Here we are again with another chapter. This won't be much longer so that means we are getting closer to the end of this. How will it play out? This chapter is going to be a bit longer from what I can tell so please enjoy and leave a review.
"Tony you are a reasonable guy, just give me the schematics to the iron man suit and no one has to get hurt" Hammer says
Tony looks around to everyone on the main floor of the Triskelion. Everyone is shaking their heads. Tony can read everyone's expressions except for the agent next to Coulson, she just stands there glaring at the screen.
"Okay Tony, I will give you a few hours to consider, if you agree I will give you Potts here in the condition she is in but if you refuse I will kill her today and then you will have nothing and no one but a few agents and a PA system to keep you company for the rest of your life" Hammer says before the screen goes dark.
"Well isn't he a load of fun" Fury says.
"I know, he has quite an attitude. Last time he wasn't the brains of the operation" Coulson says walking up to Nick. May stands there, with nothing to say. As Tony observes her he can see she is judging the conversation.
"I'm sorry but with this one standing here so quiet and you-" Tony says looking at Phil.
"I know it is a lot to take in, but in the interest of time we have none to explain this." Coulson says walking back over to his team. "I want daisy and Fitz on surveillance, see if you can hack any satellite networks and get eyes on the building within the hour of us arriving. If we can't find them maybe we can see where they were headed" Coulson said to his group.
Both Daisy and Fitz nod and head up to the front of the room and begin using the computers to start hacking any networks.
"Sir what would you like us to be doing" May says to Fury
"Ah she finally speaks, she's quiet. You know being an agent does not mean you have to be silent" Tony says. May can only stare at him. Instead of staying put she walks up to Tony "I am here right now to help because Fury asked. This is a personal mission and you do not have the drive to make the hard call which is why we are here" May says back in a harsh tone. She knows she struck a nerve when Tony opens his mouth to speak, and yet nothing comes out because he knows she is right.
"Look I know I am emotional when it comes to Pepper because he is using her to get to me but I will save her without sacrificing the one thing Hammer can use to hurt more people than he already has so, Agent, I will do what needs to be done to save my girlfriend from a psychopath" Tony says walking away. Clint and Natasha follow Tony out to the hallway.
"You know for what it's worth I never liked her. Since Bahrain May has never been the same" Natasha says handing Tony the file on Coulson's team.
Tony opens it and reads the document on May that details what went down years go with the inhuman girl that was crossed off. "She-"
"Yeah, she makes the hard call when no one else can" Natasha says walking away.
Knowing how dangerous she is would make her the perfect weapon to finding Pepper but it also comes with the risk that she would put Peppers life on the line to take Hammer out. Walking back into the main room he sees that everyone is gathered back at the computers. "We found where they went" Coulson said.
"It looks that within 10 minutes of us arriving they cleared out with everything and everyone. They headed across Washington across the border of Idaho into Montana. But the signal feed cuts out in the middle of nowhere. It is the best lead we have" Daisy says showing the feed of the cars heading towards where the signal cut off.
"Okay I say we start there and head the direction they were last seen" Coulson says.
Before they head out of the room the screen turns back on, "Well where are we all going?" Hammer asks over the screen.
"To go get our dance shoes cleaned, you know the usual thing we do here" Fury says.
"Okay enough games, I want to talk with Tony"
Fury says there, the only one on camera "and why should I allow that?" He asks.
"Because I have someone who wants a word with him" Hammer says, he moves aside to show Pepper sitting in the chair awake.
"Tony?" Pepper calls out. Tony turns around and looks at the screen, everyone around him shakes their heads to tell him not to get on the screen. "At this time I think it would be best to give him what he wants. I think that it is time to turn over the suit, end this and we can go back to Dubai" Pepper says in a calm voice, yet slightly shaky.
Tony walks onto the screen and tears begin to roll down Peppers face, "Tony. You have to end this. I do not want to date a man in a meta suit, I want a normal man" Pepper continues trying to hold her composure.
"I do not believe it" Tony says walking closer to the screen.
"Well believe it Stark"
Hearing her say Stark instead of Tony hurt him, he knew that she did not mean it. It was a tactic to get him to come in with the suit.
"Okay, tell me where you are and I will bring you the suit Pepper and we can go away" Tony says. Pepper looks at Tony and he can see she slightly shakes her head.
Everyone looks at each other.
"Well that took less time than I expected, if you are serious I will meet with you" Hammer says stepping in front of Pepper.
Tony looks at everyone, "You know what, no deal. Because I know Pepper would never just tell me to give up. Not unless she was forced to and by the looks of it she is"
"Stark, stand down" May says
"Alright then, Michael take her away"
Tony watches as Michael drags her up and pulls her away, Pepper turns and looks at Tony as she is dragged away.
"Hold up Hammer" Tony says "I am not done"
"Really?" Hammer says
"You want the suit, fine but I don't want her as a treat to dangle in front of me" Tony says.
Hammer sits down and leans back in the metal chair. "What did you have in mind?" Hammer asks Tony.
"Something I should have done days ago" Tony says…
That is where I am going to leave it. Setting this up has been a lot of fun since restarting this project. I can't wait to finish it. Only a few more chapters and then we will be done with this story and I can continue onto the next one. Let me know what you think.
