John POV
After the "Incident" with Peggy, Alex and I have been a little more careful with our relationship. We made sure that Peggy would be the only one who knew about this, and for it to stay that way. Peggy agreed that if we want our relationship to be a secret then she wouldn't say anything. Surprisingly, she can keep her mouth shut pretty well.
"Martha? When is Father getting back tonight?" I called.
"He's on a business trip, he won't be back for another month," she responded.
I froze. How could I forget? Yes! This is great! "Martha, I'm going out with my friends tonight, is that okay?"
"Yeah, that's fine."
"Thanks!" I yelled, running out to Alex's house. He had recently gotten his own car, so he and I were leaving for Hercules's house for the night. "Lexi!"
"Hey, you," he said with a hello kiss. "Ready to go?"
"Yeah," I said, "the plan tonight is to cuddle a lot?"
"Yep," he smiled, hopping into the driver's seat. We had a comfy conversation about something random, sneaking a little kiss every now and then at a red light. Once we arrived at Herc's house, there was no sign of anyone who might see us. "One last kiss?" Alex asked, giving me puppy eyes.
"Sure," I said, giving him a chaste kiss before stepping out of the car. I walked up to the door with Alex at my side about to knock on the door when Alex just kicked it down. I pinched the bridge of my nose and giggled.
"Yo, Herc! Two of your best asshole friends are here!" Alex screamed.
"Great, we're in the living room," Herc yelled. Lafayette was sitting next to Peggy on the couch. I sent her a look. She glared at me before texting someone.
MissIgnored: don't you fuckin dare
I snorted before putting my phone away. "Hey, guys," I said.
"Anybody wanna watch a Disney movie?" Angelica asked, rifling through Herc's DVD collection.
"MOANA," Herc stated loudly.
"Yes," I snapped my fingers. Alex and I plopped on the sectional next to each other, but not too close. "I'll make popcorn!" Alex yelled as the beginning ads started.
"Hurry up, you ass!" I called.
"I'm hurrying! I can't necessarily speed time up," he ranted.
Once Alex came back with five bowls of popcorn, he handed one to Eliza, one to Angelica, one to Herc, one for Peggy and Laf to share, and one for us to share. He sat down next to me, but closer this time.
"I AM MOANAAAA!" Everyone screeched except for Angelica and Eliza; they sang sweetly.
Every so often throughout the movie when Alex reached for popcorn, he would scoot closer to me. Eventually, I threw a piece of popcorn on Alex's face. He tossed a handful at my face. Soon it was war between me and him. I snatched the bowl out of Alex's hands and chucked some more at him. He grabbed Herc's bowl of popcorn and dumped the whole thing on my head. Lafayette and Peggy threw their bowl at us and it hit me in the head but the popcorn fell on Alex. "Shh!" Peggy whisper shouted. She was cuddled up against Lafayette's chest and shoulder with one finger over her lips. I waggled my eyebrows when she narrowed her eyes with a look that could kill.
Halfway through the movie, Alex rested his head against my chest. I smiled and wrapped my arm around his shoulders and let out a happy sigh. Eliza gave me a surprised look. I gave her a confused look back.
I don't know how long I got through the movie, but I eventually fell asleep with my head on Alex's. I awoke to someone nudging me. "Johnnnnnnyyyyy," Alex quietly whined, "wake up. I'm hungry."
"Can't you bother someone else?" I groaned, shifting to rest my head in Alex's lap. He fiddled with my hair.
"No one else is awake though."
"I was sleeping too, you know."
"But I love you and you love me."
"Fine. Five more minutes of sleep."
"Deal."
I giggled before closing my eyes and dozing off for five more minutes. Alex woke me up again by lifting my head off of his lap.
"I'm hungry," Alex whispered.
"'Kay, fine," I yawned, stretching my arms while smacking Alex in the face.
"What was that for?" He asked, rubbing his head.
"That's for waking me up."
We got up and headed to the kitchen and started to eat some chips and salsa when we saw Peggy emerge from the living room. "Hey, guys," she whispered.
