Saving Neopia
In this chapter, our heroes will put an end to Snotty's Mother's crazy plan...because you know, the Villains of Darkness decided to give them a hand.
But unfortunately this will cost them time to prepare themselves for Deluge...will they be able to stop him from eating Shuriken?
Chapter 15: City Rampage
As usual, there were two Neopets reporting the news for today, in this case, an Acara ad a Bruce...even though Deluge had devoured the previous two news reporters for dinner as well as much of the cameraneopets.
"Welcome to another fine day at Neopia Central. We assure you that the slime monster that has been eating Neopets is long gone and that absolutely nothing bad is going to happen today." assured the Bruce.
"Ah yes...absolutely nothing is going to go wrong today! You can be absolutely sure of that!" agreed the Acara.
Suddenly, a Usul came by to inform the two about the monster rampaging throughout Neopia Central.
"Oh c'mon!" bellowed the Bruce.
The two Neopets then reluctantly explained to the audience about an enormous Grarrl that was destroying everything in sight...and for some reason, there was a green Blumaroo riding it.
"I wonder why exactly she would be interested in riding that...it must be incredibly vicious..." questioned the Acara.
"Maybe she's giving the beast commands?" inquired the Bruce. "If so, I wonder why she wants to destroy Neopia Central so much..."
"Me too." agreed the Acara.
Suddenly, the ferocious Grarrl stepped on the news station, leaving an enormous hole in its wake.
"We didn't have insurance!" bellowed the Bruce.
Shortly afterwards, a rainbow screen appeared on the television set, much to the disappointment of Cherry's family, who were watching the news at the time.
"Oh dear. It looks like the mutant Grarrl destroyed the news station." said Cherry's Mother.
"Now where are we going to get up-to-date news?" inquired Cherry's Father.
"Maybe we could go get a newspaper?" questioned Cherry's brother.
"Not with that monster running around." answered Cherry's Mother.
Meanwhile, Snotty's Mother was having the time of her life wrecking the city using the mutated Grarrl she had created. She wondered how many Neopoints it would take to repair all the damage she had done.
"Nothing can stop me now!" she exclaimed.
"What makes you say that?" inquired Bloony.
Suddenly, a laser blast hit Doomzilla, causing her to nearly fall off.
"What the-" questioned the green Blumaroo. Curious, she looked behind her and noticed that a yellow Blumaroo robot was standing in front of her and her mutated Grarrl.
"I thought I made you into my slave!" she bellowed.
"Let's just say I had a little outside help..." answered the yellow Blumaroo.
Curious, Snotty's Mother looked around and noticed that there was a green Blumaroo robot in the vincity as well. She then realized what had happened.
"I can't believe it! My own son betrayed me! What were the chances of that?!" exclaimed Snotty's Mother.
"You know mother, maybe if you treated me with respect instead of making me your chew toy, maybe then I wouldn't have backstabbed you!" pointed out Snotty.
"Enough! If you insist on betraying me my son...then I'll make you wish you didn't!" she screamed.
Suddenly, her mutant Grarrl spat a glob of acid at the robot Snotty and the rest of the Villains of Darkness were piloting. It apparently was capable of melting through metal, because the robot began to sizzle because of it.
"You're attacking your own son? What are you thinking?!" questioned Bloony.
"Silence! I'm going to wreck your robot too!" answered the matriach. Immediately, Doomzilla went to stomp on Bloony's robot...but thankfully he got out of the way and countered with a punch, toppling the Grarrl over, nearly flattening Snotty's Mother in the process.
"How dare you!" bellowed Snotty's Mother.
Snotty's robot then began to stomp on the Grarrl, hoping to weaken it some more. Unfortunately, Doomzilla caught on to what he was doing, and he promptly grabbed the robot's legs.
"Hey! Let go!" demanded Snotty.
It then threw Snotty's Robot at Bloony's as hard as it could, causing both of them to take significant damage. At this point, Bloony began to become worried.
"That Grarrl is really strong...I'm starting to wonder just how long we can hold out against it." pointed out Bloony.
"Me too...do you have anything we can use against it, Marvin?" inquired Cherry.
"Oddly enough, I don't. Weird.
"I guess today just isn't our lucky day then. And I somehow get the feeling this is going to get worse..." agreed Ursula.
"Hey...um, Heroes Of Light, just wanted to let you know that the Grarrl is charging right towards you." warned Snotty.
"What?!" exclaimed Bloony.
