The Prince sat in the temple in quiet meditation in a large Yautja shrine. It was a sacred place devoid of technological advances. Statues of past Yautja warriors were as high as the ceiling, primitive lamps burned oil, and the floor was made of stone.
"I wonder how old this place is?" Lex said aloud next to the Prince.
The Prince opened his eyes but didn't bother to look at Lex. "As a non-believer, you should not have been allowed in."
"Like that could stop me," she said.
"A moment ago, I felt a disturbance in the serenity of this place. There was peace and then suddenly corruption entered," the Prince said closing his eyes once more.
Lex felt amused by the insult. "Are you here to repent for all those you have killed? Perhaps you have considered a life of pacifism," she chided.
"The gods would never ask that of me," the Prince muttered.
"You're a sore loser. Do you know how many times I failed to climb a peak? I have ended up in the hospital with a broken leg. I have lost people," Lex said.
"You cannot compare your pitiful human past with mine," the Prince said disdainfully. "There is only one human culture that truly understands. They were warriors that would throw themselves on their swords upon their defeat."
"So, why the hesitation?" Lex asked coldly.
"My family would fall to my older brother," the Prince said softly.
"Quite the dilemma," Lex mocked. Lex then brought forth one of the Prince's collected Samurai swords. "If you're going to do it, at least give me the pleasure of doing it for you," Lex said.
The Prince remained sitting even as the sword rested on his neck. "It does not matter if you do it. I cannot experience any greater shame," the Prince told her.
Lex glided the sword creating a green line on the Prince's neck. He remained sitting with his eyes closed. Disappointed, Lex brought the sword back. Two priests ran over to Lex and the Prince.
"You are the abomination. How did you get inside?" one of them demanded.
"How indeed?" Lex mocked.
"You must leave now or we will remove you by force," the priest said to her.
"I was trained by him. Do your worst," Lex said with her sword ready.
The priests hesitated. Lex chuckled at them and walked past them. "I know the way out," she said.
Prince Nahuel's representative came to the palace and was greeted by Makawee. "The Prince is not here," Makawee said upon entering the throne room. "The King was displeased that the Prince was not present at the dinner. The King does not take insults lightly," the representative said.
"The Prince did not mean to insult the King, his father. He requires healing of mind and spirit," Makawee said.
"And yet, the Prince was able to do an expedition to Earth?" the representative questioned.
Makawee looked at the representative blankly, she was not aware of any such trip. "I was not aware. There must be a mistake. He has remained on the planet," she insisted.
"For the Prince's sake, get your house in order," the representative scolded.
Makawee approached Lex in her chambers. "The Prince is losing the King's favor. Our position is in jeopardy," Makawee said seriously.
"What can I do about it?" Lex asked.
"Your relationship with the Prince is different than the rest of us. You have fought with him in battle," Makawee pointed out.
"So have you," Lex said.
"There is a difference. The Prince has love for you but there is also anger and disgust of you. Use that to your advantage," Makawee suggested.
"Thanks," Lex said bitterly.
"I have made peace with the fact that I will belong to the Prince's brother if he were die. Have you?" Makawee said.
Lex had no answer as Makawee left the room.
That night, the Prince remained sitting in the temple. He didn't noticed the priestly guards being dispatched. He didn't even notice the dark figure approaching him from behind. Suddenly plasma blasts hit the statues destroying their heads. Chunks of stone fell to the ground. The Prince got to his feet and stared at a mirror of himself. The two were identical except one of them was heavily armed.
Lex fired at the statues creating sparks and fires throughout the temple. The Prince saw the destruction and went into a fighting stance. Lex quickly fired her net gun pinning the Prince to a column. Lex then took off her wrist bomb and threw it on the floor. The count down had already began.
"Death to your gods," Lex said in the Prince's voice.
The Prince watched as Lex started hitting altars and monuments inside the temple. The destruction at first stunned the Prince and then anger emerged. With his strength, the Prince pulled the net off him even as it sliced into his skin.
Lex turned around to see the Prince charging her. The Prince tackled her to the ground, but Lex kicked him behind her. Lex got back to her feet and fired near the Prince's location causing the ground to spark as she did. Lex then tried a new toy the Prince had developed. Her wrist blades were sets of three and could be thrown a distance using a swinging momentum. The Prince narrowly avoided the blades. The blades then rose from the floor and flew back into her wrist blade using magnetism. Lex swung her hips throwing blades all across the temple in an attempt to hit the Prince. Each time, the blades would come back to her.
The Prince expertly avoided her blades and tried to get in close. He finally landed a punch on Lex. In her female body, the punch might have done severe damage. But in the Prince's body, she could easily absorb the blow. The two engaged in punches and kicks. Lex found herself thrown to the ground and fear started to come in. If she were knocked out, by the time she awoke the two hours could have passed. The Prince was also trying to kill her as opposed to just toying with her as usual. She could not lose.
