Chapter 43

Hands

The latch closed on the front door and Alex felt Olivia's hands all over her—on her face, her neck, her hips. Alex's face flushed red, as she had not expected Olivia to come on to her like this in the restaurant. She quickly dropped her oversized bag on the floor and took off her hat, tossing it to the side as she wrapped her arms forcefully around Olivia's neck, running her hands through her short brunette hair. She moaned into Olivia's open mouth as the detective reached over and locked the door, pulling the shade down over the front window. She pulled on Alex's belt loops, beckoning her towards the stairs with a sly smile that only Olivia Benson could wear.

She took Alex's hand and pulled her up the stairs. When they reached the top, she turned on the spot and wrapped her arms around Alex's waist, lifting her in the air in a tight hug as she inhaled the sweet scent of the blonde's perfume. Alex felt her feet return to the ground and she immediately pulled Olivia into one of the most passionate kisses she had ever felt. Her alabaster hands gripped Olivia's face, her thumbs resting slightly under the beautiful golden, but blackened eyes, her hands gripped around the side of her cheekbones. She grew breathless as Olivia's tongue wrestled with her own, and she pulled away to take a breath.

Olivia stared into Alex's eyes—those ice blue eyes she knew so well had become engulfed by black. Desire had overtaken the blonde and Olivia knew that look all too well. Before she could open her mouth to say one word, Alex's body was smashed against hers again, both of them groping the other, tugging each other's shirts and pants. Olivia created a bit of space and removed her own shirt and bra, tossing them on the floor as she returned to Alex to help her out of her jeans.

Before either of them really noticed, they were both naked, save Alex's black lace bra that stood out in stark contrast to her creamy white skin. Alex was lost in Olivia: her golden eyes reflected pure desire, her skin radiated an intimate blush, and her fingertips skimmed over Alex's bare body, eliciting goose bumps from the attorney. Alex took Olivia's hands in her own—she always admired these hands, as they were a complete mystery to Alex. They had comforted children, yet held a gun; wiped away tears and at the same time killed the man who had caused them; they had seen fights, yet consoled a fellow officer after a loss. Alex turned Olivia's hands over in hers and took notice of all of the lines and bumps along them, the crevices and calluses that she smoothed over so delicately.

The blonde lifted Olivia's hand to her lips and softly kissed each of her fingertips, excluding her pinky, which was still splinted. Olivia noticed the change of pace and looked towards Alex, watching her lightly kiss each finger, using her tongue on a few.

"You ok?" She smiled somewhat as she asked this question, already knowing that Alex would say yes.

"Yeah. I just love these hands." She kissed them a final time and then placed them over her breasts, resting them against her bra. Olivia quickly sneaked her hands behind Alex and unfastened the lace garment, tossing it to the side. Her hands fell back onto Alex's breasts, rubbing her thumbs lightly over her hardening nipples. The blonde moaned as her head tilted back, showcasing that small strip of skin that Olivia loved to kiss. The detective wrapped her arms ever tighter around Alex's slender waist and latched her mouth onto the delicate flesh that covered the blonde's pulse point. She ran her hands down the dip in Alex's lower back and squeezed the round cheeks that rested in her hands.

Olivia released Alex and turned away from her as she walked across the small room. Alex watched as a shining light from the window highlighted Olivia's fading figure: the amber light was refracted off the stained glass, catching a strand of her short hair, hugging her feminine hips, peeking through the small area between her breasts and arm—Alex knew in that moment that she could not have been happier, or more at peace than she was right then. Suddenly, thinking of Olivia as her wife wasn't at all nerve-wracking or questionable; it was what she knew was meant to be.

"Baby. Where ar-?" Quietly, Olivia nodded to a simple wooden chair as she pulled it under her arm and brought it towards Alex. She placed it on the floor in front of the blonde and motioned for her to sit—Alex liked where this was going. Olivia extended those familiar, soft hands and took Alex's into her own, offering her the seat as she walked the blonde around to the front of the chair.

Alex sat down and crossed her legs, giving Olivia a playful smirk as she did so. The detective dropped down to her knees in front of the chair and gingerly lifted the foot on Alex's crossed leg, kissing her ankle and up her leg, carefully uncrossing it. Before Alex could rearrange herself, she felt Olivia lift her legs behind her shoulders as she put herself in perfect position between the blonde's legs.

