hurt." Ling said, ignoring Kevin's dismay, as he bent down and picked Ed's head up off of the ground. Ran Fan left Kevin's side and rushed over to help Ling hoist the unconscious blond up onto Ling's back. Kevin knew how heavy Ed was and wondered if the small Xingese man could carry him.

"I'll go on ahead and get medical assistance from Winry at the hotel." Ling said, leaning forward and supporting Ed on his back by holding him up by his legs.

Nodding, Ran Fan turned from Ling as he left. Kevin watched, dumbstruck at how fast Ling could walk even weighed down by Ed's automail weight.

"Now, let me assist you on your way home." Ran Fan said, holding her hand out for Kevin. Blinking up at her, he noticed he was still sitting on his ass on the ground. Turning red, he hopped up from the ground, ignoring her hand.

"Oh, no. I don't need any help! I'm totally fine. Barely scratched." Kevin swatted the dirt off his cargo pants as he grinned at the girl. "That dumbass is lucky to have gotten any hits on me at all! I was just so concerned for the boss I got distracted."

Staring at him blandly, Ran Fan nodded, "I see."

Feeling slightly irked as she turned around and started walking off towards the direction of the hotel, Kevin started following after her before coming to an abrupt stop, turning around and staring down at the body laying, motionless in its dark puddle of blood, on the ground.

How did he find us?