"Sup," I said, shoving more chips into my mouth.
"Hey," Alex said, rifling through the cabinets in search of more food. He eventually opened the fridge and started to microwave some leftover pizza. "Anybody want pizza?"
"Yeah, gimme two slices of pepperoni," I said.
"I'll have five pieces of cheese pizza," Peggy said excitedly. My mouth fell open.
"Five?!" I gaped.
"What? I'm hungry," she said simply, arms hanging loosely by her sides.
"Whatever. Anyways, Lexi, when do you want to come over?"
"Um, I don't know. Is next Friday okay?" Alex said, placing a plate of pizza in front of me.
I grabbed one and took a bite. "My dad is on a business trip and won't be back in another month," I said with a mouthful of pizza.
"Nice."
"You two should go to the Valentine's Dance together," Peggy said, shoving a handful of chips in her mouth before taking a bite of a slice of cold pizza. She spit it out and yelled, "WHAT THE HELL? WHY IS MY PIZZA COLD?"
Lafayette jumped up from his spot on the couch and fell on his head. Hercules stayed asleep along with Angelica and Eliza. I guess they are used to Peggy yelling. Herc just sleeps through everything. "What's going on?" Lafayette asked, rubbing his head as he made his way to the kitchen.
"Um," I said.
"Alex here didn't heat my pizza up and now it's cold and I ate it!" Peggy yelled.
Lafayette held in a laugh. "Uh, Peggy? You do know that Alex does that to everyone?"
"This is the first time he's done it to me!"
"Peggy, chill."
"We should watch another movie," I said to break the tension with Peggy and her cold pizza.
"FROZEN 2," Alex declared, running to the living room and shoving another disc into the DVD player.
As the movie started, Alex laid next to me and rested his head on my chest, wrapping his arms around my torso. I smiled and rested my head on his and wrapped my arm around his shoulders. "Are you two dating yet?" Laf asked sternly. We both shook our heads no, looking at each other with confused looks. I almost failed to hold in my laugh. I said almost.
"What the hell are you guys doing right now?" Herc said lazily, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
"INTO THE UNKNOWN! INTO THE UNKNOOOWN! INTO THE UNKNAAAAOOOOOAAAOOOWN!" Me, Alex, Peggy, and Lafayette screeched, causing Herc to fall onto the floor cursing underneath his breath. Angelica and Eliza woke up, but not abruptly.
"Actually, Laf, considering your question earlier about if the Lams ship has sailed-" Peggy started.
"Lams?!" Alex asked, arms still wrapped around me.
"L for Laurens, AM for Hamilton, and S from Laurens," Peggy explained, "Anyways, I think they are dating considering that I-"
"Peggy!" I yelled. "We told you to not speak of the Incident again!" She froze.
"Sorry! It slipped," she apologized.
"What 'Incident'?" Angelica pried.
"Nothing," Alex said quickly.
"Doesn't sound like nothing," Herc waggled his eyebrows.
"IT'S NOTHING, OKAY?!" I yelled. Everyone froze and looked at me with blank, unreadable faces. Alex rested a hand on my arm. I stood up and stormed out of the house and sat on the front steps of Herc's house. Placing my face in my hands, I sighed. I'm not normally one to yell.
I stayed on the step for a while before I heard the door open. "John?" I looked up and saw Alex standing there with a sympathetic look on his face.
"Hey. Sorry about yelling back there. I… I don't know. This is harder than I thought," I ranted, pinching the bridge of my nose. Alex sat down next to me and laced his fingers with mine.
"It's fine. It shut everyone up, at least," he chuckled, bringing my hand up to his lips. He placed a kiss on the back of my hand before hugging me.
"I love you, Lexi."
"I love you too, John."
We let go of the hug and sat there in silence for a bit when Alex said cheerily, "I'm hungry."
I laughed and walked into the house. "Of course you are," I giggled as we headed into the house to get Alex some food.
A/N: so this is kind of a filler chapter, but it shows how their plan is working. Please review!