Olivia placed hot kisses on the inside of Alex's thighs, quickly moving towards her center. Alex subconsciously pulled Olivia's body towards her, bending her knees a bit over the detective's shoulders and moving her core a little closer to the edge of the seat. Olivia lifted her head and kissed the small mound before dipping her tongue into Alex's dripping core. The blonde moaned Olivia's name loudly, running her hands through the short brown hair, guiding her where she wanted her to be.

Olivia was lost in the sensation—Alex's perfume mixed with the sweet, familiar scent of her arousal. Olivia's eyes were hazy, focused only on Alex's reactions as she delved deeper and watched as Alex slid forward a little more, granting her further access as her hips widened.

"Fuck Liv." She tangled her hands in the short hair beneath her as she felt her body begin to tighten. Olivia smiled a bit, knowing she was pushing Alex closer to the edge. She encased the small bundle of nerves in her mouth, sucking lightly as Alex's legs began to squeeze together, putting some pressure on Olivia's head. Slowly, Olivia released and drug her tongue through Alex's folds one more time before she trailed kisses back up her thighs.

Olivia stood and offered her hand to Alex, and, as the blonde stood up, Olivia swept her up in her arms, carrying her across the room towards a sheet lying on the floor. As she was being held in Olivia's strong arms, Alex ran her hand across Olivia's neck, pulling her mouth towards her own, forcefully pulling her into a passionate kiss. A few seconds later, Olivia laid Alex atop the sheet and folded up her own shirt to place under her lover's head. Olivia wasted no time, reassuming her position between Alex's legs, kissing and biting at small bits of flesh all the way up her legs until she reached her core.

They made eye contact with each other as Alex felt Olivia enter her with two fingers, and felt her own hips buck upward, pleading Olivia to continue. The detective started slowly, gently thrusting in and out of Alex before adding another finger. Soon, Alex was begging for Olivia to make her come, panting as she pulled Olivia down towards her, kissing her forcefully. Olivia watched as seconds later Alex's face flushed as she moaned loudly into Olivia's ear, releasing all of her tension into Olivia's hand.

Olivia fell atop Alex, kissing her heated neck and whispering into her ear. "That was so sexy." She felt Alex's hands wrap around her and quickly flip them so their positions were reversed. Alex moaned some dirty suggestions into Olivia's ear as she cascaded her hand down the rock-hard abs, atop the freshly shaven mound, and into Olivia's folds before she could even respond. A gasp overcame the detective and Alex smiled as she supported her whole world with her arm wrapped around the brunette writhing on the floor as her other hand went to work, thrusting in and out of Olivia, at first with one finger, and then two. Quickly, though, she inserted another and began a quickened pace, causing Olivia's hips to rise off the bed, meeting each thrust with one of her own.

"You gonna come for me baby?" Alex knew that Olivia was a sucker for dirty talk, and never would have suspected that from the detective—but she was glad she figured it out. All it took was a mere suggestion for Olivia to come undone, falling limp on the floor as Alex fell onto her.

They both lay there for a few minutes, catching their breath. Olivia ran her hands through Alex's hair, scratching her scalp lightly. The blonde couldn't help but run her hands over Olivia's hardened stomach and across her strong legs. "You are so sexy. How did I get so lucky?" It slipped out of her mouth before she even had a chance to think about what she was going to say.

Olivia chuckled. "I am definitely the lucky one in this situation, Ms. Cabot." Olivia winked and smiled that trademark Olivia Benson grin as Alex propped herself up on one elbow and looked down on her girlfriend.

"Ms. Cabot? Really? Courtroom talk so soon after we had sex?" She laughed as they both got up to retrieve their clothes from the other side of the room while she waited on Olivia's smart ass answer. What she heard, however, she didn't expect—what she heard stopped her heart.

"Well, I figure I should probably call you that as much as I can because maybe one day it won't be your last name anymore." Olivia was smiling the most genuine smile that Alex had ever seen on her as she pulled her hoodie back over her head. Alex was almost fully dressed when she gathered herself enough to respond.

"Maybe? One day? Well what would I change it to?"

"Oh, I don't know." Olivia wandered toward Alex, extending her arms in an unknowing gesture before placing them in the pockets of her jeans. "Cabot-Benson? Benson?" She peeked at Alex, semi-nervous to gauge her reaction, before she continued. "Or, you can always keep Cabot…or hell, who knows, you may finally figure out that you deserve much better than me and maybe one day your last name will be Smith, or Howard, or Cooper." Alex returned a questioning look. "Well, I couldn't really think of any other last names—those are pretty common." She laughed as Alex walked toward her and wrapped her arms around Olivia's neck.

