Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story. This one about StarCraft. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Star Craft. Blizzard and a few others do.

Everyone could hate Spectres. The ghost like commandos were considered sociopaths, beasts with no leash.

It wasn't entirely untrue… But Caelum? The Spectre currently on the run from the Dominion? He liked to consider himself a mercenary, a soldier free from the board.

"Where the hell did, he go?" Caelum heard as he looked at the group of marines. He made sure his AGR-14 rifle was still finely upon his back. "Spread out! Find him! These freaks are more dangerous then Zerg!" The Marine barked to his comrades as they began to fan out.

Caelum hummed. More deadly then the alien species that had become akin to a plague then anything?

"Keep dreaming, jackass." Caelum muttered before vanishing into the shadows. "Dominion idiots shut down the project… Why? Because they feared we wouldn't take orders from people we didn't feel like bowing to?" Caelum questioned to himself while cracking his neck.

Caelum knew for a fact that this location wasn't safe. There were dozens of Dominion soldiers in this area. If he stayed? All his skill and experience would be for nothing against them.

Still? Caelum felt like weakening the Dominion just a bit more before making it to his dropship. He rubbed at his brain with annoyance.

"Damn old man." Caelum muttered before cloaking. He remembered his self-given assignment. There was a Dominion factory here creating weapons and arming their hellish war effort.

Granted? Caelum knew for a fact that he was no saint either.

"But at least I admit what I am…" Caelum muttered to himself while sliding down into the shadows. He drew his rifle and continued to sneak around. "Nobody has the gall to admit that when it comes to themselves." Caelum added.

He kept to the shadows. Caelum trusted his cloak about as much as he trusted in his weapon. Gear could be tricked, instinct could not.

Caelum turned to the sound of footsteps. He turned to look at the line of Dominion marines. He backflipped into the shadows.

The Marines marched by, either not hearing… Or mistaking the slight footsteps as something like a beast.

"I'm starting to wonder if they even put good security up in this place or not." Caelum muttered while looking upon the soldiers.

He felt a small tinge of fear from himself and cursed. Fear was good, it kept him alert. Still? Caelum hated being afraid of the Dominion, they could bleed. They could be killed; it was as simple as that.

"Commander?" Caelum heard from his suit's communicator. "We need to leave soon. The Dominion is snooping around and starting to figure out we're onto something." Caelum heard the voice add.

It was one of his men. Caelum sighed and put an ear to his communicator.

"Then get back to the ship." Caelum ordered the soldier. "I'll be done soon and we can get out of here. Last thing we want to do is give ourselves away." Caelum added as he aimed his rifle.

Part of Caelum knew the very idea of his bullets cutting through one of the helmets the marines wore? Slim to none, Caelum did know he could still kill the armored soldiers.

"I feel like I'm in a damn spy movie." Caelum muttered to himself and aimed down the trigger. He wanted blood, and he would have it.

"Say goodnight, leatherneck." Caelum muttered before squeezing the trigger. A burst of bullets exited the rifle while they flew at the soldier.

Caelum watched as the glass shattered. The soldier collapsed to the ground.

"I'm starting to wonder how horrible that armor is." Caelum muttered while look at the fallen Dominion soldier. "Seriously, they should invest in better gear." Caelum added and turned before scaling the building behind him.

Part of his ever-shifting thoughts brought him back to what happened to the ship in orbit. They had only once chance to the return to the ship and leave… No more and CERTAINLY no less than that.

"We're going to die on this god forsaken planet." Caelum stated to himself before hearing a noise.

The sound of a gun being aimed at him. Caelum hissed with annoyance and rolled to the side as someone opened fire at him.

Caelum aimed his rifle at the source of the gunfire.
