Sue stared at him.

"Jack, have you gone mad? I have been deaf since I was eighteen months old!"

"Head injuries have had stranger consequences."

"Me, hearing? Jack, you cannot be serious."

"Your doctors were never able to find a cause for your deafness. Maybe something changed with the injury…"

Sue simply shook her head.

"No, I am not - "

"Darling." Jack cut her off, cupping her face in his hands. He mouthed the words, "All I ask is that you go see the doctor and check out the possibility. Please."

Against her better judgment, Ms. Thomas nodded.
