Star moaned as she slowly opened her eyes as rays from the sun poured into the cave. Looking down, she saw the black wing still covering her and she sighed before yawning and shaking her head, "I guess the Dragonborn didn't kill me in my sleep," she looked up to see the still sleeping Marco leaning against the wall of the cave, "Hey Dragonborn," she lightly nudged him only to have nothing happen, "Dragonborn, wakeup, it's morning," she nudged him again and again have nothing happen, "Dragonborn? Dragonborn? Dragonborn!"
Marco moaned as he opened his eyes and looked down in slight annoyance, "Look angel, I'm not a morning dragon, okay?" Star moaned and pouted as she looked away with narrowed eyes and Marco moved his wing away from her, "Geez…if I didn't know any better, I'd say you thought I was dead and you were worried,"
"Don't get a big head, Dragonborn," Star scoffed and shook her head as she looked back at Marco, "I told you last night that I'm going to be the one that kills you, not some stupid cold," Marco smirked before the sound of Star's stomach growling filled the cave and her eyes widened, "I…I…shut up, Dragonborn! It's not funny!"
"Yeah, yeah," Marco stood up and stretched and stretched his wings before folding them back and walked towards the entrance of the cave, "Since neither one of us had dinner last night, it should come as no surprise that we're both a little hungry,"
"So what? Are you going to try and eat me or some-"
"Due to the fact that you're an angel, you'll upset my stomach, so no…but I hope you like fish, angel. Dragons are notorious expert fishers," Star narrowed her eyes as she slowly nodded and the two of them walked out of the cave in silence.
The two sat in front of a fire while several fishes on sticks cooked. Star sighed and looked at Marco and shook her head, "So…is this going to be our life from now on, Dragonborn?" Marco hummed and looked at her in confusion, "Living in caves, eating fish, waiting for one of us to kill the other…is this going to be our life from now on?"
Marco sighed and shook his head before staring back at the fire, "We'll sneak into town later and grab some water and non-perishables along with a few other odds and ends…we'll be stuck in a cave for the most part, but I've learned how to make the best out of a bad situation at a young age, so until we decide to kill each other, we'll make do with what we have and what we can can get out of town." Star scoffed and shook her head, "So angel…why exactly were you tossed out of heaven? It had to be more than just being a free spirit,"
"Seriously Dragonborn? We're going to try and get to know each other better?" Marco hummed and shrugged his shoulders before Star took a sharp breath, "Whatever…I wa supposed to be training to be one of the next Archangels, but I didn't want that. I wanted to have fun with my friends, party and just hang out. Eventually all of the angels, including my parents, were getting fed up with my antics and they had me exiled…worst part is my friends turned their backs on me."
Marco looked up and arched a brow as Star inhaled slowly and hugged her knees to her chest as she stared at the fire with narrowed eyes, "I don't plan on getting any type of revenge. It'll just be pointless. Instead I'm going to live my life carefree and doing what I want without having anyone tell me what to do," the air between the two grew still as Marco growled under his breath, "Hey Dragonborn…is the food done yet?"
"What? Oh yeah," he reached over and moved the fish away from the fire before handing some to Star, "Eat up, angel. We need to go into town later to get some water and other things we'll need to survive," Star hummed and nodded before the two of them began eating in silence.
After eating and tossing the bones into some nearby bushes, Marco stomped the smoldering embers out as Star looked around with a serious look crossing her face, "Ready to go?" she looked back to see Marco stepping away from the small firepit with narrowed eyes, "Let's go, angel. The sooner we get into town and get what the need, the sooner we can get away from the greedy humans and their wicked ways,"
"Are you sure you're not frightened to be hunted down for your scales, Dragonborn?" Star smirked, crossing her arms, "Or maybe you don't want to lose your tail, or wings…how about all-"
"How about you shut up and we go into town or I'll just leave you here and go on my own, angel," Marco spat and Star groaned as she narrowed her eyes, "Let's go. Like I said, the sooner we get this over with, the sooner we can get the hell away from those greedy bastards,"
He walked past Star ad the fallen angel scoffed, "I was just trying to lighten the mood a little, no need to take my head off," Star turned and followed Marco through the forest.
So a few things in this chapter will come in later…please enjoy.
