"Somewhere in the cutters land armies of ants built up. It looked very similar to the beginning of the clone wars with millions of clones lining up ready for war. It was the same with ants. There were millions of ants lined up in parade formation. The ants were readying up for war. Not with the humans but with the stingers. They had become more diplomatic so they needed a reason to fight. But they could still play the political game. They would be ready for war if war came./p
"The warrior had left to go back to the Overland. So Cajet had all the time in the world to manipulate Luxa. And with no one who suspected a thing he would not need to worry about anything. Everyone was pawn in his game. Soon he would start his base plan. But not yet it was time to wreak chaos on Regalia. He decided to head up to the Regalian palace. He would talk to Luxa If he could. He could turn her against Gregor. Perhaps it might be easier than he thought it would. He rode the platform up to top of the palace as he had no flyer with him. The guards at the top nodded to him and he walked past giving a quick nod. No one could stop him. He walked through the hallways when he saw a flyer, Artemis he thought her name was but she was with a boy who looked about 18. It wasn't Gregor it was some other Overlander who had jet black hair. But who was this Overlander? He had to know. Cajet went up to the bat and human who were kind of obviously sneaking around a bit. "Who are you?" Cajet asked. The man turned and looked at him surprised at being seen by someone. "Uh my name is X" the man said. "Hello Cajet, this Is my friend an Overlander" Artemis said. "And what are you sneaking around for?" Cajet said. "What, we are not sneaking at all we were going to visit the Queen" the bat said. No this was his time to be alone with Luxa. He wouldn't allow them to get in his way. "Oh yes I think the Queen is in the dining hall right now" Cajet said lying. His silver, gray hair looking shiny as ever. He was unique he had blue eyes unlike most Underlanders. "Thanks" Artemis said and the two of them went off in another direction. Now it was off the the Queens room. He had seen her going down the royal hallway a while back but he had to take care of something. Cajet always kept a knife hidden away in his sleeve. He knocked on the royal suite. "Come in" came her voice. He opened the door. Luxa was reading a scroll which she put away as he entered the room. He might sneak around and look at the scroll if he had the opportunity to. "What is it?" Luxa said. "What do you mean?" Cajet sad. "I mean why did you come to my place" Luxa said. "Just to spend time with you my Queen, I mean I really have nothing else to attend to for the moment" Cajet said smoothly. "That's nice of you Cajet but I'm afraid I really have nothing to offer you" Luxa told him. Cajet smirked and thought about how she was just a pawn in his game. He had plans for her but if they failed he always had a backup plan. "Well, we could tell stories about adventures we have been on, I have an idea what about you tell me about the adventures you have had with the young Warrior" Cajet said wanting to learn more about Gregor, to learn his weaknesses and anything he could use against him. Cajet didn't want a fight but he was a skilled fighter. /p
"From the moment he met Cajet he didn't trust him. He didn't trust many people, he had a few people he trusted his life with but no many of those. However this feeling of distrust was greater. He had known people like Cajet. Handsome, smart, perfect on the outside but on the inside it was hard to tell. A man like that could smooth talk his way to anyone. Strike a deal with a broke salesman. Do anything they were willing to use their reputation and influence on. X was the opposite most of the time he was cold, silent and tough. But even that was a lie. On the inside X was nothing more than a nerd. He had grown up with technology since he was a boy. His mother had been a hacker in the very beginning of the internet and a good one. His mom taught him the trade. He was a very proficient hacker now. He also learned a lot about computers and a bit about robotics. So technology was everything to him. He missed his mother. He didn't know where she was now but he missed her. He had never known his father. Never had any siblings it was always him and her. His mother had gone on a business trip a few years back. His mom had never come back. But someone had been paying the rent for the house, the school and his credit card. He knew she was helping him live. She was watching him he was sure of it but he could never prove it. Now here he was in the Underland wandering around a palace with a bat and no WiFi, no signal and only his spare laptop, phone and remote for his deployable spy oh how he would love to be back at his house where his main computer terminal was. He hadn't met this Queen yet but he would definitely keep an eye on her and more importantly Cajet. Good thing he hD his deployable spy. It was a small ball thing with a camera on it. It did not need anything but a signal from the remote to operate. /p
"Gregor walked home from a stroll. He had hung out at the park wanting to go back down but knew he had to be up here for a while to make it seem like he was around regularly. He had sat down and read a book. It was called Gorgia the strange lander. It was indeed a strange book and a really good one at that. He thought it summed up some of the adventures he had been on. Strange as he had never told anyone about them but he forgot about it soon after. When Gregor got home he looked in the mirror. Something he had not done in a while except to shave. But this time he was just staring at himself. Just to see what he looked liked he had been different even since he had come back from the war and now he had forgotten what he truly looked like. He looked in the mirror saw his kind of dark skin. He was getting older. He looked at himself and for once saw a happy person. His life had taken a change for the better and Gregor was not going to let the change go at least not yet. But he probably also needed a job in the overland. He did have an idea for one though. He could work for if she would have him and he was sure she would let him work there. He would need to apply or he could just go over and ask her about a job there. But he also needed to know the salary. One day on a rather boring afternoon he headed over to her restaurant to ask her about applying for a job there. He walked into the doors and met an employee. Her name was Jan. "Can you tell me where is please?" Gregor said. "Yes she is is in her office in the back" the employee said pointing towards the office. He opened the door into the hallway away from the dining area. Random boxes of supplies were stacked everywhere. He found the office as it was the only place in the semi dark hallway with a light one. Gregor walked in on Mrs. C doing some paperwork. "Hey " Gregor said. "Oh hi Gregor" Mrs. C said. "I was wondering if I could get a job here" Gregor asked straight out asking the question. "Of course you can" Mrs. C said. "Uh what are the wages here?" Gregor asked. "You start off at 13$ an hour when you get promoted to waiter you get 18$ an hour, chefs get 25$ an hour and managers get 30$ an hour. Gregor had to admit those were some pretty fair wages. "I'll take the job" Gregor said. "Okay well you'll need to fill out this employee paper work and I'll make sure to get you a good work schedule when you are up here in the Overland" Mrs. C said. "Thanks your the best" Gregor said. In some ways Mrs.C was like an aunt or a grandma. But that was a good thing. Gregor would work when he could and would get paid for the work that he would do which was a fair deal. It meant he could drop in and take over someone else's shift and they could go do something else. He liked the idea honestly. It was a good thing to have a job.
