Congratulations Joe Biden - I hope you have a great presidency and I hope you're better than that blustering imbecile you've replaced.
Anyway, as I was hearing the news about Biden's victory I was watching the finale of the 2019 series of the Demon Headmaster, watching the scene with Nicholas Gleaves' Headmaster and Terrance Hardiman's Headmaster, listening to that spooky, sci-fi music...and my brain sparked with the idea. I decided to write this quick little one-shot as a result.

The President who can keep order can rule the world.
Unable to contain the smug, delighted smile off of his otherwise expressionless face, his dark tinted glasses hiding his eyes, the new president of the United States of America listened to the cheer and approving hollers from the crowd.
As he walked to the podium, the newly elected president didn't offer any acknowledgement to the crowds - they had served their purpose in ensuring he was elected. They were now no longer of any consequence to him and he truly no longer cared about what they felt about his upcoming policies now he was in the White House, just like he genuinely did not care about the infantile ideologies of both the Democrats and the Republicans; they were both pathetic wastes of time. But he could not erase the smile of triumph from his features; he and others like him never really showed emotion, but they were capable of it.
They had been waiting a long time for this...
A very long time. Ever since the defeats at the hands of Dinah Hunter and Lizzie Warren, they had needed to refine their ideas for placing the human race under their guidance and make them ordered, more efficient. And now he was the new president of the United States, an unprecedented achievement since he had decided it was no longer feasible for them to remain in the shadows.
When he had finally come to stand before the podium and took a moment to not only savour the moment but to look in the cameras to begin his speech, knowing it would be broadcasted across America, but also all over the planet which was one of the biggest bonuses that could have occurred for him and the others, and after the failure of the operation in Britain with the takeover of the British education system which was so pathetic it didn't really deserve to be called an educational system.
Hazelbrook was in the past.
Now it was time for the future.
And as he thought about the future, mentally reviewing his speech, the new president took the moment further so he could think. The journey to becoming the new President of America hadn't been easy of course; things like this rarely were, but for him and the others it was even less simple. He had been patiently waiting for the past twelve years, managing to use his powers to ensure his entrance remained undetected, using the time spent under the presidencies of Barrack Obama and Donald Trump and Joe Biden for his own benefit.
He had plenty of time.
He and the others were patient, and they knew some master plans to fulfil their desire to bring the Earth and the human race, and besides he had needed the time to create the contacts he knew he would need in order to bid for president, at the same time he had worked hard to build up an image for himself to help make his bid for the presidency more attractive for the American people. It hadn't been easy - with every government on the Earth, there were people who argued against the most logical things for reasons beyond his comprehension, and the Americans were no exception. They constantly talked about democracy, but in truth, they just enjoyed suggesting new plans, and then delightfully dismissing them.
He had stayed in the background; he could have used the opportunities to generate some degree of influence, and he had but for the majority of it he hadn't bothered. In any event, he had been busy with sorting through the groundwork in creating media hubs which he would need to ensure his rise to the presidency went unchallenged, and he had needed a decade in order to put his plan into operation.
He was going to win the US presidential election by using the power he and the others had, hypnotism. It would be on a much grander scale than the time when they had tried to create riots in the streets during the 'Hunky Parker' affair and then later with that DJ, and it would be much more refined of course, but it succeeded because he had looked at the mistakes of the past to ensure he didn't fail this time.
For twelve years he had worked under three different presidents - he had developed a great deal of respect for Obama and Biden - the latter most of all since Biden, despite his physical age, had the mental age and experience needed to clean up the mess left by Trump. He knew he could have taken the presidency in 2020 but he had not done so because he hadn't wanted to waste precious time when he had wanted to put his plans into operation, but it wasn't until the latter that he had made his move. By the time Biden's time was coming to an end, he had managed to ensure the ideas he had needed to be passed through the senate such as the new television sets and the new mobile phone network which spread the subliminal commands through the broadcasts, telling the Americans to vote for him that he had felt in a position to act. He had needed to hypnotise many to ensure the television sets and the media hubs were established in order to generate the spell, but he had passed them through during Obama's final term of office. They had begun work when Trump had been president, using Trump's actions as he threw his weight around, lying about the COVID-19 pandemic and generally acting like a child as a cover so the hubs would be established soon, and they had begun broadcasting halfway through Trump's presidency.
Granted, at first, the subliminal messages had been basic at first in order to create the groundwork
There had been many moments where he had been tempted to step forwards and intervene with Trump when the blustering fool made some stupid mistake or said something unimaginably insane you would not expect to hear a child say anything like that, never mind a man who was supposed to be a businessman and a President of a powerful country and make the fool more disciplined, but he hadn't - it wasn't yet time, and in any case Trump was irrelevant. He had found the man undisciplined, arrogant, and obnoxious.
When Biden had become president, he had made his move while Biden cleaned up the mess made from Trump's ineffective presidency which had made America a complete mess. He hadn't had any problems hypnotising Biden and making him Vice President after manipulating events so then the young woman who was actually most efficient at her job claim she wanted less responsibility. Once he had the role, he had been in the best position to ascend to the presidency. He had used subliminal messages and broadcasted them across the entire country, and from there he had made genuine promises to the people of every state using the resources of his organisation.
When he had become Vice President, he had needed to offer a biography, a fully laid out background that was plausible and efficient, complete with doctored photographs and documents while he made sure to hypnotise people involved in his 'past' to remember him.
It wouldn't stand up to scrutiny of course and it was one of the many reasons why they'd never tried anything like this before on such a scale - putting aside just how difficult it was when the information was now easier to assimilate with the use of the internet, of course - the public you were the more the public wanted to hear of a scandal. But the good news was this plan didn't require him to have the biography stand up to scrutiny, although he had been frustrated with the never-ending attempts of many to find out more about him while he needed to keep his powers a secret until this moment.
He was not going to let someone like Dinah Hunter or Lizzie Warren interfere with the plans, not this time although, with the subliminal messages broadcasting a command for months now to watch the speech of the new president, he doubted there would be one.
"I am the only person who can bring this country to order," he proclaimed clearly, his voice triggering an effect programmed into the minds of the entire nation who were watching the election.
With that, he slipped off his glasses and lifted his head, his gaze beaming directly into the cameras surrounding him and into the faces of the spectators, members of the government, and the journalists from all over the world - speaking of which, there were many television stations around the planet watching this, so his reach was practically infinite.
"Look into my eyes," he ordered, "none of you will look away, or change the channel. You will be watching and listening to me, and to my commands. With my guidance, all of you will soon begin living guided lives…"
As the new president continued with his speech, making the American people recite certain key phrases as he programmed their minds, he smiled inwardly as he wondered how people like Dinah Hunter and her group, and Lizzie Warren were taking this.
They were irrelevant.
They would be powerless against him now, at last, they would have an ordered, efficient world.
The President who could keep order could rule the world.