As it turns out, Doomzilla was in fact charging towards the Heroes of Light...and considering how strong the Grarrl was, that wasn't going to be particularly pleasant for them.
Immediately, Bloony sidestepped out of the way, and the Grarrl once again fell over. Bloony then went over to attack it once again...
When suddenly it rose back up and set the robot on fire with its fire breath. This unsurprisingly caused the Heroes Of Light to panic.
"What are we going to do? We're going to become barbecue if we don't put the fire out!" exclaimed Cherry.
Marvin quickly pulled out a fire extinguisher to put out the fire...
...but unfortunately he couldn't activate it.
"Why are these so hard to use?" questioned the Mynci.
"So people don't play with them?" answered Ursula.
Fortunately for the Heroes Of Light, the Villains of Darkness noticed their current situation.
"Hmm, it looks like their robot is on fire...you think we should do something?" inquired Snotty.
"Haven't they been our enemies up until recently?" pointed out Redtooth.
"True...but I don't think I ever wanted them to end up being roasted...although interestingly enough I do like seeing their robot smoulder..." said the Blumaroo.
"Rocky think we should put out the fire!" answered Rocky.
"Yeah...but how are we supposed to do that? Toss it into a lake or something?" inquired Jennifer.
But as it turned out, there was a lake nearby...right outside Neopia Central.
"Guess it's our lucky day...although I can't say the same for The Heroes of Light right now." she noted.
Snotty picked up Bloony's robot and tossed it into the nearby lake. This thankfully extinguished the flames...but as it turns out, there was a flaw in the plan.
"The robot is flooding!" exclaimed Marvin.
"We're gonna drown!" bellowed Cherry.
"Oh dear..." thought Snotty.
Thankfully, he picked up the robot and brought it back towards the shore so that none of the Heroes of Light were sent to a watery grave.
"I wonder where the Grarrl went..." questioned Redtooth.
Suddenly, Doomzilla jumped over to where the two robots were standing.
"How many strange powers does this mutant Grarrl have?" inquired Bloony.
"A lot of them, apparently..." answered Cherry.
"Give it everything we got!" exclaimed Snotty.
And so the two robots began to open fire at Doomzilla...but unfortunately, it turned out that it had the ability to heal itself.
"Is this thing invincible or something?" questioned Redtooth.
"That's what my mother always told me..." inquired Snotty.
"Wait, this thing is a mutant Grarrl right? Maybe we could toss a morphing potion at it to turn back to normal..." said Rocky.
"But where exactly are we supposed to get that?" questioned Snotty.
"I've got a morphing potion if you want it...I stole it from Kauvara..." stated Jennifer.
The other three Villains of Darkness looked at the red Usul.
"What? I thought it would be useful..." questioned the thief.
"Well, we've only got one shot, so we better make this count..." said Snotty.
Fortunately for the Villains of Darkness, the Heroes of Light were currently keeping Doomzilla busy. Unfortunately for the Heroes of Light, their robot was getting totaled.
"Some heroes you ultimately turned out to be! It's time for your light to be extinguished!" exclaimed Snotty's Mother.
"Why does this mutant have to be so strong?" questioned Bloony.
"At least it's finally run out of powers to use on us..." agreed Cherry.
"Is this the end? At least one of our adventures was a success..." answered Marvin.
"You mean the time we stopped Lord Cataclysm?" inquired Ursula.
"Yeah...those were the days." nodded Cherry.
"Ready, aim, fire!" exclaimed Snotty.
Suddenly, Snotty's robot shot a morphing potion towards the mutant Grarrl. Immediately, it began to shrink, until it transformed into a harmless green Grarrl, that promptly ran away after seeing the destruction that had occurred.
"What?! No! No! No!" bellowed Snotty's Mother, unable to believe what had just happened.
Shortly afterwards, the police came by to arrest the mad scientist.
"You'll pay for this, Heroes Of Light! I'll get you if it's the last thing I ever do! As for my son, don't think this will go unpunished!" bellowed the scientist.
"Whatever." said both Bloony and Snotty simultaneously.
A few minutes later...
"You know, maybe you guys aren't so bad after all...believe it or not, I don't think we could have taken down that Grarrl alone..." said Bloony.
"Funny, I was about to say the same thing..." answered Snotty.
"I guess we'll be parting ways down...it's a shame, for a moment I actually enjoyed working with you...then again knowing how much you attacked us in our last adventure maybe we will cross paths again." said the Blumaroo.
