Dastardly Debra
Chapter 2
Disclaimer: Time for more!
The Next Day
An eager and excited Debra made her way into Dexter's apartment thanks to his having gotten her from the hospital. "So, what'd you find out? Am I gonna get the gift I've been hopin' for where Hannah's concerned?" She asked eagerly.
Not noticing the frown on his face thanks to his not having turned around yet to face her. "The evidence was… It didn't pan out."
"What the fuck do you mean it didn't pan out!?" Demanded to know Debra as he turned around to face her.
"Meaning that what I found at your house and in your car didn't implicate Hannah in what happened with you, Deb." Explained Dexter patiently.
"Bullshit! She obviously did something to make sure she wouldn't get caught! Or are you just trying to cover for that bitch since you're so in love with her!?"
Ohh how she wanted to put a bullet in that Blonde murderous bitch! "The strand of hair I found in your bathroom didn't match, Deb. And while your bottled water was drugged, that could still easily be explained as you having dropped a Xanax in your bottle by accident and not even realized it. Plus, I found no prints belonging to Hannah."
Debra could hardly believe what she was hearing as she stared at him in shock, not liking how this was going at all whatsoever. "That's not possible! God, she has you so fucking wrapped around her damn finger that its disgusting!" She exclaimed as her emotions stirred wildly and she felt her eyes getting wet.
"Deb…"
"NO! She could have been wearing gloves when she drugged me! You know as well as I do that its a thing!"
"It is possible, but Deb, you told her you would practically do anything to see her gone and behind bars! Which really doesn't help the situation any!" Argued back the Dark Defender of the night.
A disbelieving scoff came from Debra as she felt tears come down her face and as Dexter thought about it, remembered the fact that his sister was something of a big drinker. Which mixed in with drugs and how she's been handling things where he's concerned since discovering she's in love with him and that he's the Bay Harbor Butcher, really didn't make for a good combination. "And you and I both know you have a strong habit of drinking often so that could have even mixed with what you're taking in a bad way!"
Being told that really didn't settle well with Debra one bit as she stared at him in shock. "I… I can't believe you! You're supposed to be on my side, damnit! Not her's, not anyone's but mine!" She cried out unhappily.
He shrugged helplessly at her. "Deb, I only go where the evidence takes me. You know that as well as I do."
What she did next surprised Dexter when she came and kissed him soundly on the lips as she cried. But thankfully the shock didn't last long as he pulled his sister back. Something she didn't like one bit as she slapped him rather hard. "We are supposed to be together, Dexter! Not you and that fucking bitch! I love you and I want to be with you. That's what matters! Not her! I'm the right girl for you! Why can't you see that!? Do I need to make myself into a Blonde or some shit!?" Debra sobbed out.
"Deb, I love you but not in the way you want me too. You are only my sister and that's all you'll ever be to me. I'm sorry that's not what you want to hear." He replied with genuine sadness in his voice.
She made to try and kiss him again but he wouldn't let it happen and that only served to anger Debra further. "Dex, please! So what if she didn't actually do it? She still deserves to be locked up! She doesn't deserve you like I do! I love you!"
"Deb… Did you put yourself in the hospital to try and frame Hannah?" Dexter asked.
Hoping he was wrong but said hope plummeting soon after when she owned up to it. "Oh… Deb..."
This was not how things should be going and Dexter quickly realized he owed Hannah one Hell of an apology as his heart broke and his sister cried uncontrollably. "Lieutenant Morgan, I regret to inform you that you are now officially suspended until further notice." Came LaGuerta's voice as she came from his bedroom with a saddened look on her face.
But she wasn't alone as Debra's Therapist was with her and looking quite saddened as well. Even feeling a measure of guilt considering her own role in things where helping the young woman in front of her realize her true feelings for her adopted brother were concerned. LaGuerta's words weren't ones Debra was very happy about and the appearance of two men in white clothing from her brother's bedroom really didn't help things either. "Debra, I'm sorry, but I think some time in a Rehab facility will do you some much needed good. Especially for any detoxing you may need to do." Dr. Ross told her.
But she was paid no mind too thanks to Debra trying to fight the two men off and begging for Dexter to help but it was all to no avail as he couldn't even watch what was going on. One of the men managed to give her a sedative, allowing them an easier time of dealing with her as she babbled incoherently until it took hold and she was out. Quickly allowing the two figures to carry her out of the apartment, leaving Dexter with the two women as he let out a shaky breath. "I understand if you would prefer for me to stay far away from your family after this, Mr. Morgan." Dr. Ross said quietly.
He looked to her and the Captain for a moment before speaking. "You… You couldn't have known that your sessions with her would lead to this. But for the time being, I think it best that you do stay away."
She nodded in understanding and with a sad smile aimed at him, made her leave to join the two men outside. "This is not something I ever expected to happen." Murmured LaGuerta with a shake of her head as part of her was actually happy about this turn of events since Morgan had proven to be resistant to being molded by her.
"That makes two of us."
A thought then occurred to him. "If the Rehab helps her, will she be able to return to the Force?"
"If that's what she's willing to do but given what she tried to do to Ms. McKay it may not be possible. And even if it is, she'll unlikely retain her Lieutenant status." Replied the woman in actual genuine regret.
As despite being a pain in her ass, she did think somewhat highly of Debra. Dexter nodded in understanding as he let out a sigh. "I think I'm going to take today off if you don't mind."
"Of course I don't mind, Dexter. I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah." Was all he said and she soon made her leave after that.
I need to go see Hannah. For he had an apology to make while feeling thankful Jamie had his son elsewhere at the moment as his little boy didn't need to see things like his Aunt Deb's breakdown and being escorted away after being given a sedative.
