Author's note: This is the backstory of the birth of Scarmanite and his relationship with Phos
Deep within the reaches of space, a large meteorite collides with a comet going at speeds previously thought impossible for an object. The result of the collision is an extremely dense and hard gemstone was made, and it is falling towards earth...or...well whatever is left of it.
When it collided with the land, it sent a rather noticeable shockwave. Gems hardness four and under shattered, gems four point one and up were cracked. Sensei suffered the slightest of cracks, and when the gems went investigate after fixing themselves, they found a gem smack dab in the center of it. This would later be the gem Scarmanite.
Being a hardness ten and seemingly close to Phos. Sensei being the kind person he is, gave Scar the nightmarish task of keeping Phos unshattered.
He is terrified of Rutile, though Rutile actually likes hearing his input. A lot of the non-combatant gems think he's smart, but not smart at the same time. He gives enlightening advice on things, but is completely clueless about what it is he's talking about.
He likes talking with Jade or Euclase whenever he gets the chance. He hasn't really formed an opinion on the diamonds though.
The part below will be a small part about his relationship with Phos.
Phos was talking with Scar watching the sunset.
"So, why don't you want to fight? You have the hardness and skills for it, but you're happy with being my helper." Phos was confused by Scar's choices in life. Scar must not be confident that he's good enough to fight for Sensei.
"Well, my calling is being your partner and protector...even though you're my Senpai. When you become a fighter, which you will, I'll become a fighter." Scar never really planned on leaving Phos' side, born from a sense of loyalty to Phos and Sensei.
"Oh! I-i thought you'd try to get partnered with a different gem once I become a fighter. But the two of us, we'll be the best team ever!" Phos was pretty happy with this.