"Yeah...right now we're looking for an Acara and a Scorchio who are collecting elemental crystals or something...we're not sure where they went though..." exclaimed Snotty.
"Well, I heard that some sort of water temple in Maraqua was uncovered recently...they said that it was dangerous and that people simply shouldn't barge in..." explained Bloony.
"Oh...I guess they might be heading there then...but how are we going to get down there without drowning?" questioned Jennifer.
"Have you ever tried getting diving gear?" inquired Marvin.
The Villains of Darkness sweatdropped.
"Why didn't we think of that?" asked Snotty.
"I guess we can pursue them then..." nodded Redtooth. "But still, where are we going to get diving gear?
Their question was abruptly answered when Marvin gave them some diving gear.
"Where do you even get that stuff?" inquired Rocky.
Marvin simply shrugged. "To be honest, I'm not quite sure either." answered the Mynci.
"Now if you excuse us we're going to stop a horrible slime monster from eating Neopians." said Bloony.
"Wait, what?"" inquired Snotty.
The Heroes of Light simply said no more and started flying their robot away from Neopia Central and towards Mystery Island.
"Did you know that those robots could fly?" inquired Redtooth.
"Don't look a gift Uni in the mouth guys...let's just fly this thing towards Maraqua, shall we?" suggested Snotty.
"But it's not an aquatic robot..." pointed out Rocky.
Snotty promptly facepalmed.
"Let's fly it to an abovewater location that's near Maraqua then...by the way, I wonder what's going to happen to my mother? I'm actually a little worried to be honest." answered the green Blumaroo.
"Well, one thing's for sure, we won't have to worry about her ever again." stated Redtooth.
Meanwhile at the police station...
"Officer Peanuts! I'm once again reporting for duty!" exclaimed Officer Lenny.
"Yeah yeah whatever...did any of the police officers manage to capture the Villains of Darkness?" inquired Officer Peanuts.
"Well, we managed to capture one of them..." answered the Lenny.
"Good enough..." nodded Officer Peanuts.
Immediately, Wart and Gorf came in, both of them dragging in Snotty's Mother by her arms.
"Unhand me!" demanded Snotty's Mother.
The two Quiggles nodded, and tossed her at Officer Peanut's stumpy feet.
"So, you thought you could hide from me by crossdressing, did you? Personally I think you actually look kind of good in a dress...but nice try! You're going away for a long time, Snotty! Have fun in prison!" exclaimed Officer Peanuts.
"I'm his mother, actually." answered Snotty's Mother.
Officer Peanuts raised an eyebrow.
"Wait, so you're telling me that your his mother? I'll have you know that your son is a wanted criminal..." exclaimed the police chief.
"If you want I can help you hunt him down..." said the mother of evil, already plotting revenge against Snotty.
"Very well then...where do you think he could have gone?" said Officer Peanuts.
Snotty's Mother promptly pulled out a radar device.
"According to the tracking chip I installed on my son...he appears to be heading towards Maraqua...I don't know how he's going to breathe down there, but anyways..."
"That's all I need to know." interrupted the police chief. "Now if only my force could breathe underwater..."
"I have some Maraquan potions if you want them...now if only we had someone to fetch them..." replied Snotty's Mother.
Suddenly, the duo began to hear the sound of a chainsaw revving.
"Huh?" questioned Officer Peanuts.
Shortly afterwards, they noticed that there was a chainsaw cutting through one of the walls of the police station.
"What? How dare Neopets try to vandalize my police station! I'm going to crush them like a Mootix!" bellowed the Elephante.
"Funny, can a chainsaw even cut through a brick wall?" inquired Snotty's Mother.
"I'm here to save you, mistress!" exclaimed a voice outside.
"Wait a minute, I recognize that voice..." claimed the scientist.
"Who is it? I'm going to book him for this!" bellowed the police officer.
Suddenly, the wall collapsed, revealing none other than Snotty's Mother's assistant, Steve.
"Ah! Steve! Perfect!" exclaimed the green Blumaroo.
"Who is he?" inquired Officer Peanuts.
"He's my assistant." answered the mad scientist.
Immediately, Snotty's Mother told Steve to grab as many Maraquan morphing potion from her laboratory as he could find.
"Wasn't it totaled by that mutant Grarrl you created?" questioned Steve.
"Actually, it did minimal damage. Did you think I would design a monster that would wreck my entire laboratory?" questioned Snotty's Mother.