Lex took out the Samurai sword and pointed it towards the Prince. "You would kill one unarmed?" the Prince asked.
"We do not have honor do we?" Lex asked back.
Lex engaged the Prince swinging the sword as quickly as she could. The Prince expertly moved his feet and body to avoid the sword swings. With super-human speed and reflexes, the Prince kicked the sword out of her hands. Lex extended her blades and stabbed the Prince to the side. The Prince fell to his feet exhausted and hurt. "Kill me and replace me," the Prince said.
"Replace you? I am going to destroy your name," Lex said.
"My name is already destroyed," the Prince replied.
"No, this is just the beginning," Lex said as she fired off blades into a statue's face. The blades pulled back and went back into her wristband.
The Prince still remained on his knees bloody and exhausted from the fight. Lex heard a beeping noise and took out a hologram emitter in front of the Prince. An image of Makawee appeared off the emitter. "The wives are assembled with the exception of the seventh," Makawee said disdainfully.
"I will be there to take care of them," Lex replied in the Prince's voice.
The Prince stared as the imposter ended the conversation. "Since you're already dead, you won't mind if your wives' honor ends as well," Lex said rhetorically.
Lex then pretended to leave the ruined temple. The Prince stared at the ruins and then at his bloody hands. He immediately got back on his feet and charged. Lex turned around and placed blades on his throat. The Prince didn't hesitate in his attacks. The Prince avoided Lex's armor and started slamming her to the head and throat. The Prince punched her to the throat stunning her and then bashed her to the head. Lex tried to steady herself, but the Prince was relentless like a crazed boxer. Lex retaliated by head butting him. Both monetarily stunned, the Prince recovered quicker.
After a few powerful strikes, Lex was on her knees stunned. "You are beaten," the Prince told her.
"You may want to attend to that," Lex said pointing to the detonator.
As the Prince looked away, Lex activated her cloaking device disappearing from view. The Prince looked back and saw nothing. Running after to the detonator, he noticed he didn't have much time left. The Prince ran towards the entrance and dragged the two priests out of the temple. Collapsing from exhaustion, the Prince took cover as the temple exploded. The temple blew outwards throwing stone in all directions.
Lex decloaked as she saw the explosion a distance away. She morphed back to her normal self and then changed back into the Prince. The morphing fixed the scrapes and wounds on her body. Fixing her armor back to the way it was supposed to be, she cloaked herself.
Lex sneaked into the palace and washed down the armor before placing it away. Soon, thereafter the Prince limped into the palace with green blood all over his body. Makawee immediately ran over to him as he entered the throne room. "What happened?" she asked of him.
"While in meditation, I did battle against my opposite," the Prince said.
"Your opposite?" Makawee asked.
"It was a version of my self that had no honor. I defeated my anti-self. I understand now," the Prince said.
"The temple is destroyed and your body is hurt. How can this be a vision?" Makawee asked.
"The gods divided me, and I conquered myself," the Prince said.
"You did this?" Makawee wondered.
"Tend to me," the Prince said as he struggled to his throne.
Makawee took a cloth and began to care for his wounds.
The next day, Lex half-expected to be discovered as the Prince's clone attacker. Instead, the Prince seemed revived. Lex found him fighting with his body guards in the early morning. He was sparing with multiple fighters with his blades. Makawee was already outside watching from a distance. "His spirit lives again," Makawee told her.
"As his lives others will die," Lex commented.
The Prince walked over to the two wives. "A temple has been completely destroyed. I am to oversee its rebuilding. Once it has been rebuilt, the King will visit it personally," the Prince said.
"I expect all the wives to be at the ceremony," the Prince added.
"Of course," Makawee replied.
The Prince then stared at Lex thoughtfully. "You're excused from it," he said to her.
"As you wish," Lex replied.
The Prince turned to Makawee. "I must speak to her alone," he said referring to Lex.
Makawee bowed out and walked back to the palace. Lex felt a chill as she wondered if the Prince suspected her as the imposter. Was he going to force her to confess or kill her? The Prince studied Lex's demeanor. "It is not good to be deprived of spiritual nourishment," the Prince said.
"I suppose not," Lex said neutrally.
"Do you still believe in that god that was dragged into the streets and hung on a tree?" the Prince asked.
"Do you still believe in a god killed by a scorpion?" Lex shot back.
The Prince chuckled amused. "I take that to be a yes. I will have a shrine built inside the palace. You may have a metal-cutter build your trinkets and place them there," the Prince allowed.
"You are very gracious," Lex replied.
The Prince then changed the subject. "I went to Earth to hunt down one of your most difficult to find fugitives. Forgive me for not bringing you with me."
Lex froze at his words. "Maybe next time."
"Perhaps," the Prince said thoughtfully and walked off.
Author's Note: The Yautja god being referred to is the Greek figure Orion who was killed by a scorpion for wanting to kill every beast in the world. I am open to working on a Lex POV but not the Prince's right now. I like to keep the Prince's motivations and thoughts open to interpretation.
