Sabine kicked away a small hermit crab nudging at her foot. The cold wave that bit at her toes swept up the assailant as well. She was fond of animals but for some reason so long ago she failed to remember she despises crustaceans and their insect counterparts. Maybe they were alien enough like her, with judging impassive black eyes. Gazing ever upward the sky was ever as obsidian with its cracks spilling out colorful lights, none however where as lovely as her red star her friend had shown her as a child the only thing that they share love for now.

"I didn't expect you so early tonight." A man appeared out of the shadows padding up silently on the white sand beach next to Sabine. He wore unusual clothes even for this backwater village that none-save care to remember. The young man bowed low, his folk always put manners first, right- "I never have seen my moon before daylight." The smile was infectious that she couldn't help return one. She knew what a cold insect she was but he warmed her like a sun.

Folding her hands. "And so you shall not; be wary so the true goddess of the moon not get jealous of your fair words." Laugher answered her. Pulling to her side offering his coat made of curious silk and smelled slightly of verbena, her heart began feeling a little heavier. Desperate as she was, she held back many secrets from him even on their beach rendezvous. Mostly, because she figured what lay between them was on both shores of their beach. And far above there is a star she just can't reach.
