The elevator ride was filled with silence as the duo rode to the top. There was silence as they entered MTT Resort. Finally, after they entered the elevator that took them through the door, Flowey said,
"So this is it, huh Chara?"
"Yeah, I guess it is. I mean, we still have a little walk to find Sans, but other than that our journey is pretty much over," they replied. The elevator opened and they stepped out, walking over to the entrance where they usually fought Mettaton. As they entered, Chara noticed the robot parts scattered across the room, and they began to black out once again.
The demon scowled as the robot when on about protecting humanity and the few people he cared about. The robot bragged about their anti-human functions, but the demon merely scoffed. They had killed a determination fueled fish, surely they could defeat a robot with some guns. Besides, the demon wasn't even human. They took a step forward.
"FINE THEN! RRRRREADY? IIIIIIIT'S SHOWTIME!" the robot exclaimed. A bright light enveloped the room, and as the demon lowered their hand they saw the robot had transformed into a more human looking form with some fancy attachments. The demon had no hesitation in striking, and they, shockingly, killed it in one hit. They quickly got over their shot as the robot uttered its final words. "GH...GUESS YOU DON'T WANT TO JOIN MY FAN CLUB?" it muttered before exploding. The demon smirked as it left the room, ready to take down its final victim.
Chara once again found themselves standing right where they had been before the vision. They looked at Flowey.
"That was a really short one," said Chara.
"Yeah. You were literally for like two minutes," replied Flowey, "If I had to guess, however, Sans's won't be so quick."
"Why is that?"
"You'll see..." The two of them said nothing else as they took a series of elevators to the Judgement Hall. Chara entered the golden hall as Flowey jumped off of their shoulder. "Welp, good luck. If we're lucky, then this is where you'll regain the ability to reset."
"Yeah, hopefully. See you on the other side, Asriel," was all Chara could say before the final vision began.
The demon entered the hall of gold. They noticed a save point by the entrance, and for some reason felt compelled to use it. They walked down the hall, before seeing the skeleton step out from behind one of the pillars.
"heya. you've been busy, huh?" it said, "so, i've got a question for ya. do you think even the worse person can change...? that everybody can be a good person, if they just try? heh heh heh heh heh... well, here's a better question. do you wanna have a bad time? 'cause if you take another step forward... you are REALLY not going to like what happens next."
The demon took another step forward.
"welp. sorry, old lady. this is why i never make promises." The skeleton closed its eyes. "it's a beautiful day outside. birds are singing, flowers are blooming. on days like these, kids like you...should be burning in hell." The skeleton then proceeded to launch a vicious barrage of bones and blasters, killing the demon almost instantly. After getting over their initial shock, the demon loaded their save.
"Alright, then," it thought, "let's play." The demon walked down the corridor, ready to dodge the second the skeleton began to attack. Just like the previous time, the skeleton walked out from behind the pillar.
"heya. you look frustrated about something. guess i'm pretty good at my job, huh?" The skeleton began its monologue again, but the demon ignored it as it prepared to dodge. The bones and blasters came, and the demon successfully survived the attack, though not unscathed. "huh," said the skeleton, "always wondered why people never use their strongest attack first." The demon ignored the snide remark and swung their knife at the skeleton, who proceeded to dodge. "what, you think i'm just going to stand there and take it?" It summoned a few more bones and caused the demon to die again. This time the demon merely scowled as they loaded and walked down the corridor.
"hmm. that expression...that's the expression of someone who's died twice in a row. suffice to say, you look really...unsatisfied. all right. how 'bout we make it a third?" The skeleton once again began its monologue, but as the demon prepared to dodge, the skeleton stopped talking and began the attack early, very nearly killing the demon yet again. "anyway, as i was saying, it's a nice day out. why not relax and take a load off?" The demon ate their pie before bones came from both sides. Eventually, they started attacking the skeleton and made some progress. Several more deaths occurred, but the skeleton finally began to tire.
"ugh...that being said...you, uh, really like swinging that thing around, huh? Listen. i know you didn't answer me before, but, somewhere in there, i can feel it. there's a glimmer of a good person inside of you. the memory of someone who once wanted to do the right thing. someone who, in another time, might have even been...a friend? c'mon buddy. do you remember me? please, if you're listening, let's forget all of this, ok? just lay down your weapon, and, well, my job will be a lot easier." The demon took this time to heal, realizing the skeleton wasn't going to attack. However, they refused to accept the skeleton's offer of mercy, and instead took another swing with their knife. "welp, it was worth a shot. guess you like doing things the hard way, huh?" And once again, the demon was slain.
More and more deaths occurred, but each time the demon noticed the skeleton would get a little more tired the more progress the made. Finally, the skeleton had to resort to using their special attack.
"survive THIS, and i'll show you my special attack!" it exclaimed. They began by slaiming the demon against the wall several times. Then, some bones came, before the skeleton sent the demon flying down the corridor, forcing them to dodge bones along the way. When they finally reached the end, they had to quickly jump several times as bones appeared under their feet. Finally, a ring of blasters appeared, and the demon was forced to run in circles to avoid being disintegrated. The demon barely dodged the lasers before getting slammed into the walls rapidly by the skeleton, who was clearly getting desperate. After several long seconds of throwing the demon around, the skeleton lowered their hand, and the demon fell to the ground.
"huff...puff...all right. that's it. it's time for my special attack. are you ready? here goes nothing," said the skeleton, out of breath. The demon braced themselves, before they realized what was happening. "yep. that's right. it's literally nothing. and it's not going to be anything, either. heh heh heh, ya get it? i know i can't beat you. one of your turns...you're just going to kill me. so, uh, i've decided...it's not going to BE your turn. ever. i'm just going to keep having MY turn until you give up. even if it means we have to stand here until the end of time. capiche?" The demon was furious. After all of that, it ended here? They tried to attack, but the skeleton teleported them back to a safe distance. Again and again they tried, but to no avail. FInally, the demon sat down in defeat and frustration, when they looked up and noticed something. The skeleton was asleep. Grinning, the demon rushed forward, but the skeleton had been faking.
"heh, didja really think you would be able to-" the skeleton was cut off by the demon's ferocious swing of the knife. Normally, they were one to obey the rules of battle, but the skeleton had taken it too far. They broke the rules, so the demon broke the rules. They smirked as the skeleton collapsed from the killing blow. Never before had the demon felt so triumphant.
They had won.
They had finally won.
And no one could stop them now.
Author's note: Well, there you go. The flashback I'm sure a lot of you have been waiting for. If you're wondering why I didn't do Sans's final words, well, I already did. Go back to chapter one lol. Anyway, I should probably start on the next chapter, because things are about to get very, very interesting.