The Kacheek shrugged and decided to do as he was told.
Officer Peanuts let out an evil laugh. Now that his police force could breathe underwater, where else could they hide?
Meanwhile at the Neopets Ski Lodge...
As it turns out, Hunny and Bunni were both giving Willis a relaxing back rub. Unsurprisingly, he was loving every bit of it.
However, as of late he had some rather strange thoughts...was there someone out there that was similar yet different than him? Was that particular someone bent on defeating a group similar to the Heroes of Light? Did that particular someone have a group also similar to his yet rather different?
"Maybe I'm losing my marbles..." he murmured.
A few minutes later, he decided to head back to his office and read a copy of the Neopian Times. He in fact regularly read the newspaper in case the police ever announced that they were planning a raid on any sort of criminal group. Thankfully, for some strange reason, they never bothered with his. In fact, they were currently occupied on a group known as the Villains of Darkness.
"The Villains of Darkness? Isn't that the exact opposite of the Heroes of Light?" questioned Willis.
As it turns out, he had recently recruited a scientist known as Bouvier Onyx Dementia to assist him in this particular goal...and that hopefully together they would be able to bring the scoundrels to justice.
"I'm feeling a rather strange sense of deja vu..." thought Willis, recalling how he had called upon a colleague of his for a similar purpose. He personally wondered if the Villains of Darkness would be interested in joining his gang of thugs.
He then remembered how he wanted to make the Heroes of Light pay for messing with his criminal organization, so he decided to check on Captain Sharptooth and his pirate crew.
"What do ye want from me, me hearty?" inquired the captain.
"Did you find the Heroes of Light?" asked Willis.
Captain Sharptooth sadly shook his head. "Me crew is still looking for the scallywags..."
"Well, keep looking for them then. Seeing though you marooned them I think they're likely still on the island somewhere...by the way, do you ever feel that we have lawful counterparts somewhere? You know, someone that's similar to us yet are bent at keeping the peace rather than disturbing it?" inquired the Bruce.
"I've been starting to feel the same way, me hearty..." said Captain Sharptooth.
"So I'm not going crazy, then?" inquired Willis.
"Eh, probably not. By the way, what ever happened to yer talking Uni head?" inquired the Jetsam.
"He kept annoying me...so I shoved a sock in his mouth." answered the Bruce.
"Mmmph mph mmmph!" exclaimed the muted Uni head.
"I think ye should take that gag out...I actually liked the little landlubber." said Captain Sharptooth.
"Oh, did you? Fine." inquired Willis as he took the sock out of his mouth.
"Hooray! I can talk again! Woohoo!" exclaimed the talking Uni head.
"Yeah yeah yeah, keep your voice down." answered the Bruce.
Meanwhile at Mystery Island...
As it turns out, due to how big Mystery Island was, Captain Sharptooth's crew had split up in order to search for the Heroes of Light. Hopefully they would be able to find at least one member of their roster. However, at the moment they were searching for buried treasure rather than do their job like they were supposed to.
"Where could those landlubbers possibly be?" inquired one of the pirates as he began to dig.
"I'm tired...I want to go home and see how much booty I have..." complained another pirate.
"Those scallywags have got to be around here somewhere...but for now let's look for some Dubloons, shall we?" said one of the pirates.
But as it ultimately turned out, they would find someone else.
"Pirates, huh? I wonder if they'll taste like seafood..." thought Deluge as he suddenly emerged from the sand.
"Shiver me timbers!" the trio of pirates screamed.
Unfortunately for the pirates, they chose to use their cutlasses to try to defend themselves...not a smart choice when their enemy was a giant slime monster. Immediately, their weapons were swallowed, along with the three pirates themselves.
At this point, Deluge had searched much of the island...he had the feeling that he would find his prey soon...he then noticed a sign directing tourists towards the Mystery Island Training School...and suddenly he got an idea where his target was.
"Perhaps this is where he's hiding..." thought Deluge as he headed towards the school.
Uh-oh! Deluge has almost found Shuriken! Can the Heroes of Light find him before the horrible slime monster does?
Also, Snotty's Mother has teamed up with Officer Peanuts...not good news for the Villains of Darkness. With her technology now at his disposal, will they be able to face the police force like they have before?
And will Captain Sharptooth succeed at locating the Heroes of Light? Yes, you'll have to wait for the next chapter...but hopefully I can keep you pumped until then...am I right?
