'Thoughts'

(With Link)

The blonde haired child woke to the sun shining in his face. He sat up with a groan. He looked out the window to see the other Kokiri children playing. He frowned when he noticed the fairies following the children close by.

'Why don't I have a fairy. Maybe Mido is right. There must be something wrong with me.' He thought sadly.

"Link? Link are you there?" Saria asked.

He smiled at that. His best friend Saria was down there. He quickly changed and left his house. She smiled and waved at him. He felt blessed to have such a great friend like her.

"Hey Link."

"Hey." He climbed down the ladder and went over to her. "How are you?"

"Good. You?" She asked.

"Good." He lied.

She gave him a knowing look. "That's good. Ready to pick some berries?"

"I sure am." He said.

"Good. Oh don't worry about Mido." She said.

"Why?" He asked.

"He's with the Great Deku Tree." She answered. 'Like I was going to let him get away with being such a bully.'

"Oh, okay." He didn't realize Mido was being punished and just thought he was trying to make Link less favorable.

"Well let's go." The green haired girl said.

"Where to, this time?" He asked.

"Lost woods. It's the place I usually hang out in and play my music." She answered as she gave him his basket.

"Oh, they're finally ripe?" He asked.

"Yup~"

"Great. I love the best." He said.

The berries were three different colors. They were blue, pink, and red. The red were always sour while the pinks were always sweet. The blues were both. Link and her loved eating them. Mido hated sour foods so he never stole them from Link. He never knew that the pink ones were sweet as he avoided them all together.

Saria giggled at the starry look on his eyes. "I know."

"Let's go." He said as he grabbed her hand.

"Okay."

The two took off running towards the lost woods. Using their knowledge they made it to Saria's spot. The two began picking the berries. They didn't bother to separate them and soon they managed to fill four baskets full of berries.

"Wow there is a lot." Link said.

"Sure is." Saria agreed.

"I can make some jams from these if you'd like?" Saria's fairy asked Link.

"I would. Thanks North." He smiled at her.

"You're welcome." She said. "Just leave a basket with Saria and I'll make them tonight."

"Alright." North's jam was the best.

"After this we can play hide and seek." Saria suggested.

"Okay." He agreed.

"Just not in the woods." North said.

"Okay." The two agreed.

They left the woods after that. They dropped a basket off at Link's house and the rest were left at Saria's. They then gathered others to play the game.

(Dark Link)

Dark fumed as he watched Link. He was stuck as the boy's shadow and had been since the blonde was a baby. He had no idea why. Link had no idea Dark existed and the shadow had no idea how to communicate with him. He didn't blame Link since he knew the blonde didn't have any knowledge of him and was a really sweet person that would have figured out a way to help Dark if he knew.

'Man that looks like fun.' He thought as he watched. 'Glad Saria is there for him. Wish I was.' He thought bitterly.

He couldn't help but feel bitter. He was stuck watching. Never once had he been allowed to play or even talk to Link. It made the shadow very bitter. He always watched even when Link slept. Shadows don't sleep after all. The only time he wasn't around Link was when there was no shadow and then all Dark knew was darkness. That was what frightened the shadow, darkness.

'Maybe one day I can play with him.' He thought before snorting. 'Yeah right. That will never happen.'