"Olivia Benson, the day I share a last name with you will be the happiest day of my life. Don't talk like that." She finished putting all of her clothes on and resumed her position, hugging Olivia. "I love you."

"I love you too. Ready to go?"

By the time they got back to their apartment the sun was setting and Saturday night was coming to an uneventful close—just the way they had come to enjoy it. Alex was relaxed into Olivia's open arm on the couch, watching a true crime show that Olivia had turned on. Alex had dozed off, but she woke up and nuzzled closer into Olivia's neck, eliciting a smile and a tightened grip from the detective.

"Are you nervous about tomorrow?" Alex's sleepy, quiet voice reached Olivia's ears and the detective considered this question before answering.

"No, not really. I've been nervous about too many things in the past few months to be nervous about a doctor's appointment. Really, I'm only looking at a few outcomes, honestly. So, there's really not much to be nervous about."

Alex could appreciate this response, but part of it caught her off guard. "I get it. But, just out of curiosity, what have you been nervous about baby?" With this question, she turned more towards Olivia and lightly patted her leg, resting her hand on the detective's thigh. She fully expected to hear a work-related response, or something about when Carlson shot her, but the answer she got melted her heart.

"Well, talking to you again, for one. I got nervous every time you would walk into the precinct. I remember having to steel myself when I heard those shoes coming down the hallway." She smiled as she continued. "I was nervous about even going to your office for anything, and I was especially nervous when I had to testify in court when you were there." She took a breath and interlocked her hand with Alex's as she started speaking again. "But, I was probably most nervous about fully loving you—looking into your eyes, kissing you. I think when I realized the gravity of what I felt for you I was especially nervous to make love to you." Olivia's eyes blinked as she held eye contact with Alex, watching her sky blue beauties fill with tears.

"I'm sorry, sweetheart. I didn't mean to make you cry." She brushed her hand against an unfallen tear on Alex's cheek and kissed the delicate skin there.

"Liv, that is just so sweet. Here I was thinking you were going to say you were nervous about something job related and then you tell me that I make you nervous. I don't want you to feel like that, honey."

"I know—it was just…I didn't know how to get back in the swing of things with you and I didn't want to mess it up because I think I knew that this was something special." Olivia took Alex's chin into her hand, pulling the blonde close to her as she pressed a kiss against her lips. Alex melted into Olivia's arms as they passionately and slowly kissed one another.

"I love you, Alexandra."

"I love you too, Liv." She kissed Olivia on the cheek and stood up from the couch. "You ready for bed? We've got to be up kind of early."

They walked down the hall together and slid into bed, Alex pulling the covers over her as Olivia rested her head on her chest. It was so different for Olivia to need to be held—for her to be the comforted and not the comforter, but Alex always loved when she did, and she was happy to be the one that was able to hold Olivia in her arms and take away any pain that she was feeling.

Alex took Olivia's hand in her own, reaching over to her nightstand for some lotion. She rubbed a small amount of the coconut lime lotion onto Olivia's hand and massaged it in. The detective was on the verge of sleep, but Alex was not even close to being done. Slowly, she kept massaging, noticing every line and curve of Olivia's hand.

Her mind wandered back to Olivia's hands. They were truly a paradox; Alex herself watched as these hands handled a gun, handcuffed a suspect, and participated in combat. But, at the same time, she saw and felt these hands on a daily basis comforting people, helping victims, and making love. She turned Olivia's hand over in her own and noticed that it was a little rougher than normal, and she attributed this to all of the work that has gone on at the restaurant. She continued to inspect each finger, knuckle, and groove as if they all told a story. Alex admired her slender middle finger and noticed a faint tan line from where she used to wear a plain, narrow band. It quickly struck Alex that she didn't know what size ring Olivia wore, and she added that to her mental list of things she needed to do.

"You got a thing for my hand or something?" Olivia's voice startled Alex and was a little froggy from her fatigue, but smiled through her closed eyes.

Alex finished rubbing the lotion onto her hands and smiled as she answered. "There's just something really sexy about your hands, that's all…they tell a story." Olivia smiled and cupped Alex's face as she pulled it toward her and kissed her goodnight.

"I love you Ms. Cabot." There it was again. And the wink on top of it. Alex was in deep, but she went forth knowing it, and accepting the fact that it would be the best thing that would ever happen to her. She turned out the light and sank down into the bed, cradling Olivia's head above her breast. In no time, they both fell asleep at peace in their own little piece of Brooklyn.
